This literally just happened to me asking me to do a car check to be honest it’s the buyers responsibility to do the relevant checks if your word is not good enough I said iam not clicking the link as the company doesn’t show up on google and said I think it’s a scam then he left the chat

I have used motorway a few times… lately it has totally changed. The first call after jumping through all the hoops is blatantly a rep that is paid on reducing your value. This person told me they had viewed my pictures and adjusted value according to the alloy scratches. There are zero scratches. They then told me that the shot of the service history in the cars on board system was not proof of service and said it was going to list with no service history! They have totally changed. Never again. A year ago, great system. Now…..total scammers. Kirsty did well to avoid them.

I will watch later but I recently used Carwow and was happy with the service. The car didn’t meet reserve and was then put on buy if now. Dealer made an offer and I accepted. Collected few days later by agency driver who barely looked at it (night before I was out with the t cut covering scratches on the roof)

These buying tactics are unacceptable, good on her. As soon as anyone arrives at my house to buy a car I know I have the advantage (as they have travelled hours usually). Another lesson works the other way around if you are a buyer, negotiate BEFORE you set off, not whilst you are there, you don't have much leverage otherwise. That company probably lost £400 in time and travel to view that car, and they deserved that loss.

So cowboys are still alive and well in the car business! My personal experience of Motorway was much better than this, but well done Kirsty!

I currently own a LandCruiser and it doesn't miss a beat. But I'm looking at a SQ7 2018 as I fancy some fast but also still big for the family. I had an Audi A3 sline in 2013 and it cost me a fortune to run. I have PTSD from that car. Lol. So not sure i want to go through that again.

You arent saving any planet with an EV… how are these made again! Have you seen the videos with all the children… EV should pay more because of this and for dragging our piwer grid down because of the way our government is going with net zero… another complete con!

Any owner thoughts on the petrol 250 variant?

I have a 2020 M3 (Calafonian) and I do use chill mode as I am not a speed freak. The chill mode makes the car easier to drive and is kinder to to tyres and drivetrain. I had a crappy Astra Tourer diesel before. That car had crap handling and was wallowey. The Tesla is a massive improvement in handling and of course performance. The Tesla is a great car for long journeys, I can drive for hours and hours with no fatigue. I do find you have to use the adaptive cruise control as it is near impossible to judge your speed in the Model 3. I rarely use the autosteer as the nags are too snnoying.

Why shouldn't EV owners pay road tax? the tax is for the vehicle to be on the public road not whether you use it or not.

I've a Model Y and yes, I recommend anyone to test drive before you have an "opinion " , but it's the absolutely criminal charges for insurance. For the life of me I can't see how they can justify it. Just like Veterinarians, they can charge what they want!

With the cost of an EV, rising electric prices, and road tax, they are no longer the attractive purchase they originally were. However saying that, I would never ever go back to a diesel or petrol, EV's are an absolute joy to drive.

40 grand is 40grand! It's not the cost of entry to car ownership or unavoidable, it's the cost of buying if you have unrealistic expectations of what you can afford and deserve. Far cheaper options exist.. Second hand, other fuels.... I suspect behind this for a lot of people is a sense of entitlement 🙄

These are a bit of a steal at the minute around £21K. Worth a look I think!

What a fantastic road trip! I have been thinking about one - it's a cracking car. How is the refinement in general? I have a hybrid which is good at motorway speeds, but a little noisy at low revs.

Not often mentioned is all JLR models are made with aluminum so are much lighter and more economical than their rivals and in 20 years can still look like new while rivals like Mercs are in scrap yards peppered with rust. Also remember aluminum doors closing will sound "tinnier" in your very scientific "door close quality test"

Minor corrections. It's 150hp and 340nM being the facelift. The preface lift is 150hp and 320nm. The previous gen engine from the Golf 6 has 140hp. And it is a wet clutch not a dry clutch, it needs DSG oil changes every 40.000 miles. Other than that great review mate👏. I own one myself and it is a great car, altough as you have said the steering being light and the suspension being a tad on the soft side it's not that appealing for spirited driving. Changing the coilovers definitely makes a big difference. Cheers

Quarter of a billion pounds to be received by DVLA this April for EV emissions tax

So ev buyers lost a whack of what they paid new out the box , paying more insurance annually than a equivalent ice or plug in hybrids , 😢 plus the public chargers cost same as fuelling up a ice engine in miles value. Stupid greedy foolish shortsighted dvla and government have removed all the carrots 🥕😢😢 so the forward looking big GREEN plan to convert to a lower emissions country is going to fail 😢 . My brother in law bought in 2016 a french deisal suv has done a 100,000 miles and doesnt pay f all in emission tax , i mean road tax . Why the f don't dvla address THAT INSTEAD , AYE ????? WA-- - - ERS . I drove a deisal seat leon up to 2016 , 20 pound a year RT , lol. Ps should be 50 quid for a ev per annum

Unfortunately the road tax doesn't go towards maintaining the roads. It just goes in to the government cash account.

In case anyone missed it, the ECS of £410 per year is on top of the standard rate of tax for the particular vehicle. Also, if the list price of a new vehicle is, for arguments sake £40,001 for instance but, you get a discount from the dealer so you pay less than list price, you still have to pay the ECS for five years.

I get it, but in all honesty, pretty poor review. This car is a small City Car. I don't know what you were expecting but your not going to get a great car at any entry level. Especially with small cars. You need to try the N Line to get the full idea of what this model can offer. Especially if your used to driving a gas guzzling Sante Fe. Sorry.
