- Art Garfunkel and his son James (a/k/a Art Jr.) play a cover version of The Everly Brothers' song "Devoted To You," which was originally released in 1958. The song was written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant. Joining them onstage are Tab Laven (guitar) and Paul Beard (keyboard).

Elizabeth: I know what you mean, I'm 72 and grew up in New York City listening to Simon and Garfunkle. As strange as it is, I'm happy for every day and just enjoying what life is going to give me. Never for a second thought there'd be something as cool as the internet. Don't think I'm going to see those flying cars anytime soon.

Love Art Garfunkel & son. Lots of comments on Art getting old. It’s a blessing to us all he’s still here and singing at 77 and a sad fact that some are not lucky enough to get old.

always remember that immortal line from Bookends..."How terribly strange to be 70" now he is in his late 70's but still a wonderful voice. I was 10 years old when Simon and Garfunkel originally broke up. I am 60 this year where does the time fly.
I would also say that the way Art sings it doesn't put as much wear and tear on his vocal cords like if he was to sing harsh and loud like rock .. the way he sings has kepted them in good order ..

Sincere condolences to you. It had to be extremely difficult to lose your Dad when you were so young. My Dad died 27 years ago at the age of 63. I'm 63 now, though in my head I'm about 25.

Guess what, I'm in my 70's and I don't look like myself anymore either. When I look in the mirror, I say who is that lady. No one is young forever, we all grow old and we all change. I think it's wonderful that he's a family man and has strong morals. Art is one of the best singers that ever crossed our paths.
I just thought about how strange it is to say that someone doesn't look like himself anymore. When you think of it, isn't yourself the only person you really can look like? Lol
But we all know what he means. He doesn't look anything like how we remember him. I wondered at first too, if I'd read the title wrong, and it was someone else they meant.

Saw Art in concert @ SUNY Binghamton, NY. It was one of the best & most beautiful concerts I ever attended. I believe his wife was singing also. Garfunkel's voice has recovered from his previous vocal distress. The timbre is still instantly recognizable as Art Garfunkel. His son has a great instrument too. As a singer, especially a tenor or soprano, its hard to sing in your 70s and beyond as the high notes are the first to go (there are notable exceptions....Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Leontyne Price, Magda Olivero). He makes excellent use of his remaining resources.
This Everly Bros. song is one of my favorites. My late brother and I used to sing Everly songs all the time. Their harmonies were the greatest.

I took my parents to see Art Garfunkel at the Royal Albert Hall around 1999 and he and his son James, seen here sang together, I’m guessing James was around 8 or 9 then and it was truly remarkable seeing the love between parent and child so unspoiled on the stage. Go and listen to Garfunkel’s album from a parent to a child.
