I just installed the Bilstein B14 coilovers on my 7.5 GTI and i was shocked on how nice of a ride it is. i was expecting teeth rattling and kidney blowers but Bilstein came through with this setup. the damping and spring rate is tuned to perfection. I mean it is bilstein. Not harsh but also not stiff. Im running Extreme Contact sports from continental. 235/35 19.
I have also been running these on my R 7.5 for more than one year now, no complain they are really good springs, not too harsh on the ride even in sport mode.
Are you on OEM struts? I’ve heard from several people who installed these springs that the ride gets pretty rough as time goes by. What has been your experience? Thanks!
@FunRuns thank you for sharing your experience with me man. Much appreciated! I’ve decided not to install lowering springs. As much as I love the look it give to the car, I’m not willing to sacrifice comfort for looks. But I’m not gonna lie to you, a GTI/R with lowering springs look sick.
i put vw racingline springs on my mk5 r32 and its been a month and its only lowered it a quarter of an inch as opposed to the advertised .75 to an inch drop, i'd choose something else if you have a mk5
awesome video mate, u are hitting perfect all the things that somebody wanna hear before buy them, one question , u have 10mm speacer for front and back too ?
hi let me ask you a question i just received same springs for my RS3 8Y but they did not come with any shorter bump stops ? did you get your spriings with them? such as H&R springs which i had before they came with shorter bump stops so i wonder why racingline does not need them shorter thanks
The spring rate is progressive for R. I installed racingline springs in my mk7 1.4 tsi 7months ago and the spring rate is lineal. The wheel gap is perfect now, but I am thinking to reinstall the original spring because the streets of my city are bad. I installed the springs with the oem struts (7,000 km) and some times feeling the suspenecion some stiff. Do you think if install bilstein B8 with this springs the handling improve?
Great video! Looks great! Feedback: please watch your volume adjustments on music and your voice. Your music is way overpowering and your voice level is too quiet. The video will be very quiet with your voice and then blasted with loud dubstep music.
Hey glad to see you’ve enjoyed the content. I changed jobs a few months ago and my work hours have not really allowed for much content to be filmed and edited. I have a few days off during the holidays so I’ll see what I can do !

Great video. I got a brand new GTI 2 months ago and hate the wheel gap. Been trying to decide the best springs for it as a daily. You just sold me.
Thanks for the review and like you, I'd like to lower my GTI a bit, but keep the OEM ride feel.

@FunRuns 😂
Great video! Thanks for rocking the sticker!
DO you think bilstein B8 is good option to work with racingline springs on a golf mk7 1.4 tsi?
@@rogerea337 Yes, can't see why not.

10mm front 15mm back as the back wheels are more sunk in from the factory. Thx for the comments, cheers!

We don’t have the same car so your kit may vary. Mine did not come with bump stops I don’t believe the drop requires them.
Very nice! Torque axle bolts to what ftlb?

You’d have to ask others with the same car and that kit. Bilstein b8 coils are usually very good but I am not sure how they would make your car ride.
can i have a part number of vwr please ?
I saw some reviews that it dropped it 1.5”? I don’t believe that’s true though I I gave 19x8 rims on mine you think that would be a problem?
Pls check out their website VW racing line I’m sure it says how much it drops I’d say 1 to 1.2 inches in the front and slightly less in the back.
Hi.
What spacers did you install on your golf?
Ledger design 10mm fronts 15mm in the back with longer bolts
Does your car have DCC? wondering if VWR works with dcc.
Yes and yes !
Great video! Looks great!

Thx for the feedback !
You should link to the product.
I usually do but this came from a few different places and the spacers were used.
Spring -25mm?
Not sure in mm but in inches it’s 1.2 front any 0.8 rear racinglinecanada.com/collections/frontpage/products/golf-r-vwr-sports-spring-kit
Why no new videos please?
