    I've been working with Nate for over a year now. I *Think I was the first Stinger tune he did. Subsequently, I broke the record at the track for the quickest Kia Stinger in the 1/4. Then I broke my own record 2 more times. That Sxth tune is spot on. I just recently bought the EK1 so Nate and I can take my Stinger even faster. I've got the file he emailed and I'm just waiting on weather to warm up a bit to flash and see how it does. I do need to mention that I stack with the JB for Logging and Meth control.

      Yeah nates a cool dude! They are definitely doing great things! I'd get an ek1 if I had money to blow 😅

    Piggyback can be detected if looked hard enough. Your best bet is to tune a spare ecu. Lots of info on this on the veloster n forums.

      Yeah, if a dealer wants to void your warranty they'll find whatever they need tbh

      I have experience in this field and they can see it, most of the time they don’t care, dealers make money by fixing cars, as long as you don’t have other mods that Hyundai will see when the dealer sends them pictures, you will be fine

      JB4 only detects on Map 3 and beyond. Map 1 and 2 will not be detected. Several have already done this on those maps and not been detected. Also those who had map 3 have stated that the guys at the dealerships knew. And didn't care. But if you go map 4 and beyond definitely a no go. Map 3 is iffy I wouldn't do it unless you intend to just not care.

    Race chips don't plug into the obd2 at all to communicate or see what the ecu is doing... I actually hate the fact that I didn’t do my research these just manipulate the manifold boost pressure and the absolute pressure sensors. It’s essentially a runaway boost creep the race chip causes which is kind of concerning but they haven’t had an issue yet so obviously their engineering has done something to prevent engines from blowing up. For Veloster 1.6t it plugs into the boost sensor on the plastic intake on the engine block and one that's located under the OEM air box.

    • @brickysky1602

      Some more information it essentially tells the car this. for example ECU reads boost pressure, the sensor reads 20psi then it goes through the race chip, the race chip subtracts 5psi then sends it to ECU, ECU sees 15psi so it closes the wastegate and continues to build more boost.

    I ran a piggyback before going fbo and my fuel trims were definitely not good

      Yeah lol once you know what you're looking for and you see the difference in logs between a piggyback vs ecu tune. it's hard to go back.

    I went with Lap3 ECU tune shipped on a spare ECU... no piggys here... strong points are that you have both oem and tuned ECU to swap in-out, plus it can be fine tuned at a local tuner after adding mods not goofing around on the oem ... Placed my order 2w before seeing this vid, but just confirm what I thought, good compromise.. thx

    I’m trying to turbocharge my 2000 Tiburon, I’m also trying to still pass emissions bc it’ll be a daily. I’ve considered an Aem Fic but don’t know how well it’ll work with the car. The other option is go standalone and swap the ecu’s whenever I need to pass emissions. What do you suggest I look into regarding engine management?

    • @AustinSWarren
      @AustinSWarren  2 года назад

      Lol tbh, I have no suggestions for you on the tiburon. Much older car than what I've been working on or talking about. I also don't live in a state with emissions so that's a whole other issues. You'll probably find it difficult to add a turbo, change the entire exhaust system and still pass emissions

    Hey I have a 2022 n line Elantra 6 speed should I get the jb4 or the ek1 pro? I have an intake and the spark plugs , deff trying to not void my warranty but I would like the pops and crackle out of the exhaust and more power. New to the Kdm world!

    • @AustinSWarren
      @AustinSWarren  2 года назад

      Lol well if you want to play around with the car just know they could void your warranty for anything if they really wanted to. Most dealerships play ball though. As long as you don't bring the car in with a turbo sticking out of the hood you're unlikely to run into many issues.
      If you were serious about tuning and performance parts I would say the ek1. But if you don't plan to hang on to the car long or do many mods, jb4. You will get much more out of the pro tune that you'll buy with the ek1 vs the jb4.
