i had 2 pet ducks,bert & ernie and they would pren my eyebrows like they were feathers lol. i loved them so much.

Rest In Peace, Honk the goose. He passed peacefully in the sun yesterday while napping on his favorite pile of leaves. He is remembered through this video, his social media, his upcoming film, and his children’s books. A deeply sad loss of a beautiful bird, inside and out. 🌈🖤🖤🪶🖤🖤🌹

Cheryl was able to find him a wonderful sanctuary (Rogers Wildlife in Texas) that is only 20 minutes from her home. Honk has another goose friend and they have a pond and a pool and get to roam the grounds freely (yet safely). Happy ending. Cheryl still visits him frequently. 💞

Sometimes an animal just chooses you. I had a hamster choose me when I was a kid, I found him running around outside trying to break into my neighbors apartment who was having a fit because she thought he was a rat. He saw me and was calm so I scooped him up because I noticed he had what appeared to be a cat bite on his back and we went on to have many lovely years together. He was the only hamster I ever met that didn't dare to bite anyone, not even my young sibling and he loved spending time near us. Honestly he was such a weird hamster (I once found him stuck in the toilet) but I really loved him and I'm glad he found me.

@Pinkel Wurst Thats understandable... you just did your job but feeling bad for it is nice at least. Thank you for thinking about animals even if not all of them can have a long healthy life it means a lot to care!
@Pinkel Wurst I actually think (this has nothing to do with your profession really) that breeding and raising life just to destroy it is the thing that bothers me the most.. because if its hunting then the animal has a chance to get away and if not then its natural selection unfortunately. But their life had more purpose than in captivity.

A bond formed with an animal is something priceless and irreplaceable. They're not like humans. They don't form friendships because they want to use you and they'll never stab you in the back. They choose to stay because they love you.

@Pinkel Wurst Don't feel bad. Most of the livestock we slaughter are able to socialize and form bonds. Some animals live short lives as food and some get to live in ponds or hunt truffles.

A life saved and a life now improved. Saving the life of a discarded goose is a great thing to do. Both Honk and Cheryl have big hearts filled with love.

I just googled it and Honk now lives at a place called Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation Center with 15 other geese & lots of other wildlife. I'm sure they would love a donation to help their work :) If you check out Honk's Instagram (Honk_thegoose), there's a link to the Rehab Centre on there x

@@paintinganimalsonrocks7633 If it's appropriate bird food there is no crime in it. No bread. We feed our ducks and other birds to help them thrive ( we live by the ditch and have a lots of birds). Some places will say no feeding birds, but not all of them. If I would become a friend with this goose I would definitely bring some appropriate food and throw it on a ground for him to eat it.

If you have a good setup, then why not? A lot of people have ponds in their yards or close to their home.
Hope you find a home for him quickly, before anything has a chance to happen to him. We have geese in our local park, not afraid of people, and some of those people are not always kind to them. Thank you for taking an interest in him!
Unfortunate reality. The central park in my city presumably had to drain the water serpentine, that surrounded the park, due to kids being cruel to the geese and ducks. They would throw rocks at them and injure them for their amusement. Utterly sickening behavior. No water, then no geese or ducks.
I hope you were able to find a sanctuary for it so to be with other geese and that you can continue to visit it

I’m obsessed. My kid rolls her eyes at me when I’m like, Kaia, you have to watch this dodo video. We both love animals though, and bc we lost our senior pup in Jan we’ve both been lonely for that unconditional love they offer. But we may finally have an adoption go through!! My kid had severe allergies so we can only have specific dog breeds. Those breeds go crazy fast though. Or we’ll find one and the adoption fee is like $900. I had to set alarms on my phone to check my email for the alerts from the adoption sites I’ve signed up with. But I found a 6mos old poodle mix and the rescue has already contacted my references so fingers crossed!

My mother saved two geese from a store where we live one had a hole in its beak (thats since healed) and the other was being picked on by the others so his wings were a mess but the workers there told her some lady comes in and buys the injured birds and feeds them live to her dogs which is just...So my mom took them

In my house we has geese, that's way I know it's a she, not a he. Geese are smart, protective, and loyal, like dogs. You are lucky because they are selective too and she chose you.
