As a British soldier, I still regret the demise of the Scottish Regiments to their current titles. The Royal Regiment of Scotland will never have the same kudos as The Argyles, The Black Watch, The Queens Own to name a few of the splendid regiments in history who served with destinations. Not to belittle the professionalism of the Jocks on parade that day.
@@johnwalker4089 How and why precisely. I'm ex highland regiment in the Canadian Army we used to have a Sergeant from another highland regiment from the British Army he said Jocks just the same.
@@johnwalker4089, I just confirmed with a young jock currently serving in 5 Scots, (A&SH). He confirms the regular use of the term Jock when referring to the private soldiers, and was shocked that an Ex Argyle would think otherwise especially with the racism being mentioned. 🏴
Great video. The ignorance of the people who get in the faces or under the feet of the troops with their phones and cameras always astounds me. I almost want to see them get trampled
When I was in the U.S. Marine Corps I helped bury a fellow Marine killed in Vietnam. Brought his body back. During the procession to the grave site three anti war protestors got in front and in our faces. One got his foot trampled by the right leading Marine, and stumbled backwards into the grave. We stood with the coffin until family members and other Marines pulled his dumb ass out of the grave and escorted him and the other two out of the cemetery by their hair. Talk about getting underfoot.
@@williamdrylie7951 I realize that this would have further delayed the burial of a brave Marine, but it would have been almost justifiable to push the dirt onto that moron while he was still six feet under.

The scot regiment has always fascinated me, the song Scotland the brave has a heart warming tune, and the part of the dwarf horse is so cute, the men serving in this regiment are very lucky, a superb drill overall.
@nokman Konya, this dwarf horse is called a Shetland pony. His ancestors came from the Shetland Islands to the north of Scotland. Lance Corporal Cruachan IV, the Shetland Pony Mascot, has been with the Regiment for 4 years. He is the 4th such pony in the Regiment. He is a most cherished and loved member of his group. The Shetland Pony is tiny, developed in an environment that had the weather of the Atlantic on one side and the North Sea on the other. Tiny they are, 9 hands to their withers. Over the years, they have worked underground in coal mines, ploughed the fields on land, and were used for many many children as riding companions. My black Shetland named Teddy lived for 33 years. He was very very cunning. 🐎🐎🐎🏴🏴🏴
As a former soldier in the Scottish Division I find the marching on of the colours at such speed, a lack of respect for the colours and undignified. In fact this is a guards tradition!
