There is definitely a learning process for anyone who has not driven a Tesla previously. I watched RUclips videos for about two years before deciding to purchase a Model 3 AWD Long Range in December 2019, and this helped some, in addition to a test drive before purchasing. The most helpful feature is the full use of voice commands. This reduces time looking at or interacting with the touchscreen. Regarding the glove box, it can be opened by the voice command "Open Glovebox.". Even easier than that, press and hold the left scroll wheel, and the glove box will open.
@@car_babble I used the open glovebox voice command today and it searched my USB stick for a song with that name instead of opening the glovebox. Not sure why as it usually works.
Heated seat controls can be dragged onto the dock at the bottom so you dont need to go into climate menu. Right scroll wheel in - "make it hotter" or cooler. Will increase temp. You dont need to go into the menus then at all. Set her a seperate profile for seat/mirror/wheel position as well.
If you fold the mirrors in, it can remember the location so it will do it every time. Go into the mirror settings and you can delete your home location, so it wont do it again.
Yes I did figure this out very soon after but it was funny at the time and shows how the tech can catch you out before you've got it all figured out. Thanks
Took a model 3 for a test drive yesterday and when i returned to park it folded the mirrors in based on location - BEFORE I had reversed into the parking spot 🤣
Hilarious, saw the looks on your face when you said; the brake is the middle peddle, same as any other car lmao! Cute husband and wife video and bonding moment 😂😂😉
Tell her she can push the right scroller button for voice commands , like turn on or off the heat, close or open mirrors, turn on or off the windshield wipers, take me home etc. There are many useful voice commands and It is safer to use than looking at the screen for things while driving. Study the manual or watch a RUclips video on Tesla voice commands feature. Congratulations on getting your Tesla. 🎉
It has antispin for slippery conditions, like many new cars, which works automatically. You can choose "chill" acceleration mode though to reduce it some:) It has worked great here in Norway (although we use snow tires).
Your wife's joy soaking in all the Tesla-ness of the Model 3 took me back to my first drive in one. Great video, thanks for sharing. The offspring's staggering your outro was comedy gold - you can't write stuff like that! Hope you enjoy the car - which, let's face it is a smartphone grafted onto a sports car! All we need is someone to flip the regulatory switch so blighty gets all the benefits of FSD. EAP is good - but the best is yet to come.
You only need to undo your seatbelt for the Park to enable. Your wife is exactly the same as mine - same questions, same reactions! Bloody funny to watch.
You can "dock" some of the HVAC buttons next to the bottom "app tray" (favorite apps), esp seat heaters, defrosters, fan controls, etc... and voice controls... it does take some time to get used to , but worth it!
If you want an drivers display then there is plenty of aftermarket options that looks pretty good. If i ever get an Tesla i will get one of those for sure.
Never had a demand for that. I switched from a VW Caddy to a Model 3 in 2019 in 5 minutes i never looked back. Only the cargo space is too small, that is why i switched to a Y.
The video is 3 months old now so I assume you guys have figured out most stuff, most important thing is that I noticed you're in easy access mode, you should create a profile for you and your wife. Profiles allow you to save your settings such as seat position, mirrors, etc and then easily switch between them. These profiles can also be tied to the keys such as both of your phones, so depending on who's phone approaches the drivers door first, the car will select that profile :) If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask me. I've been following Tesla for many years and will be buying a 2022 model 3 soon!
Model 3 pretty good in winter. Tyres are the real decider. You'll get used to the car really quickly. There aren't emergency release handles on the back doors. Almost all passengers will open the door using the emergency release until you've told them how to use the button. What gets really unsettling is autopilot until you get used to it. I think of it like asking an adolescent learner to grab the wheel. 99.5% of the time it'll do fine, sometimes it won't. It's not as good as in the US. Sounds like your car remembered the location to fold the mirrors after you had folded them in before setting off. Just need it to forget that location - it can be useful at some entrances but it's easier just leaving auto folding off.
@@car_babble by the way, to make the driving more easy for beginners, put the car in chill mode... This will make it easier to drive in winter and that accidentally pressing the Gaspedal to accelerate to crazy.
That made me laugh out loud….. my M3LR arrives in a few weeks and I’ll be having the same experience with my other half. I’ll be interested to see what she thinks compared to her Ecosport…..🤣🤣
Any of the recent new cars are Ryzen. Few years back (2021?) were Atom, so might be. You can check in the Software menu, car details. Even Atom is very fast, more responsive screen that most any other car infotainment, only slow bits are launching browser, netflix/youtube etc. map/routing/apps etc are snappy

More Model 3s have been sold than any other BEV. In Norway, the country with the most BEV saturation, it has now outsold the previous biggest selling vehicle, the VW Beetle. Bloomberg survey found astonishly high satisfaction with 97% would buy another! Model Y was the best selling vehicle in the world in 2023... So outlier opinion.
@@car_babble "The best car is no car" - No, live in CBD and ride an electric cycle. Spent the equivalent on Tesla shares and no longer have to worry about money. Perhaps I was harsh - maybe he was making an innocent comment on the generous size of the Model 3 boot?!

@leslie19611 haha that's mental
You can fix the defrost rear and front to the bottom hot bar along with the heated seats makes it easy don't have to faff about looking for them
Thanks for that info!!!
