The device is 200$ normally in Canada. The tune is usually between 650-750 CAD depending if there is a rebate. I believe they have a sale going right now !
The best thing to do is check on Unitronic’s website for that it will tell you if you have anything else to install. It may be different for the MK8 so I’d rather you check there.
@@misteret5441 just to make sure I will be doing it right, you attach you positive and negative charger cables to the battery and don't remove the cables that connects the car to the battery right? So basically just adding the charger in top of the battery connected to the car.

would you say that its worth buying the uniconnect+ and do it yourself at home or bring it to the unitronic dealer and have them do it for you? I have really no experience in this so I ma afraid of doing any mistakes.
It’s pretty easy to do at home so if you plan on playing with the tune and going back to stock for dealer visits it’s a must. If you are more in the set it and forget it mood get a shop to flash it for you.
Wish I could answer but have since sold the car and upgraded to a stage 1 DSG R. That car had been fast and flawless for more than 2 years with the tune.
Generic map, one map fits all, not all cars are the same, most ecu are now locked so cannot use obd port. If you had a DSG box it seems a contradictory way of re mapping, you remap the ecu engine tune, then re tune the ecu again for the gearbox, which would alter the remapped engine file to protect the dsg.
Sold it a couple years ago clutch would have needed a change but aside from that I’m sure she’s still going strong. I have a stage 1R now. Have had it like that for over a year with 0 issues even in very cold weather.
@@cjyayday6270 I live in a much colder climate so it is only recommended for stage 2 and needed for big turbo setups. Since Florida is much warmer, if you can afford it this would be a good investment. If you want to be sure send unitronic an email they are the experts !
Thanks for putting this video together, enjoy the Software!
if i run this on my gti will my stock clutch get burnt. i have a 2020 mk7.5 gti
@@bradcaamano4566 It's never a bad idea to upgrade your clutch on a tuned vehicle long term. Some may experience slip sooner than others.

One simple question that tells me everything: can you boost performance of an atmosferic gas engine? 🧐
You can by getting more air in and removing it faster but turbos and superchargers make it much easier.
Hi newb here. You dont need a downpipe mod for a Stage 1 right?
Correct. That’s stage 2
Amazing thank you 🙏🏾 do you think the clutch with hold with the stage 1+ tune?
For some time but it didn’t after a few months for me so I would recommend an upgrade soon after.
When you got the device, what more besides the 150 did you have to pay for the software? for the stage 1 91 octane?

@@misteret5441 beautiful thanks! Did you feel the gti couldn't handle the power well enough being fwd?
I thought it felt like it should have come like this from the factory it was just the right amount of power and still felt very oem+
@@misteret5441 beautiful! Thank you for the reply. I think I will go with this time for my mk7.

What front splitter is that at the start of the video? Thanks!
Maxton Design v1
which intake do you have and can you link it to me please.
I have the Unitronic mk7 intake just go to their website and select your car for the right fitment !
can I do this without doing anything else to the car? or do you recommend other upgrades to pair it with the tune. I have a 15 GTI auto stock.
If it’s an auto you need to do the dsg tune as well and an intake is recommended by unitronic to maximize the gains.
Do you have to buy the software or is the cable and the computer all you have to buy
You have to buy a code for your stage from Unitronic so you can upload the tune to the car
Mexico looks great 😆
So I keep the charger on the battery and also keep the car cables on the car?
*on the car battery
It’s best to keep the battery charged while doing the tune as you’ll leave it on accessory for about 30 mins

For best results I’d recommend it.
How has the tune held up reliability wise? Anything get worn or break because of it?

How does your fuel efficiency fare after the tune? I’m hoping similar if not more.
Slightly better fuel economy than stock unless you are always beating on it.

Bien d’accord et spotté avec la R? C’est possible je passe en avant à tous les jours.

Does this also tune the DSG ?
If you have a Dsg car and buy the upgrade for that as well yes it does
I was wondering how much is tune
650-750$ CAD depending if you get it during a sale or not.
Does stage 2 allow you to have pops and bangs?
I believe the answer is yes if you have a DSG. I am not sure as I purchased and installed a Stage 1. Pls check with Unitronic.
Hey! Good video, where i can buy one of those for my mk7
Check out Unitronic’s website and look for retailers close to you. I purchased mine at a local show in Montreal Canada.
Sadly the Uniconnect+ cables are no more available for purchase !!
I believe it is still for sale www.getunitronic.com/ecu-tuning/volkswagen-gti-20l-tsi-ea888-2015-2015-uniconnectplus
Will this bring up a TD1?
I’d ask Unitronic directly I’m not the expert.
Great video..
How long was the install process?
Calculate about 30 mins all in all a battery charger is a good idea.
Merci
could you sell me one of these via ebay? the cable costs 150 dollars there, but here in Brazil they ask for 450 dollars
Sorry I don’t work for unitronic you would have to contact them for a cable for your car. They are paired to a car.

Were you running stock clutch at the time of install and are you still on this tune? If so any clutch slip?
Yes I was but sold the car soon after for a DSG R. No slip after install and I even took it drag racing.
I believe the GTI uses the same clutch as the Golf R, so it should hold up fairly well.

None and even took the car to a drag racing event at a local track. Your driving style on 5-6 th gear will affect how long your clutch will last.

When do you buy the tune is it after the cord?
If you have an authorized reflash dealer you don’t need the cable. If you want to do it yourself buy both at the same time the cable and the tune.
