I purchased a similar compressor except mine came with a tank which I prefer for longer sessions to keep a more consistent pressure to avoid pulsing. My first airbrush was a Badger 105 Patriot Xtreme which a regret buying because Badger parts are now next to impossible to get in Canada. While not as cheap as Amazon brushes, if I were to start again, I would point people to the Harder & Steenbeck Ultra 2024. It's basically a brush with training wheels. The ring sets how far back you can pull, and is labeled for primer and different levels of shading, and a full open for cleaning or non guided painting. It's mechanism also forces you to push down for air before pulling back for paint. All of these features help new airbrush uses build up a good muscle memory for using one, and it can be carried over to any other dual action brush. Great vid Dave.

My old compressor is several years old so that could be the diff. I'd say the difference is if you are new to airbrushing and unsure about it or know you want to learn it. If you are all in I would spend more on the initial brush but if you are unsure I'd start with a good cheaper option until you know if you will continue with it and then upgrade.
I think its a good starter kit. If you are using it alot you can always upgrade to a badger or iwata brush if you outgrow the abilities of the kit one, but the accessories and compressor you'll have forever :)
