one of the hardest things I had to do was hold back the tears as Thes One played some records in honor of Double K. As some of yall may know there was a memorial celebration streamed online where Thes One played records in order to remind everyone of the good times he and Double K had during their run as PUTS. Should be on youtube somewhere. I got sucked in by this group immediately the moment I heard this track it was like a gateway to the early 90s. It was during the pandemic that I really sat down to listen to their discography and I couldnt help but think that finding this group just about the time Double K was leaving this earth was like destiny. Like there was a higher power signaling me toward this group; to never let their music die. Like me and a bunch of other new listeners entered this place full of smart lyrics and dope beats. Like it was Double K holding the door to us newbs just as he was heading to a new destination. We were heading into this house of music, while the man was getting ready to leave.
