Cheryl Waters is a treasure
love her!
I dig her
The loveliest lady ever. She's just so sweet.
i think a bit ago she had a cancer scare? and i'm just so glad she's okay and thriving, i love her 🥺
She's the best!!!
Bass player singing harmony is the not-so-low-key MVP. I'm glad they have her angled in the background most of the time. Love you KEXP!
as a bass player my jaw dropped absolute legend
I would just imagine she’s living her dream!
Does that just mean "MVP"?
Right?! Any idea who she is?
I saw them live recently and she was a boss.
Ohh It's the bassist that also played for Weyes Blood, her singing always spot on enhance the main vocal!
It's amazing how often KEXP live performances are better than the albums.
Katie Crutchfield x Cheryl Waters SLAY
Such a gorgeous songs by some hugely talented people. Makes me cry listening
Made me cry too!
You know I only watch these for Cheryl Waters, right?
St Cloud is a masterpiece. My favourite album of recent years. I've been waiting for this performance more than I knew.
Just discovered her on Colbert. A few minutes into the video . . . this sounds great! Something very unique about her -- an original.
This drummer is fantastic.
Timeless songs, great band, and beautiful harmonies ❤
What an incredible album that is. One of the best of the last few years
I heard "Lilacs" playing in the background of the TV show 9-1-1 during an intense scene. I had to pull out my phone and use the Shazam app to figure out who was singing. What an AMAZING voice! I've found my new "favorite" band :)
"Can't Do Much" = best song of the past five years, at a minimum.
Just beautiful. She has an amazing voice. Love to hear of Lucinda's influence on her...she is the coolest. I'm a new fan.
The end of Ruby Falls always makes me tear up a bit, gives me chills.
Same.
same
22:30 If you like waxa check out Bonny Doon (both guitarists and drummer as seen above). They’re amazing
I saw Waxahatchee in Atlanta this past week, and her ending the night on "Light of a Clear Blue Morning" was something I REALLY needed to hear. ♥️I love Katie!
I’ve been a fan of waxahatchee for years. I couldn’t pass up listening to a new live recording of this album. Everything they put out is simply wonderful.
So great, so beautiful.
Best album of the Pandemic and it wasn’t close
Just sublime. Saint Cloud will stand the test of time as a classic piece of work. Hope they can tour Europe soon.
I remember hearing this live on air and instantly getting hooked on Waxahatchee. Really love St. Cloud
Katie and the band are incredible. Thanks so much for putting this beautiful recording together and thanks to mama Cheryl as always!
Magical artists, makes being alive so beautiful, thanks so ,love yers
Kudos to the sound engineer. Everything sounds so great, especially with how she sings…was wondering how “hot” the mix was? She’s so close to it….loving the whole thing. Great job!
Can you explain what you mean about how she sings and how hot the mix would have been? I don't know much about sound engineering, so just curious. I agree they did a great job.
@@KyleMcStravick I meant to type “mic”. You can her nose touching it, which means she’s singing at a lower decibel- thus the input would be higher to get all the nuances of her great voice. With the live band setting this can be problematic depending on the room. Which I’ve learned from experience. Cheers!
@@matthewdimond838 That's interesting, I saw them play in Seattle this same day and the sound didn't sound nearly as good as on the radio. At least from where I was sitting.
KEXP has consistently had excellent sound engineering for over a decade now. Sometimes it is mixed better than the studio album. WFUV is also outstanding.
A fantastic performance, thank you so much! 👏
Kind of miss Out in the Storm (my fave Waxahatchee album), but this folk/country bent is nice, too.
So good. Love the mix too.
This was beautiful to watch and listen to, thank you
I've been in love with this whole album for a while, thank you for sharing this performance!
St Cloud is one of those albums that just feels like home
I've been waiting for this! Thank you so much
Excellent show. Their album was a one of my favorites this past year.
Gotta love a bit of Waxahatchee - if you get a chance to see a live show, it's so worth it.
perfect. love her.
Such a good set and a lovely interview to top it off. Music is the best.
OMG THIS IS SO GOOD!!
This mix is FIRE. Katie and company are better than ever.

Unbelievable talent! Saint Cloud is one of my all-time favorite albums 🙌❤
This live reminds me of the good time I had last year when I kept listening to Saint Cloud.☺️

Brilliant sound and interview 👍
this is perfection.
Oh? Wonderful harmonies.
Love these songs. Saw them at the Green River Festival this year and the sound was so full and had this more hard rock quality that I thought was so incredibly beautiful.
Wonderful singer!
Yes finally!
First time I hear about these guys. It took a total of 10 seconds of their first song to fall in love.
This is awesome. My first exposure to Waxahatchee.
que bueno es este concierto
Spot on performance - congratulations!
❤❤❤❤❤❤ I can't get enough of Waxahachie Never ever stop
Singer's voice reminds me of Natalie Merchant- I'm diggin it.
I can see that. Natalie is one of my favorites and have seen her perform a few times.
I need to listen a live version of Witches (the best song of the album)
That seconde voice is Great!
What a great set! I especially enjoyed all of the vocal work. I'll be looking for the album.
Cheers!
The album has been out! Don't miss it, search "Saint Cloud"!
AMAZING Excellent band!!! i just hear and know them at now wonderful music,,
10000 Maniacs!
Wait, that’s the same amazing bassist/backup singer who plays with Weyes Blood 🤯
Eliana :-) Also w/ Pomplamoose, which is where I had seen her before. Was killing me.
That backing vocals!!
A major, major talent.
Nice. I'm finally going to see them in OKC in April assuming everything holds together. I've been waiting for two years!
also these fits!!!
Bass lines are terrific! StC are tuned in!
The vocal lock on "Fire" is amazing.
Love this u tube channel i have discovered so many unique artists
Fire is FIRE 🔥
holy cow, that's new, that's good, thks
Just watched the KEXP session from 2017. Completely different sound. I like 'em all. I will say the 2017 Crutchfield sisters make some beautiful harmonies.
This too shall pass!
There is a GOD.
"If I could love you unconditionally
I could iron out the edges of the darkest sky" mmmm
Shes speaking for me saying its my favorite band. Im not mad at her for saying it, these sisters have done a lot for much of the country that has seen life and plight living through real life situations.
St. Cloud is their best work yet! Great live band too.
Dope performance, perfect interview.
Saw them live at Babeville last week, and omg, it was even better than the last time I saw them. They are so goddamn good live
what a beautiful 2nd voice!
Eliana Athayde you sing and play bass awesome!
Love the Granny dress.
It’s her thing, it seems
Nightgown?
@@kimdody It's all good.
@@kiereluurs1243 It;s a hippy dress from the 60s/70s plus the shoes. Hip in a retro way.
Cheryl asked questions like nobody else. A true great.
We love WaxaKatie. Keeps getting better.
Envious of the guitar peeps. Would love to be supporting her on Tele duty.
Their online pandemic shows were so fun, saw them open for Courtney Barnett a couple of years ago (I think with just Katie and another guitar player?) and that was great too.
I think I'm in love!(sorry Kevin, love you too)
How this album did't won a grammy
