By the way it’s a Mega Mole (Despite being way smaller then a normal Mega Mole) but yeah I do agree that Yoshi broke the laws of reality to kill 2 Mega Moles
The narrator from the first one called it "Super Mario Bros. 4"! That's nice. Also I have a feeling that Yoichi Kotabe and Shigefumi Hino's artwork really influenced some of these commercials. I LOVE IT!
Super Mario Bros. 4 was the original name, it is not in the game but it is on the japanese art box and cartridge, You can also hack Smb4 to be in the titlescreen if your an dataminer.
This here game is definitely the first ever release, since it came with these other snes games too, which the newer makes didn’t. They stopped selling the really old release, along with these other games sometime before 1995 I think.
2:30 How could they weren’t given the clean version of the title screen theme? The SFX (clearly recorded from the game’s TS itself) are a bit intrusive there. Thanks for putting this together :D
From what I understand, it was a big pain back then to rip the music directly from the game and hand them to their marketers. Game commercials after this, like SMW2: Yoshi’s Island for example, make original live remixes of the songs in the game. Commercials that don’t do that just make original music or license music from other studios.
@Alejandro Herrera Barboza Good point! You could even have the game idle at any level to record some of the gameplay music. Granted, the music quality still wouldn’t sound as good as getting the actual rip from the game, but it does sound far better without sound effects.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this game, I reuploaded this video with more commercials, including a bunch of "new" Japanese ones, a "new" American ad and a "new" Chilean ad. I also replaced the original Japanese commercial with a higher quality one. And don't worry, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga will be the next game. I heard you guys.
Words can't describe the endless challenges of Super Mario World. So, we'll let the players do the talking. Super Mario World is here! It's one of the new generation of Nintendo games it only with Super Nintendo and it's like nothing you've ever faced. Now, you're playing with power, super power!
Yeah, I’m sure the reason for that is because the commercials are significantly shorter than the aired animated shows which allowed the animators more time to animated the commercials so they appear to have better quality
Excellent video Vini. If you make a 35th Anniversary one… make sure to include the Canadian Toys R Us version. It’s the one where the announcer says: “Sixteen Bit Graphics, thirty two thousand colours”…. That was the first Super NES commercial I ever saw.
