I've been flying FPV for 3 or so years now, professionally for about 6 months, I've introduced loads of people to the hobby and you guys summarised everything in 10 minutes. Insanely well done guys, this will be what I send to everyone interested in FPV!
@@felix7120 Entirely knowing people, having a following on social media helps a little but just getting out there and offering free vids for sport or action will probably be your best spot to start!
@@felix7120 You'll probably be fine with your 7 and 3 to be honest! The 7 would make a great long range quad and the 3 is the perfect size for small and slow stuff
HUGE TIP FOR NEWBS: Learn how to slow down, hover, and land! It’s the key to throttle control and getting through gaps and around proximity. Great video full of good info 👍
The biggest thing holding be back from getting into FPV was having to build my own drone, so I’m glad to see there are a lot of great pre-built options out there! Thanks for sharing 🙌🏼
It's not that hard. I have never had a soldering iron in my hand before I started building my drone. Build my second one recently and you really know how to repair them, when you have to - and you will 😅
This is probably addressed somewhere in the 150-some comments, but I wanted to say that a person can use any controller and still get DJI HD FPV...(even controllers that are shaped a lot like game controllers). Now in the long run I'm not saying that is for SURE the right path to go down, but the DJI controller itself is $300...there are many good controllers available for a lot less $$ that can be combined with a DJI HD air unit and DJI headset, for less money than going all-DJI. Also, while practicing FPV by looking at the computer screen is necessary with the DJI headset (because it doesn't have an HDMI input), a person COULD practice FPV while WEARING a headset if they chose a different headset that DOES offer an HDMI input. This is probably more aimed at folks who will go down the analog road (as there are many headsets for analog that also have an HDMI input), so cost-wise, while STAYING analog is overall cheaper, and offers the ability to practice FPV with the headset on, if a person wanted to eventually go digital, their analog headset would probably just sit on the shelf (or of course could be sold).
I haven't watched but I'm super Excited when Ever there is an upload from parker walbeck the Mentor. This guy transformed the way i see and do Videography.💯👊
Landon, thank you so very much for this video. I have watched it a week ago and you finally motivated me to get into the hobby. I have done a ton of research and bought a cheap RTF bundle to ease into FPV. Will probaby upgrade to DJI too if I enjoy it. One of the few RUclips videos which impacted me deeply! And as usual very well made and packed with great tips. Thanks again!
Buying a prebuilt will pigeon hole you if you crash and need to perform repairs. It is super beneficial to at least understand the ins and outs of building, config, and repair. If you really want to do it properly you will work through the steps of, simulator practice, buy a whoop to get air time, then build, fly, crash, repeat.
Thanks for tips. Been really into wanting to learn how to fly advanced drones lately. Had got a small drone for Christmas last year from a friend at work and havent put it down since. Now i wanna record and fly more top notch shit all the time. This motivates me to go ahead to start purchasing some more items and getting the hang of fpv culture more. Good stuff! Happy flying and thanks again!
Flying fpv is completely different than flying a mavic dude! I recommend an Emax tiny hawk. If you know your going to stick with it. Then buy the Bind and fly (BNF) version which is the drone only (roughly $70) and then get a decent transmitter/radio ($150-500) & decent goggles ($150-$600). Then practice loads on a simulator before your maiden flight. If you're not willing to spend the extra on those then a Ready to fly (RTF) version that sells for $140 which includes a starter (toygade but still work ok) radio$50 & goggles$50. GL!
Building a drone is a lot of fun and gets you more involved with the hobby. To be honest I am super hyped building my own FPV then flying it, it is part of the fun :P Also if you crash it you can change parts and fix it in no time :)
This video was excellent. Lot of nuggets in here. I just got the mavic air 2, but kept seeing the phrase FPV drone and I was thinking what the hell is that? Now I know. Looks fun actually
Come and watch our road trip to Daykundi; a rural area of Afghanistan, the video is English and we are sure you will enjoy watching the beauties of Afghanistan
GREAT concise FPV breakdown as i've google plenty of timed how to get started and the results either was confusing for me or confusing and lengthy. Have to say you guys get to the point quickly. Good job I also have to point out that you'd need to pay a little more attention with the edits, ive notices 2 flash fields/frames first at 3:08 then something funky around 9:58. Can't be promoting editing classes with simple editing errors. Again love the video and excited to start mt fpv journey, thanks
Just a correction there. You do not need a DJI remote to fly digital. You can use any rx/tx system or remote coupled with the DJI digital video. So the remote is a separate consideration. Personally I fly DJI goggles but I prefer crossfire for the remote. Just mentioning in case someone misunderstands.
Still recommended people to buy velocidrone stimulator which is way better than lift-off. Velocidrone feels more like flying real quad compared to lif-off too floaty. - Fly in sim - learn the knowledge at the same time - watch Mr Steele beginner guide - watch Joshua Bardwell build videos - Learn to build your own quad, so you will know how to repair - be patient and make sure you really good in sim before getting into the real flight (unless you got lots of money to burn) - understand which quad and style you are flying. There are a lot of different builds. For example, racing, freestyle, cinewhoop, long-range, toothpicks.
Good sound advice 👌🏻 a simulator requires a computer with a decent graphics card ! A tiny whoop would be a good alternative , crash it over and over it will keep flying 👍🏻
Great flying, Landon. Yeah its a bit jerky, but who cares. 30 days worth of practice and a great looking FPV promo video. Awesome stuff. I've never been inspired to fly FPV until I saw this. I can't wait to see the behind the scenes in the FTF group.
Killer video day 4 for me on simulator and no way I can even fly through that damn barn yet let alone like u. It is frustrating but great advice thank you. I guess DJI dropping fpv drone next week too!
I’ve got the Canon Eos R and still do love it, and I am thinking about to buy the Atomos Ninja V! Would be nice if you can compare the Canon Eos R+Ninja V to the Canon R6 (and maybe Canon R5). The difference and benefits? ✨ it’s a bit to expensive these days to buy a new camera 🙂
by the way analog is a lot cheaper and is fully customizable/upgradable I would recommend building your own drone because when you break it (you will) you know exactly how to repair it

Could I ask you how you stepped onto the professional sector? (Been flying fpv now for 1 Year)

This guy is SUPERB you can't even get time of closing the video. You get hooked up until end❤️❤️
FPV drones can do some crazy shots when used correctly, considering purchasing one for my channel and i’m sure this video will b helpful if i do!

You are so creative👌🏻🧨
Have you ever tried mounting a 360 cam on it, while flying it like a normal drone just in a shorter range? I think that could look pretty cool
Wren from corridor crew has done the same. If you haven't watched it yet, check him out !
It is good to show options such as 'low-end' up to 'high-end'. Nice.

thanks for the tips about the practice software. i'm totally gonna start there.

Real good card..hows it going brother?
lol its good that i have a $2000 computer lol
velocidrone is the best sim imo and runs on my crappy macbook pro
The 30 minute sessions on sim is a very important tip. Keep it to 30 min and do it daily. If you do 2/3 hours daily you will burn out and stop.
i fly mavic2pro almost 2 year. now i need to fly fpv. looks cool
I asked it, they did it 😍😍😍
superrr gonna try fpv some day
That Intro oooooh😍😍😍

Nothing like a simulator to get your drone skills to the next level! Those 1000 crashes sound about right 😂
