Its brilliant, had the 1.4 TSI Station wagon/estate but got flooded. Insurance paid out $4500 more than I paid for it so good buy, even in NZ where second hand cars come at a premium. Did everything I wanted it to do, plus had the headlights point around corners when moving at slow speed! First time I'd seen that so was a bonus. At least my daughter got 6k km out of it, I only drove it 4 or 5 times!!

Great wee engine yeah 1.4 tsi. In the case of the Golf I'd pick the petrol over the diesel.

I’ve had one of these. Best car I’ve ever owned.

Just to note, I had a bit of footage that got corrupted and had to be left out of the final cut where I acknowledge more about the other reason I think this could be the last great Golf (comparing more to the MK8), which is simply because the interior quality is better in the MK7/ 7.5 and so when you add the infotainment changes that came with the MK8, this is why. Plus, I think it looks better. Full disclosure, I haven't driven the MK8, but I've been in one!

Great video! Been following your channel for a while and I am considering buying a new car between Octavia or BMW 320i. In terms of riding and comfort, do you think Skoda comes close to the BMW in drive quality and for comfort do you think seats and lumbar support also edge it? I also have back problem so want lumbar, but I've been hearing bmw have some of the best seats

Thanks for the comment! The seats in the Octavia were definitely better by quite some distance, for me anyway. The suspension is very firm on both but would probably say I found it marginally more annoying in the Skoda, however, either car on an open road will not be terrible but around town it'll be proper firm and fidget.. For the F or G 3 series, I just don't rate the seats at all, though, but mainly because they are too firm for me and as I usually buy used cars, finding ones with lumbar support is a challenge. If I'd had this in my F30, it would have made a big difference but the Octavia definitely wins on seats in my opinion.
