Useless little factoid of no relevance to anyone but myself: the SMA series was my first experience with each of these games, as opposed to their original console variants, mostly because i had a GBA before i had an NES or SNES. So thats fun. Also, I find it so bizarre that the American commercial for SMA4 was filmed in Japan, and feels very Japanese. I wonder if it was originally intended to be shown in Japan? Maybe there's a variant with Japanese voice over? I dunno.

I find it weird that Japan had the US veriosn of Super Mario Bros 2 instead of the lost levels which was there verison of Mario 2 so it seems weird that they didnt just use the Lost Levels instead of the USA one
This was the last time Nintendo gave a lot of love to the original series. Smb2 was completely overhauled. And smb3 was put on steroids. After that all we get now are Easter eggs in newer games and smm series. 😜

The American SMA4 commercial is indeed based on a Japanese commercial for the GBA in general, they just adapted it to be a SMA4 ad.
