She’s in so many bands. She reminds me how important it is to sing from the creative living heart, it’s hard to explain, but yeah, she’s go “IT”. Thank the Lord for her and for sharing her gift 💎
I heard "Lilacs" playing in the background of the TV show 9-1-1 during an intense scene. I had to pull out my phone and use the Shazam app to figure out who was singing. What an AMAZING voice! I've found my new "favorite" band :)
I saw Waxahatchee in Atlanta this past week, and her ending the night on "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" was something I REALLY needed to hear. ♥️I love Katie!
I’ve been a fan of waxahatchee for years. I couldn’t pass up listening to a new live recording of this album. Everything they put out is simply wonderful.
This video let me to see her last night at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta!! Thank you so much for mentioning she was on tour, I had no idea! It was soooooo incredible, just amazing, just breathtaking!!!
Kudos to the sound engineer. Everything sounds so great, especially with how she sings…was wondering how “hot” the mix was? She’s so close to it….loving the whole thing. Great job!
Can you explain what you mean about how she sings and how hot the mix would have been? I don't know much about sound engineering, so just curious. I agree they did a great job.
@@KyleMcStravick I meant to type “mic”. You can her nose touching it, which means she’s singing at a lower decibel- thus the input would be higher to get all the nuances of her great voice. With the live band setting this can be problematic depending on the room. Which I’ve learned from experience. Cheers!
@@matthewdimond838 That's interesting, I saw them play in Seattle this same day and the sound didn't sound nearly as good as on the radio. At least from where I was sitting.
KEXP has consistently had excellent sound engineering for over a decade now. Sometimes it is mixed better than the studio album. WFUV is also outstanding.
Shes speaking for me saying its my favorite band. Im not mad at her for saying it, these sisters have done a lot for much of the country that has seen life and plight living through real life situations.
Love these songs. Saw them at the Green River Festival this year and the sound was so full and had this more hard rock quality that I thought was so incredibly beautiful.
What a lovely performance. It's so great that the music industry continues to pump new talent... The gaming and cinema industries are in a drout of talent for a while
Just watched the KEXP session from 2017. Completely different sound. I like 'em all. I will say the 2017 Crutchfield sisters make some beautiful harmonies.
I have this superpower by artist's face to define whether I will like their music or not. Now this is the case. I've already got her music on Spotify in my favourites and daily mixes but I 've seen her for the first time
Their online pandemic shows were so fun, saw them open for Courtney Barnett a couple of years ago (I think with just Katie and another guitar player?) and that was great too.
She’s in so many bands. She reminds me how important it is to sing from the creative living heart, it’s hard to explain, but yeah, she’s go “IT”. Thank the Lord for her and for sharing her gift 💎
Cheryl Waters is a treasure
love her!
I dig her
The loveliest lady ever. She's just so sweet.
i think a bit ago she had a cancer scare? and i'm just so glad she's okay and thriving, i love her 🥺
She's the best!!!
Bass player singing harmony is the not-so-low-key MVP. I'm glad they have her angled in the background most of the time. Love you KEXP!
as a bass player my jaw dropped absolute legend
I would just imagine she’s living her dream!
Does that just mean "MVP"?
Right?! Any idea who she is?
I saw them live recently and she was a boss.
It's amazing how often KEXP live performances are better than the albums.
Ohh It's the bassist that also played for Weyes Blood, her singing always spot on enhance the main vocal!
I could give this 10,000 thumbs ups!
Such a gorgeous songs by some hugely talented people. Makes me cry listening

St Cloud is a masterpiece. My favourite album of recent years. I've been waiting for this performance more than I knew.
Just discovered her on Colbert. A few minutes into the video . . . this sounds great! Something very unique about her -- an original.
Just beautiful. She has an amazing voice. Love to hear of Lucinda's influence on her...she is the coolest. I'm a new fan.
Timeless songs, great band, and beautiful harmonies ❤

The end of Ruby Falls always makes me tear up a bit, gives me chills.
Same.

Katie and the band are incredible. Thanks so much for putting this beautiful recording together and thanks to mama Cheryl as always!

Nice. I'm finally going to see them in OKC in April assuming everything holds together. I've been waiting for two years!
The vocal lock on "Fire" is amazing.
I've been waiting for this! Thank you so much
What a lovely performance. It's so great that the music industry continues to pump new talent... The gaming and cinema industries are in a drout of talent for a while
Waxahatchee has been around since 2010 and has 5 albums...
@@danielsloan oh wow. Thank God for kexp for exposing me to then then. Seems i need to search their discography
What?! We've got so many talented young directors coming up, it's just that they don't release blockbusters.
