Silver is such a masterpiece!
the lady with the pink guitar has an amazing taste to play the guitar. she is killing man. really cool!
Ali Donohue
Kexp consistently has excellent production! Masterful performance, danke schön
Blown away by the talented sweet and powerful sounds of this band. Thanks to KEXP for another great introduction...
How awesome is this? Wonderful love Waxahatchee so much
KEXP so good with the recording equipment and production, everyone you have sounds mint! I love WAXAHATCHEEEEEEEEEEEE
Love this. What a wonderful album Out in the Storm is.
Agreed, I keep coming back to it again and again, it's wormed its way deep into my heart
To paraphrase Steve Wynn trying to explain what that "Dream Syndicate" thing was all about... just good ROCK AND ROLL. Fantastic performance, Waxahatchee and KEXP are national treasures.
The guitar is so much better here than on the album, fantastic live performance.
When you choose to jam to this instead of going out on a Sat. Night 🥰
I don’t know how I haven’t listened to any of their live stuff before now. This exceeded my expectation by far, I gotta catch one of their shows

Die sind ja der absolute Wahnsinn 😜 ich liebe diese Band 🤪🔥🔥🔥🔥🇩🇪
All her songs have turned me into a melancholy person since 2005.
indie_ or_die im amazed with their music.... girl power
indie_ or_die love your username!
I was in Seattle that week. I wish I had known about this show beforehand.
Amazing set
I f*cking love it! Every now and then a really nice discovery!
YES. been waiting for this ever since her recent (AMAZING) album came out. love seeing both sisters together making music as well
kaki yes i miss ps eliot :( glad both of them are still playing together though
this is glorious
All the best songs from the album :D
Never Been Wrong With Waxahatchee !!!!!!!
i swear u hardly find some finer musicians than this band has anywhere
After listening to this, it seems like so long ago since Ivy Tripp first came out. I really feel that this album was the bridge between Katie's prior work, and her newest album, Great Thunder. I love how she's continuously growing as an artist. So many great musicians get stuck in their own comfort zone of monotony, and ultimately lose their soul purpose. Not Waxahatchee. She's a genuine heart.
OH OH OH !! loved it.
So good x
I love her!
Yo i've been waiting this since she post it on IG
Oh my lanta.
I've never been so in love.
Just one Word : 💙
that drummer is a beast!
omg 🤩
Awesome
That drum intro in silver...
Amei
thanks :3
topperson
Does anyone know which fuzz/overdrive/synth etc. pedal the bass player is using on the song Hear You? It sounds great!
I don't know for certain but my bassist has a Deluxe Bass Big Muff and a Soul Food O/D pedal both made by Electro-Harmonix. He also has a sweet Rickenbacker 4001, and the combination of those 3 components playing through a 1966 Fender Bassman makes a beautiful noise comparable to what I hear in that song
Topão
quiero verlo en Español...como hago x favorrr
Who's the girl of the pink guitar? 😮💕
turn up that vocal mic
Mamando " el vítor" is in the drums ??? Its done
Can anyone say which effects are used on the pink guitar in Never Been Wrong??
I'd say distortion and some reverb
could be wrong
I cannot understand the lyrics here very well I hope the recording is better, but it is good but for that
i like the new guitarist
I'm not sure I do. The sound she's getting (seems super lo fi) is cool for one or two songs, but it got old by the third.
Edit: hmm... maybe I take it back. Sounds great on the last song. (I commented before I finished it.)
孟儒楊 She killed it when I saw them live
Ali Donohue is the shit
The guitar is amazing on this set.
What is the name of the lead guitarist with the Strat and glasses? There's no sign of her on google and she doesn't seem to get a credit anywhere. I'd love to check out her other work, as she's very cool.
Ali Donohue.
@@mattvenhaus2798 Thanks so much! Not an easy name to find!
who is the new guitarist?
She's rad, that's for sure. I love how noisy/atmospheric/aggressively she plays
Does anyone know who is playing lead on the pink guitar?
who's in the band here besides the famous sisters?
ugh katie is adorable i want a 5 minute conversation with her.
high-cut straight bangs is the new mullet
@@henrysoults3773 The sort where you know their politics before they open their mouths!
what the fuck is wrong with the commenters on these videos
A lot of complaints but for me I thought it was good. Guitar is a little off but who cares still great.
KEXP you do fantastic sessions normally and I love your new performance space so I hate to say this but the sound production is so off in this session. I don't claim to have any great knowledge of sound production but to me it seems like the lead guitar is coming through far too loud, to the point of being distracting or overpowering of the rest of the performance. I don't know how accidental this was but I am sure it was not how Katie would have intended/wanted it. Saw Katie live only last week and the additional guitars were only intended to broaden the soundscape which she creates not to drown her out. They complimented Katie's performance perfectly in that regard. Again I'm not expert but am giving hopefully constructive criticism as a superfan of Katie's music and as a fan of KEXP.
Sceivious I'm 19, new to youtube.. Check my music y'all I need subscribers :)) nothing crazy but in need views to be seen 🤷🏻♂️
i'm cool with the loud guitars, just make Katies's vox louder too
Just FYI, Katie's own sound engineer, Jade Payne, did the mix, so we're pretty sure that this is the balance she wanted. It's meant to be a guitar heavy set -- as she says in the interview.
Thanks for the reply and that clarification KEXP. I still think it's inconsistent with her live shows. Maybe she wanted to try a different sound for the session. Judging by most other comments it's received well anyway.
Nice KEXP, doubling down on the bad acts you feature. Keep it up.
seriously at a loss. What is it that makes this band unique
at next cut hair and diss Boy? ??
Kurt Cobain its you!
They sound so much more powerful live. Not disparaging the record but it's washed in guitars so much that punch of the drums gets lost sometimes. Just my opinion!
That drummer is dragging
I love the album but I'm a bit underwhelmed by the performance here.
You must be kidding. This is a burner
Waxahatchee is a great band, but you gotta admit that they look like a bunch of librarians with guitars.
Lesbian librarians, to be exact.
God forbid.
Who fucking cares
I really want to like this, cause she looks like someone I'd hang out with or even date, we'd share similar views and read the same books. It's often what we fall for in artists; someone who feels familiar to us, with whom we would connect given the right circumstances. But I just don't rate the music she makes.
this drummer totally ruins the song :(
not good.... and I think the pink guitar may be way out of tune... sound mix has too much guitar and bit too much drums... Did that first song seriously repeat two notes over and over...
Surprise, when a band uses the exact same gear as every other melancholy Millennial rock act, they sound just like them. Boring, overused lyrical sentiments and boring, overused appearances.
I'm sorry, what other "millennial rock act" do they sound like?
