    It would be verry nice with a "how To" video on a piggyback installation.. n/a to boosted on at newer car. Using the onboard map sensor on the haltech.... Whats going to happen with the factory ecu and its map sensor when suddenly reading boost.
    And same situation if the car had maf sensor. Thats one of my main concerns when considering boosting my 2015 car, where i se piggybacking as my only option.
    love your videos!!
    Cheers fro Denmark

    I am glad they answered the piggy back question. I was curious to know if I can keep the factory ecu for abs and airbags and a haltech for an engine swap.

    1:06 here ya go jake. he’ll quickly cover the old-school piggyback systems that you’re familiar with hearing about. And then he’s going to cover the way I was talking about.

    If I were to run a piggyback ECU on a USDM 2012 STi, would it leave enough of the factory stuff in place that it would pass an OBD2 readiness test?

    good video. which haltech ecu do you recommend for piggyback to just control engine power? (then leaving the stock ecu to control regular non engine functions). thank you

    Can the 750 do signal bending piggyback mode? Eg for an E.TB setup can you manipulate TPS and manifold pressure (load) to trick the factory computer to open up the throttle more? If its a detuned engine via TPS%

    I've noticed that you do plug in ECU's for say Nissans ect that run everything including all the dash gauges. Im wondering if you are looking at doing a direct plug in to the E Series Falcons?

    I have a Rx7 fd road car, I have the ps1000 Ecu and iq3 street dash and I was contemplating getting the racepak smartwire system.
    Only trouble is I fear the smartwire won’t have enough channels for all the necessary functions of a road car. Also I can’t find any guides for fitting,
    Would it be possible to run smartwire and install while getting rid of the 3 or 4 fuse boxes the car has and maintain all the functions the car needs to operate on the 16 or so channels the smartwire has

    I'll be swapping my auto trans for a 5 speed in my 2000 sc300, but it'll leave a check engine light. Could I use a piggyback system to interrupt the check engine light from going off?

    What sensors will I have to add to a cressida to do launch control and rolling anti lag with a elite 2000?(r154 transmission)

    • @haltech
      @haltech  6 лет назад

      You just need to be sure the Elite 2000 is reading a speed input. If it doesn’t have this then it can’t know when you are “rolling”. Most people will add an enable switch for both so they can arm the system when needed.

      Elite 2000 or Elite 2500 if you want all the advanced race functions.

      @@haltech will it be a plug n play or do i have to splice muiltple wires?

    • @haltech
      @haltech  5 лет назад +1

      It would require a custom wiring. You'd be hard pressed finding an aftermarket Plug'n'Play ECU for a 98 Camry V6 auto.

      @mopower9844 6 лет назад

      I know how to set that up, but do I run the signal to the switch power on the relay or do I switch to ground the really when it hits the default temp. I was thinking switch power.

    • @haltech
      @haltech  6 лет назад

      We do get them, just not a lot of them get modified. Just like with every other car though, when people start working on them and they get popular at car meets and races then aftermarket manufacturers start making parts for them:)

      @alexstromberg7696 6 лет назад +1

      Very true about the aftermarket, being a Swede i have a lot of that for the 5s. but i'd love to see what the rest of the world can do with them. the engines can take a beating, the horsepower record is something like 1200hp :D

      In general, how difficult is it to run an aftermarket ECU on an I5? I’m assuming you’d need sequential ignition. Any other quirks that need to be dealt with? Firing order/angle maybe?
