  • This video is a quick Boeing 777x Documentary. As we all know, the Boeing 777x, in particular the 777-9 took its 777x first flight just recently, on the 25 January 2020. The 777x first flight was an epic one, but the story doesn’t just start or end there. The development of the Boeing 777x was tough, and Boeing still has to certify and deliver the first aircraft to Emirates. In this Boeing 777x documentary, we will have a look at how the largest widebody twin had came to be, the Boeing 777x. Thanks for watching and do consider subscribing for more great Aviation Content on the way! Till we meet next time, wishing everyone, a truly clear sky ahead!

    Lets hope this bastardisation of the previous 777 works better than the 'flying coffin' 737 Max that had some similar revisions that made it totally unstable and not airworthy. Hope the 777X works well but have big issues with flying on Boeing until their products are proved for a long time.

      Bozzie - true, until Airbus produces the A350neo, possibly this decade. Then the economics will firmly favour the A350 with its composite fuselage over the metal fuselage of the 777x. I wonder why Quantas chose the A350 beyond it being readily available at the time.

      @@oneskyflyer So basically, an A350neo with a 12% engine efficiency will leave the 777 in the dust; a B787neo will bury the A330 neo program altogether most likely. Interesting times ahead.

    Isn't it premature to say the B777-9 will be the best wide body to fly. It is not in commercial revenue service unlike the A350-1000. Unlike the A350-1000, the B777-9 is a rehash older design, that is longer, more fuel efficient and has bigger engines. What until the number crunchers get their hands and install abreast seating like what has happen with the previous B777 type.

      Chris McKellar good point, the reality is that the 777x is a 25 year old aircraft design with new wings and more efficient engines. The A350 and 787 is miles ahead of it in design and new technology.

      SP64 yes, I agree on that, Airbus did exactly the same with the A330neo. Both the 777x and the A330neo had relatively small development costs, 5 and 2 billion US dollars. And they both have sold around 300 aircraft each since their program realised 7 years ago.

      @@oneskyflyer : Thanks for your comment. My heart is with Boeing, they designed some great aircraft in the past. But the reality is Boeing was too much under the pressure of the financial world, to make profit and just make profit. That kind of pressure is bound to lead to mistakes. 737 was a superb plane, but it was designed when the engines were slim do it cannot acomodate those fat, high bypass turbofans. A total redesign or a new plane was needed, but the beancounters decided otherwise. This debacle is frankly no surprise.

  • @realestateunplugged6129
    @realestateunplugged6129 4 года назад +4

    The 777X tears apart the a350, and the a350 is arguably airbus' best work. From a customer's perspective the 777 is 16inches wider, has the largest/highest windows, is the greenest and the most cost effective aircraft in the world. And from a power and aesthetic point of view, look at how long this beast is(longest in the world), look at those GE90 engines(largest in the world) and look at those swept back HUGE folding wings! That's why the a350 only has half the orders of the 777X series, and I imagine the only reason for any a350 orders at all when the 777X is on the market is because Airbus is propped up by European tax money and probably had to give those a350's away at a loss since airbus isn't a real market company that has to play by normal market rules like Boeing. Even though airbus is a cheating undercutting unprofitable oligarchy organization of the European Union mentality, they still cannot and never will be able to beat a real market aircraft manufacturer like Boeing. As long as the government stays out of the way, a real market company will always smash false oligarchy organizations "companies" as a basic rule of thumb.

    • @realestateunplugged6129

      Mark Corfield - Not without subsidy from airbus. And whats with Quantas flirting with the a350 for project sunrise, I mean for the same seating configuration across the width you've got 16" more room on the 777 not to mention the being the most cost effective and greenest aircraft in the world plis the largest windows!
