Got that right. It's really nice about the show is they actually had to pick the fact that native Americans and well settlers married
It's been a lot of time explaining the history of native American culture and trying to explain that native Americans weren't killed off to the degree that most people think
A lot of native Americans died from disease that they weren't used to. Christians came from Europe they were actually encouraged to share about Jesus and to take spouses in the area
It wasn't like oh she or he is native American so we can't marry them.
In fact my great-grandmother was the daughter of a Lakota chief
I was 5 years old and I remember talking to her and she had very dark skin and her hair was Gray. But she did not look like my grandma because my great grandma married and Norwegian
She grew up on the reservation and she eventually went and got a degree.. I don't know how she did it but she was very well educated. He found Jesus on the reservation and then somehow when she got an outside of the reservation she met a Norwegian man
Great-grandmother loved him very much but they were separated for long periods of time due to some kind of political crap related to fishing and unions
Side note workers Union suck. Anyways when I was 5 I asked her. I said Grandma are you Indian or American. She said honey I'm both. My father had told me about her as a little girl. What I remember about her was there was this amazing presence of Peace power and love and I saw this necklace on her neck.
Have one memory talking to her. Lyrics years later I would realize that she was wearing a cross
Or my grandmother died she showed me her Bible and it was deeply studied and read. Lakota Indian who was the daughter of a Lakota tribe of a great chief love Jesus loved America and loved who she was in Christ.
When I try to share the story people don't believe me but it really happened. Constantly would dream this memory as I was older and I realized more and more who she was because God allowed me to remember this dream
Was a memory of something that I experienced when I was five and I was learning every time I had the same dream the same memory.
I'm not making it up. Completely 100% true
When I see her in heaven I'm pretty sure I'll see all the other tribal members that new Christ and one day I'll be able to shake the hand of her father
What I realized from my great-grandmother was that she knew that civilizations clashed and not everyone was good and everyone was bad
He knew that life was hard and there was good and there was evil but it wasn't based on the color of people's skin
She saw people were based on the inside just as it should be
the Bible says that the hearts of men lie and this is true. It could be easily fooled into half truths or things that are completely false

My great grandpa married s Native Cherokee woman. It caused so many problems with the Family, Great Grandpa change how his last name was spelled, and all his children, except the youngest, my mom. Of course it was told she was a Cherokee Princess, but there was no Cherokee princesses. They told that to make it seem better to The Yt folk. Her Parents died on the Trail of Years, she was around 12, and survived. You can really see the Native in my Aunt Cora. She lived off the land, way back in the woods and ridges. No running water, you went to the spring. An outhouse, wood cook stove. She could make a squirrel taste really good, and only took her a minute to have it on the pan after you gave it to her. She always had her apron on, snuff, which she hid from people, long silver hair, always in a bun, till night time. I would live to live there today.

Strange though them claiming he was shot in the back if it could be easily disproved. So really IDK.

Before you start going into whatever we did wrong please take a look and see what we're still doing right
No Christian is perfect that's why we need the blood of Jesus.
