@@Caswell_Official I forgot about that one. That is funny that this video says this is the 2nd time Boeing redesigned wings on a plane. Even the 737 NG’s and MAX also had wing design changes.

I'm wondering how can the FAA certifies that plane, It does not make sense. Sometimes, if not even most, the FAA allows Boeing to investigate itself and takes appropriate action to ensure safety. However, for Being safety means safeguarding the wealth of its shareholders, NOT the safety of its passengers, unfortunately. What makes things even worst is that the FAA is aware of it.

What worries me is that the 777-300er flies 13,650km with 396 pax according to Boeing and 777-9 13,500 with 412 pax. Not much of difference but when comparing fuel capacity the 777-300er 181,300L & 777-9 198,000L. Where's the fuel savings? I know that the 777-9 has more capacity but is that enough? A350-1000 flies 16,100km (much further) with 350-410 pax according to Airbus, which is similar. However they do it with much less fuel 159,000L !!! Of course there are benefits to a more modern plane but I don't see the savings. Houston, we got a problem...
I doubt delta will, as they retired their 777 fleet, and are going airbus for their long hauls. But, I have a feeling United might just order if they get a discount from Boeing. Which has happened before.
I can't wait to see the new GE-9X's on a 777-X, they're HUGE!!! The 777 is a great aircraft, I've flown on one many times and it's always been a comfortable experience.... even in cattle class.... so the larger X should be even nicer. A real threat to the A350-1000's, so we'll see which one is better.
Competition is what makes them both better,& both r good.I just think the 777x is a better looking plane. Its a little larger more powerful but the Airbus might have a little lower cost to operate.
If Boeing wants to take advantage of their new 777X aircraft, I think they should also offer a twinjet domestic variant for Indian, Chinese and Japanese market, just like what Boeing did with 747-400D to the Japanese market. Range may be slashed by half but it’s frequency shelf life can be double by half due to tailored landing gear for domestic travel, which could withstand wear and tear. If a double decker is no longer feasible (A380 looking at you), then the best Boeing can do is to go with a domestic variant of 777-10 that could sit between 500-600 people. Say it comes out in 2030 after Boeing sorts out its issues, it really could put the A380 out of pasture for good.
I love the 777, but I'm not thrilled about them putting the 787-type windows in. I like to look out, and take pictures, and it's nice to be able to do that without opening up the entire window and get the sun in your eyes. With the normal blinds, you can just pull it up enough for your camera lens to fit under. The dimmable windows blocks out the light all right, but does radiate heat like an oven.
I am looking forward to see the Boeing 777X flying very very, soon. American 🇺🇸 , Delta and United (very first ever Boeing 777 launch customer back in 1995), better invest in these.

I'd love to know exactly the reason why Boeing decided not to make the fuselage out of composite materials. It seems that using aluminium is an inferior material.
Simply put, scale. Composite bodies require an autoclave to cure, and the 787 already required building the largest ever in the world, at great difficulty and cost. The 777X is even larger, so would be even more expensive and add years to the already delayed delivery date.
Watching this in 2024 and boy, things have gone from WORST to WORST EVER situation for Boeing. Not only is the plane still more than a year for being certified and the people who were supposed to make them are now on strike.
Considering that it is not a new plane but mainly an update to the wings and new engines they have surprisingly long development times. But it is good to see that the FAA appears to no longer rubber stamp all Boeing products.

Except no one has flown on it yet… “ I can assure you..” LMAO
How does the a340 fit so many people!! It’s both shorter and narrower than the 777-9
777-10? Oh, a Triple 7, Triple XXX! Sweet!
