Talk about a kickass intro! I stumbled across you through my recommended and you are a gem. SERIOUSLY. I'm obsessed with liminal spaces, but something about "liminal pools" blow my mind. I understand the creepiness in an empty water park or a water park with a bizarre design, but for me it elicits a much more euphoric or calm feel. There's something so freeing and peaceful about poolcore images, I wish I could live in a poolcore image.

I think a big part about pools being such a big part of liminal space stuff is that hotel pools/indoor water parks are places you visit when your a child so your memory of them slowly becomes warped by dreams and time

Hey I used to take swimming classes at the waterpark at 2:49 and before you even said where it was located I was like "that kind of reminds me of that waterpark I did swimming class at."

3:04 That water park I've actually been to, I was visiting some family for a few weeks and my aunt took me there, I remember having a lot of fun and especially staying in the wave pool as they're my favorite thing at water parks, I also remember walking around and thinking "wow this place is run down and still gets people? That's amazing." (in reality it was just chipped paint) but yeah solid 11/10 water park best thing there other than the wave pool was Dip 'n' Dots.

alright about the image at 2:04 - and I could 100% be wrong - but it reminds me a lot of The Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC. The boxy things in the back remind me a lot of the mini golf course that The Dunes has and the pool itself also looks a lot like one of the pools there. I've been there a few times and have had room views extremely similar to this so maybe look into that?

I was just watching you video, calmish as can be while learning more about liminal spaces. i wasnt loking at the screen. So when i heard the aot music i nearly jumped out of my skin-
When I was around 4 or 5 I had an a very special experience. My father go to work and I wanted to go with him so I pushed the button for the elevator but maybe I make an combination and an different elevator come. The normal elevator had windows the new had green painted Steel doors and round buttons and when you push it it glows. Over the door you can find a plate for your destination and where are you now and the location changed when you change the floor level. The elevator was 6-8 times bigger than regular and war designed like a bus from the I suppose 70s 80s Also in normal Situation I had a secret floor between the ground floor and cellar/ basement but here you can only get there by staircase.

One kind of image/video that fascinates me is of empty pools. it’s a familiar place but the lack of water makes that place completely different. instead of water there’s just a giant empty hole in the ground.
I've been looking for this nostalgic feeling all my life... its like something was not right in my life, and the places i visited. Like when you got to a school at night, something is not quite normal. And TODAY i just found all of my dream places, waterparks... I used blender to design some sort of waterpark that i've seen before, maybe on reality, maybe on my dreams... But that place, still there, all covered with pool mosaics, blue as the main color, like it should have a pool there, but there isn't.
I felt like putting this here, the TTT waterworld map is/was a real place. The creator of the map used to go to the water park when he was younger and decided to remake it, but it unfortunately shut down. If you’d like to know more look it up on RUclips, someone made a great video explaining it.

this reminds of my vacations in Brazil, i think I was 4 years old and I can't remember almost anything but a beach, a giant chess board and that there were a lot of Iguanas everywhere and the time I ride a rented bike with my brother, but for some reason, the images of liminal spaces of hotels with swimming pools remind me of those vacations, even knowing that they do not resemble in the least what I saw when I was in that place

Okay Im gonna talk about a dream I had some of the pools remind me of. I Was in a waterpark, the water was very blue and so were the water slides. I was talking to someone, not really a person I knew but I was calm. It was very pretty. Though there were some strange things. First of all it had no exists, it was just surrounded by fog or mist. Second of all there was an actual dolphin, and it moved on land like a seal and eventually went into the water. It was weird, the park had everything but exits, and who knows how big the park actually was. Also there was a statue of a dolphin in the middle of the pool. Anyhoo thanks for reading about my weird dream!

I'd check out hotels like the Bay View or Landmark and see if they match at all. They look about right to me - pool placement and all.

Hold on, I think I've been to the one at 2:07! Looks a hell of a lot like Ocean Reef Resort's outdoor pool ar Myrtle Beach, South Carolina! I went there back in March and that looks nearly identical to it, but it may not BE it. I don't have the greatest of memories but hopefully the location I gave can help.
