I think it has some engineering merit but I do not believe it is a big deal. I will talk more about that when filming the installation video. BTW love Peak Torque channel, nerdy stuff like mine!😇

Great set of videos. Thank you. I'm wondering if you can use the older XG-1295 10-50t cassette with the new XO T-type direct mount derailleur? Is there something magic about the red ring (set up) on the newer cassette (XS-1295) and/or are the teeth different?
I’ve actually copied the b bolt set up on my first generation axs and put a small shim in tne B bolt to stop it swinging around. This has greatly reduced the chain slap, once you’ve set the B gap you don’t need it to move again. Also considering moving the hole in the derailleur cage that the clutch goes into to add a touch more tension.
I would love to see a picture or video of what you did to limit the AXS RD from swinging freely around its main mounting bolt as that is my only complaint about it. I have a video on my channel sharing my frustration with it.
@@LoveMTB yeah it’s it’s just a washer between the b bolt head and the derailleur I made it out of a thin piece of plastic it’s just enough to hold it still but if it got hit it could still move. I used an old pre paid credit card to make the washer

Well if you hit the cage in hard enough on both XTR or AXS, you will rip it apart. You can replace the whole cage for $150 on transmission, with XTR you will have to buy a new derailleur for $250-300. I think the transmission one would be more durable since it can pivot on itself.

I just checked prices on this system and it's revolting to say the least. It's marketing to make you believe you get something, to push your focus away from what they hide. What if you don't like it and want to change... That's going to cost a lot, and I'm sure most would just sit there and bite their lip in silence while they pay an arm and a leg for new overpriced components. The problem here is greed. No way in hell are these components worth the asking price. It's a f'ing transmission set for a bicycle, not a car...
Battery is a moot point. I’ve had AXS for over 2 years. Never had an issue with charging or forgetting to charge. One full charge keeps the bike running for more than a month, depending on how often you ride. Strange how haters always use the battery as their deterrent. If anything, the price should be the real deterrent. Lol
@@GokkunGuru I'm not a hater. I'm pretty sure I could probably adapt to remembering to charge a battery, I just think simpler is better. And yes, the price is ridiculous.
A few decades ago many people said they would never buy a car with an automatic transmission since they were not as efficient. Now the automatic transmissions have become so good that they are more efficient than manual transmissions. In the near future electronic transmissions will be as widespread as dropper posts are now. Do you want to give up your dropper post because it is more complicated than a regular seat post?

I'm saving up for the XX drivetrain. I think the T-Type is a game changer. And with all the abuse testers have shown on RUclips, I'm very impressed. I can genuinely understand where the naysayers are coming from but there is no way the average rider is going to ride it to the point of failure that testers have done.
Yeah the price is steep but let's be honest...a lot of us have already spent tonnes on our bikes. It is afterall an expensive hobby and the drivetrain is the most worked component of the bike...might as well get the best there is. Also, let's be clear, there's nothing wrong with sticking to other types of drivetrains but if you can afford a T-Type, go for it.
Do you run a business or are you just a hobbyist? You have a lot of components.
Just a hobby my friend, and I don't own all of this check the shout out to Paul at Bikecomponets at the start of the video😉
@@LoveMTBPaul is awesome. He’s a great dude. I buy from his shop. Fellow Canuck here.
@@GokkunGuru Yeah looks like more and more of us!🤓🤘
Thanks for another informative vid!!!Sram did their homework on this one very well thought out and over engineered...Only 2 things I don't like,I don't have a udh bike and the price!!! I wonder if you can build a sramano drive train out of this one and does it let you multi shift? It seems they all list parts that you can't buy like shimano 12 sp small cogs for the cassette...I see sram has a dummy battery option with a wire coming out that connects to your e-bike battery very cool!!! Cheers!!!
Yeah love that dummy battery solution Glenn, you would love it! As for the SRAMano setul, still scratching my head...
I just checked prices on this system and it's revolting to say the least. The thing many people do not think about is that your arms are tied when you commit to an ideology like this where everything is supposed to be so easy.
The XX and XX SL set prices are ridiculous, yes you can buy old car for such price!!!
Well said sir ! 👏
Hopefully sram next develop a hoseless brake😂😂
8:13 fez força para o lado errado!
hmm você pode ter um ponto? Deixe-me tentar...
I don’t want a battery powered derailleur period.
50 Years from now you'll be able to replace a shifter cable, an XX derailleur lithium battery? Good luck
I completely agree! Don’t want battery on derailleur systems!
Too expensive and too heavy, don't think I'll bother
Sorry but the pinion is the future
Time will tell...
Except for the efficiency loss. Racers will likely never accept that.
Sram sandwich 🥪
Pretty much!
Bikes are getting too damn expensive... Buy a car...it has come full circle...
