I just started on this project. This is my first stitch past the single crochet. It’s looking so good so far and I’m so proud of myself. I did mine two squares wider across. I’ve already finished my first skeen after 3 rows….it’s going to be a lot of yarn!
After wat hung this I've made a lap blanket for my 87yrs uncle in chenille yarn and then did a fan border. Just awaiting impending to join your Facebook page then I'll send a picture, anyhow uncle phoned me up to say he loved it and was looking at all the stitches to see how it was made. Thank you so much for teaching me this stitch.😍😘
I'm using the herringbone half stitch I learned from you with this velvet plus yarn. It is gorgeous! The yarn really shows the herringbone pattern. I'm making a throw pillow.
So I've invented the best way to keep yarn from changing tension... I got a box big enough to keep my project in, a paint roller, and zip ties. I zip tied the paint roller to the side of the box so it's sticking straight up out and then I put the skein of yarn straight through the center on the paint roller and bam! No unwanted yarn tension throughout the entirety of the skein. I really hate having to stop every few seconds to pull out more yarn
I just finished mine but used a 12. 0 hook. I started off trying to use the 10. but felt it was too stiff for my liking. loved the way blanket came out. thank you for the pattern 💡
I've made a basket weave throw before with regular yarn. Love the chenille look and feel, but believe my wrist, hands and elbows would be in pain, from crocheting for many decades. This is a beautiful blanket. Thank you !🧶👏🏼👍🏼
With this yarn I pull out the fluffy material from the 2 threads that hold it together And then knot that off. And I do the same thing to the new skein of yarn that I'm just starting. Then I take the threads from the old and the new skeins and tie them together tightly, knotting them off several times. The end result is a seamless look with no bulges. Super simple and effective.
Love this pattern!! Turning the 19 chain test patch into a lovely scarf. I only had the Bernat Velvet on hand, so it's a lighter weight. Your tutorials are The Best! Thank you 😊
I love this pattern but I am confused about the border. Am I doing double crochet all the way around? With 3 in the corners? I also needed more yarn. I think my gage was off but it’s still beautiful!
Gorgeous! I have purchased the yarn for this throw but now am wondering though, since the Velvet Plus is hand wash only and this blanket ends up to be roughly 8 pounds, wouldn't it weigh an unmanageable ton when wet? Does anyone have any experience with this?
I did a baby blanket with the regular Bernat velvet yarn and it was very heavy trying to handwash it in my sink. And after handwashing the regular velvet yarn I started to get loops that pulled out from "worming". I love the yarn but the after care is too much
Beautiful blanket and stitch , thank you for your wonderful tutorial to share it with us. Just one question how can I change the size to make a smaller blanket?
Such a gorgeous blanket!! I'm still a newbie, but you're such a great teacher, that you make it seem achievable. Thank you for such thoughtful instruction.
I'm so excited that you have uploaded a new pattern. It is absolutely gorgeous. The yarn is so pretty. I love all your patterns. They are amazing. I have made several of your designs. At the moment, I am working on the "Crochet Hygge Moss Blanket". It is so much fun. It's the first time I've used the Hygge yarn and I love it.
This is gorgeous. I am in love with velvet yarn but have experienced worming. I have the bulky velvet from Mainstays. Did you have any issues with worming?
This stuff is so fun to work with and when finished you have a weighted blanket! Love the one I made! But be ware .... lint / fuzz all over my black clothes I wore to work. wonk wonk but worth it/
I am brand new, self-taught (RUclips taught) to crochet. I just finished all the squares, but obviously there is something done to the edges. Can you tell me if there is a video explaining what to do next?
Hi. I noticed a border as well. Looks like a row of double crochet in each stitch all the way around, putting 3 double crochets in each corner stitch. Good luck! 👍
Great like always! Question I only have the medium size 4 yarn. Will it look good if I make it with this? I'll probably have to go with 10 stitches each. What do you suggest? Thank you for sharing your knowledge
I'm crocheting this now. I bought 12 skeins but may get more. I thought the 64 chains was the width but it actually may be the length? I'm making mine bigger so I'm going to order more for the border which I hope will be easy. It's very heavy but comfortable!
Your blanket is absolutely beautiful! I would love to try this! I don't have the Bernat Plus, but, do you think this will work with the regular velvet yarn? Thank you so much for sharing your talent!
I made a basket weave throw blanket back in Oct 2020 with the regular velvet yarn and it work just fine. If you want to get the same length and width that she did with this current throw than you would obviously need to chain more as the regular velvet is a thinner yarn so it will take more stitches to get the desired size. I’ve been doing basket weave for years, it’s my favorite stitch pattern to do when I make things. I use basket weave for my mug cozy’s, scarves, my blankets, my hats, etc. You can also do the same pattern with regular yarn. You can use any yarn you want and based on the thickness of the yarn would depend on how many chains you would need. Like if you went and bought that really really thick yarn that people finger crochet with then it wouldn’t take as much chains as this current pattern for this video. As it wouldn’t take as many stitches to get to your desired size. Not sure if that helps or makes any sense. You can also do a mini basket weave which is just alternating between front post and back post double crochet and then doing the opposite on the next row and repeat that process throughout.
@@DaisyFarmCrafts do you think it would be a good idea to use regular velvet but use double strands to increase the thickness? Aside from the obvious cost for increasing your yarn.
i have done this teal and it bleeds slightly I washed some left over yarn and my water was blue. when I washed really good and rinsed there was no more bleeding. I was so upset while I makeing this my shirt was slightly teal blue enough to look like it was dirty.
I just started crochet this week. And this demonstration was calm, slow and just what I needed. Blanket is gorgeous. Can’t wait to try this out later!

I used a bigger hook too for the same reason.
How long did it take you to finish your blanket?

Oh I am so making this, !I really like the tutorial on adding new skeins too, b/c I plan to change colors throughout the throw.
I love this pattern but I am confused about the border. Am I doing double crochet all the way around? With 3 in the corners? I also needed more yarn. I think my gage was off but it’s still beautiful!
How many skeins did it take to make this blanket? Can’t wait to start on it! Thank you for sharing!

How would I adjust the pattern for a king size throw using a super chunky yarn and a 20 or 25 mm hook....
Wonderful yarn
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Beautiful!!! 😍😍🥰🌷Thank you! 🙏🏻
How many balls did you use to make the large throw? It’s beautiful
Hi , the tutorial says 9
Very pretty!
I already have 6 of that yarn that I bought a while back. Can you tell me how to change the numbers to make a smaller one? Thank you..
Is your beautiful blanket heavy? I am finishing a smaller version with polyester version of velvet. It's really heavy.
How many balls of yarn did you use. Thank for the tutorial
I don't know much about reading patterns but I definitely want to crochet this throw. Where do I purchase the pattern?
May I ask how many scans you used to make this lovely blanket?
I love to make it .
Thank you
Just beautiful
Absolutely gorgeous! 👍🥰

Tiffany do you crochet on the loose or tight side I really want to try this but wondering if I might need another skein ? ( I crochet tighter )
Is it possible to use 2 different colors with this pattern? If so how would you rotate the 2 colors?
i have done this teal and it bleeds slightly I washed some left over yarn and my water was blue. when I washed really good and rinsed there was no more bleeding. I was so upset while I makeing this my shirt was slightly teal blue enough to look like it was dirty.
Can you use a smaller yarn, I have some velvet yarn , but it’s smaller.
How would this pattern work with Variegated color yarn?
Do you think this would work with the Bernat Tie Dye-ish yarn?
Did you make a border around the blanket.
Just love it! thanx for the video
I'm having a hard time getting my chain to measure 40". I'm using the same yarn weight just not the Velvet Plus and I'm using a 10m needle. HELP
So this is 12 over and 12 up for each block?
Nice,I will try too
how many skeins did you use? this looks amazing!
I was thinking of asking the same thing. Thank you for asking.
She used 9 Skeins
@@angelb3252 she used 9 Skeins. It’s written on the video when she talks about the yarn she used in the beginning of the video.
I am going to do this lovely pattern instead of the Harrington one! Thank you I am so excited!
