    Would it be possible to order a pre-cut mesh grill in this style using a different one of the mesh options you have on the site? and if you guys are willing to option it out, how much more would it cost? I appreciate how simple the installation seems, you guys have really done a great job offering an inexpensive way to customize these cars.

      It is possible to do other styles of mesh; with a few disclaimers:
      1) Only from meshes we stock that are 16" or taller
      2) Not from any of the heavy duty meshes; so we can bend it
      3) Not from woven wire or plastic material
      As for cost, that depends on the mesh; some are cheaper than others. Raw mesh will be cost effective and can be done in a timely manner. If you need it to be black, that will skyrocket the cost for a custom one-off piece and add a lot to the manufacturing time.

    Can you provide more details? You need to show the top of the grill where you cut, because there is more plastic at the top so showing exactly where to cut would be very helpful! TY

      Some portions of these older videos (this one is 8 years old now, from 2015) are less than ideal. We've drastically improved our video quality since then from feedback like yours so thanks for the specific feedback.
      With that said, on top edge, I'd assume you're referring to around the emblem area specifically. Around the 0:55 mark in the video, you can see that I cut down the stock logo area a fair bit.
      So, trim down the plastic that's in your way. Then when you have a clear patch to cut the outer frame, that should get you the results that you're looking for.
      If this is not the specific area that you're referring to, send me an email with a picture of the area that's giving you trouble and I'll try to help out the best I can.

    All this work and easy to mess up. You can just buy customs grills. This company should make and sell these grills (to order) for reasonable prices. Based on the much better aftermarket grilles available I’d say this piece would be worth about $250 shipped.

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  5 лет назад +1

      We have made complete grills before, but they are cost prohibitive and we can't do them for $250 shipped.
      We need a factory oem grille to start with, and those go for around $100 from Hyundai. Current retail on the mesh is $90, it'll cost about $75 to paint the grille frame after it has been modified. It'll take about $10 in glue, and around $20-40 to ship. So, we're already around $300 and haven't even paid for my labor and wear & tear on tools or payment processing.
      We'd be around $399 for a completed unit shipped when everything is factored in. I know that's well above the cost of other grilles available, which is why we don't advertise a full replacement option. I'll make one if interested, but I cannot offer it for $250 shipped.

    How long did you wait for the adhesive to stick before cutting the ties?

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  3 месяца назад

      Depends on the adhesive. Typically that is stated on the bottle or packaging. In the case of the Automotive Goop, it's a full 24hrs.

    I don’t understand when where and why are you using foam?
    I’m trying to install on 2013 Veloster turbo

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  Год назад +1

      When to use the foam: as you're tying the mesh to the grille frame
      Where to use the foam: on the grille frame. There's a good shot of where I placed some of my ties & foam pieces around the 3:00 minute mark when I remove them.
      Why to use the foam: to protect the grille frame paint, so the ties don't dig into it and damage it.

    I bought this grill but I want to keep the front logo. Would cutting the grill out horizontally make it able to mount behind the logo at the top?

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  2 года назад +1

      Jason, I've seen customers do that before. I'm not sure exactly where the cuts need to be made, but it's possible to do.

  • @Mysterylabel

    Why do you have to save the mounts on the back of the grill, what's the purpose of it?

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  4 года назад

      You need to save the mounts so that it can be remounted properly.

      the product is called "Automotive Goop", that is the name of it. Yes, it bonds very well when applied correctly.

    I have a new tucson 2016 ..I want to keep the factory grill but just put a mesh behind to protect the radiator. have you done anything like that?

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  7 лет назад

      We have done some installs similar to what you are thinking about. I don't have a video about that type of installation at this time, but as long as there's some some good attachment points on the factory grill then it's usually a quick and easy mod.

    Does this grill come without the towe hook hole? All i see is the one with hole on site

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  4 года назад

      Hey Josh, currently we're just stocking the one with tow hook hole precut. I can custom make them without a hole but I can only make them from raw material (you'd need to paint or powder coat it black if you wanted that color). Send me an email at info@customcargrills.com if you want one of those made, and I can ship it within 1-2 days.

    what dremel cutting wheel did you use to cut the oem grill out?

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  7 лет назад

      Technically the bit shown in the video is a #542 Cutting/Shaping Wheel. It's an older part that is no longer carried in the U.S. (but available in the U.K.).
      The newer version of the bit is the #543 Cutting/Shaping Wheel, which we have featured in some of our newer videos. The #543 is a pinch larger which is nice, and only has grit for shaping on one side (as opposed to both sides on the #542).

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  2 года назад

      The turbo and non-turbo are a completely different shape & size. The non-turbo doesn't have a grille frame, which makes the install much harder. I'm not saying a non-turbo mesh grille isn't possible but it would be a big undertaking for most owners to do the install.

    Can this be done on a non turbo

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  6 лет назад

      The mesh piece we sell as seen in the video only fits the Turbo model and we don't currently have a kit for the non-turbo.
      We do sell all kinds of mesh sheets if you wanted to create your own mesh grill for a non-turbo. It might be possible to do but since the non-turbo model doesn't have a lip / bezel around the inner portion of the grill, like the turbo model does, then attaching the mesh may be difficult.

    how to put the tow hook on the grills?

    • @customcargrills
      @customcargrills  7 лет назад

      On our website, there is a variation that includes a cutout for the tow hook. If the the no tow hook model is ordered, there will need to be a cut made in the mesh to accommodate that if desired.

      Samatar Dahir hi, how's your front grill ( non turbo) did you make it change to a mesh grill like this on the video? My car same as you and I'm looking also a mesh grill for the non turbo grill...Any news? Thanks

      I have a the strange situation, where I'm keeping the Non turbo front end and cutting the center out of it. It's going to be a pain but I'll figure it out. I like the fog lights on the na model more than the turbo model, so if I don't have to convert it, I won't.

    • @mattevans1643

      Lol, good thing they have the part manual online, just found out I don't need to do any of that. Just take it apart from the inside. The the mesh can be figured out later
