I have to be honest, when Jolyne's handcuff disappeared during the Visitor arc I thought Jotaro just flexed using Star Platinum: The World and didn't say anything.
Personally I prefer the anime's ending to the Miraschon fight. In the manga Jolyne kinda just brute forced her way to a victory by beating up Miraschon until she was unconscious, whereas in the anime it was changed to her outsmarting Miraschon and using Miraschon's own tactic of bending the gamble's rules against her. To me a clever victory feels much more satisfying
But why did the stand gave back the disc and hermes liver , before jolyne completed the challenge In the manga she gave back hermes liver because jolyne threathened her
@@Sami.DPassionMangas In the anime the stuff is returned because some of it was taken before she had actually lost. As for Hermes liver, idk, mightve been a fairness thing.
I didn't realise they removed so much, but honestly except for a few of them I think it had a good influence on the part, it's much more fast paced now and the newly added scenes help stich together the arcs. Animaton wise it's great but I don't think it reaches part 5 level animaton. It's probs due to covid but in some scenes the faces look a bit off and noticable Cgi scenes are kinda offputing at some points, but I still think it's a great adaption and I like the approach Dp has taken.
@@therobotfromirobot Like I didn't mind the 3D animation on Manhattan Transfer and White Snake, but Lang Rangler switching between 2D and 3D every other shot was a little off-putting to me...
Small correction: Gwess telling jolyne she can sleep in the lower bunk is not removed, it's moved to the end of their fight, when jolyne is about to beat goo goo dolls to a pulp.
While I do think the anime did some good calls in regards to tightening up some aspects of the story and making things more coherent for some to understand what's going on, I can't help but think of all the little world building elements that got cut out in the process. Part of why I love Stone Ocean so much is because it's when Araki got really good at writing minor characters that help reinforce events going on in the story that aren't explicitly about the main characters or the problems their facing. Like the barber who sets a good example of how important money is to the daily lives of prisoners and prison staff. I hope they'll start to add in more small moments later on as some arcs like how "Made in Heaven" is affecting everyone around the world is what makes part 6 unique from other adventures.
This was the first time I read the jojo manga before watching the anime and honestly, I missed alot of the "flavor scenes" which they removed. Those scenes in the manga helped create the more oppressive, corrupt shithole setting of GD St. Prison and a bunch of them ironically also helped lighten the mood. I can see why people prefer this but I personally liked the pace of SO so :P. Here's to hope they don't trim any content from the actual fights in the punishment ward especially from Guard Westwood, that shit would be amazing to see animated.
Losing the vast majority of the little worldbuilding details is a really big bummer to me, the setting feels a lot less fleshed out than it did in the manga, and that's a shame because that's probably what Araki's the best at. Since this IP is (unfortunately) a Netflix thing now, woulda been nice if we could have gotten some slightly longer episodes that kept a lot of that dialogue and description in tact. I'm hoping they're trimming now to avoid trimming later and the rest of the part will be mostly untouched.
I especially miss the scene where Jolyne had to pay for her own hair, idk it always stood out to me because it helps really sell how comically unregulated and corrupt GD is. I feel like the more interesting intro details in SO were cut, and the anime's pacing at the beginning is just a bit too fast as a result imo
@@xblade149 I disagree, other than the hierarchy and money things they've done very little in the anime, and corridors/other places being devoid of life with the ocassional grey silhouette cutouts of people just make it feel even less like G.D
they announced it months ago that all Disney character references will be changed to warner brothers cartoons references... just some licensing issues.
People don't realize how big the difference of Hermes not meeting Anasui will be. If we follow the manga, Anasui and Hermes will meet at the end of the Heavy Weather arc for the first time! (You can argue Hermes and Weather meet while they're both injured, Weather from the Lang Rangler fight, Hermes from Sports Maxxx)
To be fair, I always found her lack of interaction with Anasui to be strange. Even in the manga version, she only briefly sees Anasui in the ghost room and doesn't talk to him, so they were never properly introduced. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they exchange a single line of dialog for the entire part.
Noticed a mistake. The monologue with Pucci isn't really new, it's moved from the scene with Miraschon. Also him talking about the cherries is shortened.
I read the manga some time ago, so I couldn't pinpoint exactly what changed, but I felt like the beginning was rushed as fuck. It's still really good, and if rushing the beginning leads us to quality middle and end I'm all for it. I'm still very happy with what we got so far !
There’s actually a big difference that you missed Hamok Beat. In the manga, in the visitor’s arc, when the blonde guard tries to hit Jolyne, Jotaro stops time just after a bullet hits his arm. Then the manga shows how Manhattan Transfer works by showing the trayectory the bullet made, and then time resumes again and the bullet kills the guard. In the anime this is skipped and Jotaro and the guard are just shot normally.
A minor change, but I am GLAD Star Platinum looked more like his usual self, than in the Manga where SP is so thin and Jotaro also looked less stiff. Both Jotaro and SP looked superior to their manga counterparts
@@IAm-zo1bo wrong. he legit looks younger trough parts. he literally looked like he is in his late 30s in part 3 and in part 4 he looked around 22 or sum.
I don't mind the minor changes at all, now it actually feels better paced for an animated series. Most scenes, especially panels in the beginning would've been dragging on over 1-2 Episodes. As for the copyright changes , there's nothing they could've done about Disney, at least they changed it to Warner originals.
I did like how the Manhattan Transfer fight is made more clear as to what is happening, but I still have no idea why White Snake allowed Manhattan Transfer to be be depicted EXACTLY as how it works in the real world. It would have been a great advantage to basically misrepresent how the stand works within the dream, unless Jotaro already knew what the ability was and wouldn't be fooled otherwise. Not sure if that was ever addressed.
White Snake does not care if Jongalli wins or not as long as he acts as a distraction to Jotaro, if Jotaro learns how Manhattan Transfer works, then he's even more likely to be protective of Jolyne from it. So everything works out perfectly for Pucci.
I actually thought the reason White Snake allowed Manhattan Transfer's ability to be shown is to trick Jotaro and Jolyne into thinking that they're still in the dream once they see it in the real world.
A tiny one, but similar to Anasui: in the manga Jolyne's lawyer's ears get longer with each new panel he's in. In the anime he's an elf right from the start English Dub: F-Bombs have now been added to the arsenal.
When it came to Gwess giving Jolyne the bottom bunk, Gwess pleads to Jolyne to let go of her stand when she grew back telling her she can have the bunk if she wouldn’t be mad at her, only to then trip her back into the gated doors and call the guards. I believe they added that extra scene of Jolyne and Gwess at night to show that Gwess was serious after her beat down and didn’t want her to be mad and that reminding us of the bottom bunk would prove to be redundant.
Another important difference is the manga shows how Jolyne sneaks her threads through the gate before punching Gwess. In the anime, she just magically punches her (and we can infer how she did it), but the manga actually shows how she got her stand through the gate to deliver the punch
@NoEzoEz Her string is part of her body, so even though it's a stand its reasonable to assume that it's range and ability to move through things are inhibited. I wouldn't take my word for it though because I don't remember part 6 too well.
It's done differently in the anime, when she punches Gwess, you can actually see the marks of the bars on Stone Free's hands (Like, it squished through using string powers, but is done in a way that's easier to animate and harder to understand.)
I especially noticed many different things in the first episode. Pretty much the stuff that was removed. But I understand that because mabye they had to shorten the length of the episode. I think I remember the end of the Marilyn manson fight being different, I haven't watched the video yet so I'll see. Yeah I knew they changed the end of the Marilyn manson fight. I prefer it in the manga and I don't like that they changed/skipped some parts in the fight like the basketball distracting them. I agree some changes apart from the 1st episode feels like the story is being rushed.
@@SirStrugglesAlot yeah but sometimes it feels rushed too. But overall it was still a good adaptation. I really enjoyed the jumping jack flash fight in the anime.
Yeah, if there's an issue I've got to the anime is they don't question much the color choices made by Shueisha when it comes to certain things, so you get Rangler's shoulders colored as if it were his armor or something, sadness
I did my own manga to anime comparison, and yea there's a lot of removed dialogue and scenes, but i cant be mad because they're either minor details or humorous moments. Overall i still love part 6 anime but i worry how netflix makes david pro work on this show
Netflix is only distributing the anime outside Japan. The case here seems to be that the studio learned from Part 3 and they're trimming unnecesary stuff to the plot.
Now it makes sense why I thought the episodes seemed so fast paced. It felt like they gave a barebones telling of the story. Hopefully it becomes more detail oriented when the next 2 batches of episodes come out since I guess this first batch was to set up the characters, their abilities and the point of the story.
The first 2 episodes cut lot of things because how long they are in a chapter in the manga. Chapter 1 is 47 pages and chapter 2 is 27. But they still do a good job by only animating the most important part to the story. They wanna hook the anime viewer by ending the first episode in a good climax. If they follow the manga 1:1, the episode will end pretty odd and not like other jojo parts.
I think this didn't matter all that much because of the batched episodes. Why bother about hooks when people don't really need to be hooked? they will probably just watch the next episodes right away.
@@guru3468 They also have time constraints because each episode has a set duration. Leaving some things out helps to improve the flow of the story too.
@@JoseKvar Aren't these straight to Netflix and not airing in a broadcast slot? If that's the case then there is no set duration, any episode can be any length it wants to be.
I want them to make it slower and add even more backstory outside of manga like what they did for part 5. I love Jojo and prefer it to have more worldbuilding and character interactions. I think that the slice of life stuff episodes like in part 4 are really great like eating at the Italian restaurant, Josuke trying to cheat Rohan in gambling, etc. Really adds more to the world and the characters.
After reading the manga a year or two ago, going into this I expected there to be changes, but I didn’t realize how much was actually changed. I remember always thing part 6’s first half was pretty slow, really picking up in the latter half inside the punishment ward and after jail house lock. So then going a bit faster with the early part doesn’t really bother me, if anything i can see it turning out better than the manga
I don't like this "focused" thing... i love when there's slow pacing, i love lots of fun filler moments. That's the reason why fight with Dio from Part 3 looks much better in the OVA than in the Anime. Lots of filler moments to feel the moment. Basically... fast pacing ruins this word that i hate... ah yes, "immersion"
@@KeyleeTamirian The part 6 manga is notorious for feeling bloated. If they kept in all the details, the part would've ended up like part 3, a part where a lot of people drop JoJo because it is far too long for its own sake. Condensing the story so it flows better not only improves on the issues of the manga, but will keep people watching. The world is still as immersive in the manga and they kept the right amount of detail. The prison still has character, but it doesn't bring down the pacing of the story.
There is people actually complaining about the animation?! You are not used to seeing bad animation...the animation, colors and scenes are god tier for the industry
@@lonewolf9578 There's some CGI that are good, like Stone Free strings, the baseball ball from Emporio, those random letter that floats around the characters sometimes
IDK it looks like people wanted the characters to have a bunch of random lines all over them and to make them move like mannequins, cuz they keep saying that part 5 looked better
I like the changes for the most part, everything feels tighter and quicker. A biiit to fast but its all cool. Cant wait for the next batch of episodes.
I had a really great watching the first episode batch, didn’t notice that there were quite a few changes other than the mentions of Tom cruise and the Ermes ghost room thing
The line about sleeping in the bottom bunk inst skipped gwess says it before tricking jolyne and pushing her into the corridor, which implies that she complied with it after after her loss
i think the hair scene in the manga was important because it characterized her, was funny, connected her to jotaro, and also was kinda progressive. the same with the transgender scene. araki is chill with making a female lead who's badass and a great fighter and tactician but who still has traditional gendered qualities. i'm not saying this quite right, but it's cool that he doesn't make her super masculine, as if that's the only way a woman can be strong. also, i miss the slower beginning, you lose out on the world building, tension, and smaller touches
After seeing the strip search, anime onlies reactors are now under the impression that Jolyne is shameless and doesn't care at all, but the transgender scene showed her blushing and embarrassed when she saw the naked dude in the line while she was also naked. Those kinds of details tell you so much about Jolyne outside of the fights.
@@jo2399 the first scene of episode 1 is literally jolyne crying being embarrassed about being seen masturbating by a dude though. That should be enough to tell anyone shes not completely shameless. especially when its men viewing her
@@GelatinousGoop True. It does place emphasis in a bit of a less comedic tone but yeah, guess so. Still, the strip search was enough to wipe their memory of the beginning while the transgender dude scene came right after as a reminder that she was only "comfortable" in her own skin because they were women who were inspecting before, not dudes.
@@jo2399 tbh, I thought that she was that shameless on the scene due to her hearing or knowing that the guards intended on humiliating her and she replied by acting boldly to provoke, surprise or catch them off guard thus ruining their plans to humiliate her? Seems like a typical Jojo trope where the main cast turns the table against an enemy that thinks they have an advantage against them
Yeah I agree, this scene was the cut that bugged me the most. There's a ton of detail in the first couple Stone Ocean chapters so I get having to cut some of it, but I do feel like it makes the anime version pretty definitively weaker.
I find the notion of exclusions being ok just because "it wasn't necessary to the story or anything" very faulty. These little random charming moments define JoJo and the removal of some of the dialogue definitely worsens the worldbuilding for the prison. Imagine if they removed the scene with the gang kicking that innocent guy because they thought he was an enemy in Part 5. Better yet, imagine if they cut the Torture Dance scene, it was just four little panels anyway and it didn't add anything to the story right?
It’s mainly because it would effect the pacing of the episode even though it may sound bad at first it actually makes sense when you watch the episode and see that it doesn’t change how good the story is these changes were made specifically to help make the anime play out better and make it easier for the animators but I understand what you mean with the world building
This is exactly what i was going to say, even tough i understand that some cuts were necessary for the pacing i still think they rushed some bits and stretched others, kinda skipped what makes the manga so interesting
I was upset at first, but then I remembered that the removal doesn't invalidate those scenes or the manga. In the end of the day, they're separate mediums and both JoJo. If people love the anime and want more, they can just go read the manga and appreciate all the stuff the anime didn't have. It makes the manga even more valuable since it has interactions that are exclusive to it.
To all those people who are wondering if it's worth reading the manga when they've already watched the anime, this is the answer. The anime doesn't have everything. So yes, it's worth reading the manga.
I wondering if maybe they’ll have a scene of Ermes in the ghost room at the start of the next episode. They could use it as an excuse to do a bit of a recap since they know it’ll be a while between episode 12 and 13.
The only thing I wish they kept in was how the reason Jolyne was able to wear her clothes instead of the prison uniform was because she bribed the guards with money to be allowed the freedom of wearing what she wanted. The other prisoners who wear unique clothes did the same thing Edit: JESUS. FUCKING. CHRIST. I get it ok? It was a scene where she bribes the guard to keep her hair. Wow. Really beat that into the ground, I sure have learned my lesson guys. Thanks a lot. I’m so glad everyone fixated on that and missed to entire point where the reason she’s able to keep her individuality like her hair and clothes is as a result of bribing the guards, and how that might have been a good scene to include. That was all I was trying to say. Also, even if that scene is specifically about Jolyne bribing the guard to let her keep her hair, she still gets to keep her clothes as a result of that same bribe too, so I wasn’t even really off the mark anyways.
Thats not a scene, you might be thinking of Jolyne bribing the hair dresser to be able to keep her hair. All the prisoners in Green Dolphin only need to wear the prison bracelets including their number, and they ALL have "G.D.St Jail" in their backs instead of a uniform, Jolyne doesn't have it because she already wears the prison jacket it most of the time, and that jacket already has that written on the back.
Honestly things like the "change" from day to night are just really interesting trivia, I'd love to hear about the more interesting examples of that in the videos
I feel like parts that have large sections that take place in 1 area, like parts 4, 6, and from what I've seen of 8, really benefit from small scenes that help show off the world their in, as we'll be spending almost all of the time there. So a lot of small scenes in SO that fleshed out the prison and how everyone interacts being removed does harm the setting I feel.
I had basically forgotten a lot of the details that the manga had when I first read it and watching the anime everything feels great to me. I don't think it harmed anything.
Honestly, I kinda like the changes in the pacing. They make it work for an anime where everything is much more focused and condensed. It really works to keep up the pace for the anime and they didn't cut too many important scenes, minus the scene with Hermes meeting Weather and Anasui. Also, maybe it's just me, but I feel like part 6 has a much smoother artstyle than part 5 with its jagged lines and characters
Am i the only one who doesn't like fast pacing? Fast pacing makes the episode end right when it gets interesting. Makes me thirsty for having more. It's like finishing eating a meal right when you got into the taste. Right when you immerse yourself, it ends. I want more. I wish that they had more episodes so episodes could be longer. Seriously, Stardust Crusaders has the best pacing out of all JoJo seasons due to them not removing content... ...kinda ironic how in the past, people called moments that were not in the manga and added to the anime as "Filler" (I'm talking about Anime in general), and now people call moments cut from the manga as "Filler"... What if those moments were THE EXACT THING some people wanted to see in adaptation? Fuck the story, fuck the pacing, i want MOMENTS to be adapted.
@@KeyleeTamirian Fast pacing is sometimes just better. And you have to understand that ALL manga has stuff that can't be adapted as manga is inherently a different format from anime.
@@nuibaba280 Yeah yeah, "Different format" excuse, of course. I've seen lots of examples that contradict this excuse, so it won't work. I'm currently watching lots of 90's anime, and they have rather slow pacing which is just gorgeous. As the actual plots of the episodes are shorter, but filled with tons of moments that make every scene feel memorable. Fast Pacing is for people with short attention span... Not to mention that lots of 90's anime were filled with fillers, which are fun to me. I'd prefer Miraschon fight to take 2 episodes, but with more details to each scene.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Gwess saying that Jolyne can sleep on the bottom bunk just moved instead of completely removed? I'm pretty sure Gwess said so during their fight to bargain with Jolyne to not hurt her. I don't know, maybe my memory's fuzzy.
I don't get how the heck people be seeing bad animation in part 6, yes I notice the occasionally CGI scene but it doesn't bother me, part 6 has done a great job adaption wise?
Correct me if I’m wrong about this, but I think you missed a difference: In the manga when Jolyne meets Pucci for the first time after the Lang Rangler fight, Jolyne in her thoughts says that she recognizes Pucci as the prison’s priest and wonders what he’s doing at the factory. However, in the anime, it’s made rather clear that Jolyne has absolutely no clue who Pucci is (Other than that he’s some sort of religious figure), and her thoughts about recognizing him and wondering what he’s doing there are now given to Weather Report.
Can’t wait for you to have to make yet another “Araki Forgot” episode for Part 6 after the anime ends to correct all the misconceptions anime onlies will have
Thank you for doing this so quickly. It's good you are doing this even though its coming in batches. I have read the early chapters of the manga and I did note some differences so it's great to see all of them in a video.
I just hope the bohemian rhapsody arc is all about copyright characters at all. If they just made jojo original ocs it would ruin the appeal of the fight.
Personally i think the reason they changed johngalli A’s vision style is because the clouds may have made it look like he was physically forming the cloud in front of him
I didn't even realize how much scenes they removed... a bit too much if you ask me. Now i know why the anime felt so fast compared to the manga. Some of the scenes they should have kept imo
I don't feel like the changes made feel story rushed - I think they made it pretty well for good animation event flow. I think while reviewing such changes we really often forget, that for making good animation/ movie, event flow has to be made to feel story as fluid, hanging on edge, consistent etc
I like to think that the ghost room scene takes place like this: Manga: Annasui just got in the room while using his stand to go in the female section and hermes got here shortly after Anime: since the scene is added later, annasui got in the room quite some time ago and deactivated his stand then jolyne came in.
One thing i hate about part 6 in general is that the technology doesn't stand for its time aka the fact that there are no smartphones, flat screens,1080p,anything that the real 2011 had (and yes i know that araki wrote da manga in 2000 - 2003 and these things didnt exist back then but couldn't they change it for the anime)
It really seems to me that David Production has been making more and more changes in each part as they go along. I think it's a mix of the fact that they have been building up trust with fans for a decade now and them developing more storytelling skills in-house to flex with and feel confident in tweaking things for animation. When they started making JoJo's in 2012, they only had 5 smaller series under their belt as a studio. I am just stoked that we're finally at Stone Ocean. It's my favorite part!!
About Mirachon fight, people talking that they made Jolyne awesome to outsmart Miraschon... But don't you think that they dumbed down Miraschon for that? In the manga Miraschon asked the guard to drop the ball after catching it. In the Anime... he just catches it. Don't you think she would most likely ask him to drop the ball to win the bet? So yeah, i don't like when in order to make a protagonist smarter, we have to make an antagonist dumber...
I have no problem with the rushed start, but, even if it's a minor fight, I found the Marilyn Manson fight kinda... too compressed. Of course it may be because I wanted to see more of fluffy debt-collecting stand, but still. The season has been good until now though, the stands are beautiful. I loved the fact that they kept the star-shaped light(?) in Pucci's eyes.
The manson fight would've become extremely boring if they showed all the baseball scenes. It was already kinda dragging on in the manga. Part 6 felt way longer than part 7 (even though it has 7 less volumes than part 7) to me because the pacing was just not that great in my opinion.
Yesss, I've been waiting for this, I read through the manga a second time right before it got released and I've been trying to figure out the differences
Personally, I liked that they cut / change some parts, it really improved the pacing, though it sacrificed a bit of world building. Most people most likely wont mind the changes.
@@polarisscale7030 I watch lots of 90's anime. They are way slower in pacing than modern anime. This part in the manga really have isue with info dump and spacing, but remove some scenes in the first half make the prison less interesting like Araki did in the manga. It still conveys the corrupt shit hole it is. They even added new scenes of Jolyne paying people off like Hamon Beat highlights.
If they're removing this much from the Manga. They better include a scene of Giorno and Mista going to Disneyland as compensation 😤
Or a scene showing the currently alive JoJo’s reacting to time speeding up
they announced it months ago that all Disney character references will be changed to warner brothers cartoons references... just some licensing issues.
"If there's no Bugs Bunny! This Shit ain't Warner Bros!"
Can't use Disney references. And Giorno would HEAVILY alter the later part of Part 6 if he appears.
@@ChiefMedicPururu At least a scene of him in Florida would suffice.
They could have anime original scenes before that where they meet
To be fair, I always found her lack of interaction with Anasui to be strange. Even in the manga version, she only briefly sees Anasui in the ghost room and doesn't talk to him, so they were never properly introduced. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they exchange a single line of dialog for the entire part.

I don't mind the minor changes at all, now it actually feels better paced for an animated series. Most scenes, especially panels in the beginning would've been dragging on over 1-2 Episodes. As for the copyright changes , there's nothing they could've done about Disney, at least they changed it to Warner originals.
Anasui in a few episodes:
" if there's no bunny, this shit ain't loony"
If there's no chungus, this shit ain't wholesome 100
@@jonseon5952 thats exactly why he showed them how it worked
@@jonseon5952 Yeah
I actually thought the reason White Snake allowed Manhattan Transfer's ability to be shown is to trick Jotaro and Jolyne into thinking that they're still in the dream once they see it in the real world.
Jongali A was the bait from the start
A tiny one, but similar to Anasui: in the manga Jolyne's lawyer's ears get longer with each new panel he's in. In the anime he's an elf right from the start
English Dub: F-Bombs have now been added to the arsenal.
The hell is he ear Pinocchio?
His ears are massive during the trial though, and are smaller again when he's shown later
His ears do grow as the episode progresses
Nah they grow too
When it came to Gwess giving Jolyne the bottom bunk, Gwess pleads to Jolyne to let go of her stand when she grew back telling her she can have the bunk if she wouldn’t be mad at her, only to then trip her back into the gated doors and call the guards.
I believe they added that extra scene of Jolyne and Gwess at night to show that Gwess was serious after her beat down and didn’t want her to be mad and that reminding us of the bottom bunk would prove to be redundant.
I like to believe that jolyne just forced Gwess to take the top bunk as a power move.
Another important difference is the manga shows how Jolyne sneaks her threads through the gate before punching Gwess. In the anime, she just magically punches her (and we can infer how she did it), but the manga actually shows how she got her stand through the gate to deliver the punch
ruclips.net/video/T7zAvLKJTTw/видео.html
@NoEzoEz Her string is part of her body, so even though it's a stand its reasonable to assume that it's range and ability to move through things are inhibited. I wouldn't take my word for it though because I don't remember part 6 too well.
It's done differently in the anime, when she punches Gwess, you can actually see the marks of the bars on Stone Free's hands (Like, it squished through using string powers, but is done in a way that's easier to animate and harder to understand.)
Hey True Underdog I didn’t know you were a JoJo fan
Nice
Even though they removed so many different parts of the manga, I really like the faster pace of storytelling they did in the anime

They still "King Crimsoned" many scenes tho..
what di you do to the that one guy with the Mustache?
I Didn't realize how quickly they had paced this until we met Foo Fighters. I still think they did a great job with the anime however
I honestly prefer the anime's version of the Marilyn Manson fight, it's more logical and smart instead of Jolyne just beating Mirashon up.
Yeah, considering Jolyne made crazy smart plays early in Stone Ocean. Makes way more sense that she does here.
@XORRE I have to disagree. Although Jotaro beat his enemies up, he almost always did it in a really smart way.
@@beetheimmortal It's a half and half, some Jotaro outsmarts, others he just pummels. Depends on the situation really...

Exactly
Removed dialogue is not new tbh, it happens in part 3, part 4 and part 5 too
Netflix is only distributing the anime outside Japan. The case here seems to be that the studio learned from Part 3 and they're trimming unnecesary stuff to the plot.

And i love the anime as well
Wasn't expecting this so early. Nice job getting it out so quickly

I remember always thing part 6’s first half was pretty slow, really picking up in the latter half inside the punishment ward and after jail house lock. So then going a bit faster with the early part doesn’t really bother me, if anything i can see it turning out better than the manga
Honestly I think all the changes made Part 6 a lot more concise and focused.

I had a really great watching the first episode batch, didn’t notice that there were quite a few changes other than the mentions of Tom cruise and the Ermes ghost room thing
She actually let her sleep in the bottom bunk bed after she was defeated, it was an actual scene in the anime as well.

That depends on the changes really
The changes for the most part are fine, helps a lot with the pacing of stone ocean

Not like Ermes scene mattered since she never had anything significant with Anasui.

After seeing the changes laid out like this I think all of the changes were done for the better, loving this adaptation so far!
Locobarocco mentionong that ballpoint pens weren't alowed might have been changed because later on Jolyne herself says they aren't allowed.
Yeah.
Correct me if I’m wrong about this, but I think you missed a difference:
In the manga when Jolyne meets Pucci for the first time after the Lang Rangler fight, Jolyne in her thoughts says that she recognizes Pucci as the prison’s priest and wonders what he’s doing at the factory. However, in the anime, it’s made rather clear that Jolyne has absolutely no clue who Pucci is (Other than that he’s some sort of religious figure), and her thoughts about recognizing him and wondering what he’s doing there are now given to Weather Report.
imo all these removements made jolyne's character look shallow in the anime
To be honest I actually kind of like how the gwess fight in the anime more than manga. It was much more clear how everything played out.
Can’t wait for you to have to make yet another “Araki Forgot” episode for Part 6 after the anime ends to correct all the misconceptions anime onlies will have
13:25 That was a smart move tbh. I wouldn't Araki getting cancelled over that. Also another difference in that scene, is that they nerfed F.F's ass.

Thank you for doing this so quickly. It's good you are doing this even though its coming in batches. I have read the early chapters of the manga and I did note some differences so it's great to see all of them in a video.
I think all the changes make the story feel more fluent and the tone feel more consistent
Jolyne going into Emporio's room for the first time is by far one of the coolest scenes of JoJo
Good to know that I wasn't the only one who thought the pacing was messy at first.

That'd be the only way to keep the intent of the arc as it is while not disrupting copyrights.
Some dragged on, tho.
it's weird how whenever you read the manga first and then see the anime you recognize the changes almost instantly
Gwess 100% said she can take the bottom bunk in the anime
Didn't expect you to make a video before it was done! Sweet c:
I don't feel like the changes made feel story rushed - I think they made it pretty well for good animation event flow. I think while reviewing such changes we really often forget, that for making good animation/ movie, event flow has to be made to feel story as fluid, hanging on edge, consistent etc
I like to think that the ghost room scene takes place like this:
Manga: Annasui just got in the room while using his stand to go in the female section and hermes got here shortly after
Anime: since the scene is added later, annasui got in the room quite some time ago and deactivated his stand then jolyne came in.
This is now my Headcanon
One thing i hate about part 6 in general is that the technology doesn't stand for its time aka the fact that there are no smartphones, flat screens,1080p,anything that the real 2011 had (and yes i know that araki wrote da manga in 2000 - 2003 and these things didnt exist back then but couldn't they change it for the anime)
It’ll probaly effect the story if they had smart phones
@@donedeald8882 yeah probably
I honestly really enjoy the pace of this part, I was worried they were gonna make some of these early fights 2-3 episodes long
It really seems to me that David Production has been making more and more changes in each part as they go along.

I honestly feel like the anime did it well and that the changed parts are fine, my only gripe would be hermes in the ghost room
I really like the places and changes made. It felt like the story dragged on a bit when I first read it, but it feels like a new fresh take like this!
I love when story is dragged then...
Fast pacing ruins immersion...
Yesss, I've been waiting for this, I read through the manga a second time right before it got released and I've been trying to figure out the differences
Personally, I liked that they cut / change some parts, it really improved the pacing, though it sacrificed a bit of world building. Most people most likely wont mind the changes.
Why do you people care about "Improving pacing" so much? Why speeding up pacing is considered to be good?
I think slowing the pacing is improving it.
@@KeyleeTamirian well thats because most people found stone ocean to be quite slow
@@polarisscale7030 I watch lots of 90's anime. They are way slower in pacing than modern anime. I watch anime like Outlaw Star, Sorcerer Hunters, Gokinjo Monogatari, Slayers etc. They have slow pacing, lots of filler episodes and a lot of emphasis on humor...
And you know, humor is one of MAIN APPEALS of Anime to me. Modern shounen have waay to much drama. I love when there's a humorous scene every 2 minutes.
@@KeyleeTamirian nobody wants to see jojo with filler episodes if you want to see humor every 2 min why don’t you jsut try a comedy
@@KeyleeTamirian jjba def has great humorous moments but man aint this too much of a nitpick ??
Actually pretty sad they removed Anasui's feminine form. Really cool character detail imo
This part in the manga really have isue with info dump and spacing, but remove some scenes in the first half make the prison less interesting like Araki did in the manga. Althought I guess they decided these change because they want to focus more time on the later part, especially with the ending. If David Pro can do part 6 second half right this could be one of the best anime so far.
Most people like the second half more than the first half because it's where the story truly picks up
" Best anime so far " as in one of the best anime or best part of JoJo ???
@@animeshon6426 I mean best anime part of Jojo, the real "best anime" title is debatable, sorry
@@khoaphan202 thanks. So what are your thoughts on stone ocean as a whole, if the rest of it gets adapted really well how do you think it would fair against other titles.
@@animeshon6426 If you want to compare it to other anime then it won't work because Stone Ocean was built on the foundation of the past part unlike other like SC or GW can be seperate as stand alone serie and still great. But overall it one of the best manga part I've ever read, until part 7, because of it's creativity and the scale keep going up and up till the very end. It show how a mad man Araki can be and I love it.
Even if the direct references got cut, I'm glad Tom Cruise still showed up in the anime.
I've never read the manga, however I did notice that part 6 seemed off. Searched your exact title for the video a day after part 6 aired to see if true. Thanks for uploading this and confirming my suspicions.
Right when I watched the anime I knew something felt off, it was way too fast paced to me, and the transition from a scene to another felt weird to.
Can we talk about the lawyer's ear which is 100% accurate as the manga and it keeps getting bigger and bigger

I like the new monologue from Pucci and how he crushes an ant and an ant is the first thing we see when the universe resets
Another difference is how they yet again fucked up Lang Rangler's shoulders. As you've said, In the black and white manga, his shoulders are clearly exposed, and here they've colored them in like the Shueisha colored manga. (I would count this as a difference as it's clear in the black and white manga it's supposed to be an exposed shoulder)
(This was mostly a joke, but I am still kinda peeved they messed it up again)
Here's a change for you, In the manga: Pucci uses a New Nambu M57 (An obscure Japanese pistol) to shoot at Savage Garden. In the Anime he uses some kind of Glock.
