This is another case of Syndicate where the previous release was better 💀. I personally find Odyssey's story more interesting, understandable, and smoother. Where in Valhalla I just feel like everything is being thrown at me all at once.
I completely understand what you’re saying, but personally I prefer Origins out of the most recent trilogy. Even though Odyssey had a more concise story, it lacked any sense of an Assassin’s Creed plot which both Origins and Valhalla had. Near the end, when everyone shows up before the final battle, I had forgotten who half of them were and what plot line they were involved on.
I had to watch this since i quit playing Assassin's Creed long time ago yet I'm still curious about the story they wanted to make the game about. Too bad this franchise became less of assassination and more of facing enemies head-on ;it's actually ironic this game has builds around poison and fire(yeah I've watched some playthroughs) and it hurts for someone like me who 100% every Assassin's Creed until Assassin's Creed Rogue to see how this franchise in every release gets further and further away from the original formula it's used; As Ezio said"Requiescat in Pace".

And now as an adult when The Vikings are invading England Eivor beings to reconnect with their Assassin roots while still being a Viking

thank you for this video bro i stopped playing valhalla a while back after being in the middle of the game just watched this so i can get back into it 👍
Just finished this and I'm finishing mysteries and Basim's anomalies. I feel like the only reason I enjoyed it so much is because I love Vikings and the history, had I not loved the show I probably would not have continued playing... A lot of it could have been smoother and I found myself not caring about some of the more minor plots in the game and was on autopilot for much of it. One thing I was conflicted over was the lead poisoning, he sounded like he was telling the truth when he denied it and Halfdan becomes very depressed when you visit him afterwards, so should I have let him live? Does it really matter lol? They left it pretty open ended on whether or not he actually intentionally poisoned him, essentially saying -- "Welp, I hope we were right 🤷♀️"... So I felt kinda crummy about it 😅... Also kind of wish the romances were more fleshed-out.
I totally agree with you saying that you were on “autopilot” for a lot of the minor plot points of the game, I was the same. So much of the main story should’ve been cut, or at least made into side content. Regarding the lead poisoning I felt like he was trying to double bluff Halfdan by making him feel like perhaps he was going crazy by putting on a good poker face to make him & Eivor feel like he can’t have meant it to let him live. Also, as for the romance options, when a developer that isn’t that skilled at making high quality RPGs does something like that it’s more wise for them to perhaps to stick to 2/3 main romance options like Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077, which allows them to flesh out their relationship a little. Quality over Quantity!
@@thebaranesen yeah, he was very convincing and it made me question my decision. But I do think he was guilty. Romances aren't important to a game but I do enjoy them for some reason. Its a small part of the reason why I love games like The Witcher and Dragon Age etc. Regardless I liked the game either way. Your video helps me put it all together in my head as less of a jumbled mess lmao.
Great video, pretty detailed and there arent many other Valhalla story summary videos out on youtube, but allow me to offer some constructive criticism, I suggest you practice reading at a slightly faster pace, I watched the whole video at 2x playback speed just to get the dialogue at a normal pace. I assume you were reading from a script throughout the video but you read quite slowly which could be off-putting to some viewers and might prevent some from continuing or completing the video. Not trying to be a dick or hurtful/offensive in any way and I apologize if you have difficulties reading or a disorder of some sort. Otherwise a great and detailed video and I will be leaving a like!
Lmao don’t worry, I take all constructive criticism on board. I will try to read faster, but I want an element of emotion in my tone as well so that it gives the viewer the same vibe the story does. However, if I read much faster that may come at the cost of the tone, if you get what I mean. And by the way I take no offence if you watch my videos at 2x speed, especially this one, it was a long video for a long game! Also, thanks for the support on the video!
I just finished playing horizon zero dawn i was thinking of buying a good assassin's creed game i had quit assassin's creed after unity any good game after unity that's worth buying? Please tell me if there is
Horizon Zero Dawn is a great game! I’d say personally my favourite since Unity was Origins. Honestly though, the newer Assassin’s Creed games aren’t anywhere near as good as they used to be, and certainly nowhere near as good as Horizon. So if you’d like recommendations that aren’t Assassin’s Creed let me know, I’d be happy to help.
@@thebaranesen I see i was debating on whether I should play far cry 6 or origins (since I have heard it has a pretty good feedback) I guess I will look more into them
No offence but I think that wasn't the apple of Eden but the crystal Connor (AC3) uses to foresee events of the future. And thanks for making this video by the way.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I completely agree, took me 70 hours to finish the whole thing, too many unnecessary but compulsory plot threads that has nothing to do with the main story. You just saved yourself 40 hours of your life by not finishing the game!
@Quasar.iLLumia that would be interesting if they do it in one game but I’m not sure if I’d like it for all the future games because I like the whole historical aspect.
I played the game until the Ubba & Ivar quest line started. To that point the only enjoyable part was A: the intro and B: the fight against Kjötvi. The rest of the time this game was so boring and one sided. Simply didn't catch me in any way. Now that I know the whole story I'm glad that I didn't continue playing. 1/10 for valhalla. Thanks for your summary
One year later and I finished the game. I had to see by myself if it’s really that bad. In conclusion: Story takes forever and I enjoyed 4/16 alliance chapters. Ending was alright
Fair enough! I personally think it was repetitive, too long, the stealth was weak and far too much of the compulsory missions (different cities to visit) could have been side missions. It was just done to pad out the game. Personally I would go with a 6.5/10.
@Johnny Kass Hanna as far as I remember origins showed how the assassins/hidden ones came to be and what came before the templars. There was an organisation before the templars called order of the ancients, this here (Valhalla) is how the order of the ancients became the templars as we know them today
I think a good way to tell a viking story is one of realism. They should have had him/her or them be captured by ottoman pirates to be sold as a slaves and thus from there the MC become introduced to the assassins. There are Norse or Scandinavian peoples being taken as slaves. Men worked but Christians women were often sold because Islam did permit muslims to be slaves or something. Also wealthy Christians or should I say politically Christians, because there nothing Christians about dealing with slavers. Would by Christians slave women for wives and so because laws forbidding Christians and muslims having relationships of marital or sexual nature. I could be wrong of some details.
@@jaharahmuhammad244 theres a channel called "voices of the past" I believe. Has a video from the perspective of a Scandinavian(?) Who was taken as a slave. By pirates to be sold in the ottoman empire. He was eventually released, I forget why, maybe ransom. Very sad when if come to last story of whole families being separated because of things like slavery, then never see one another again. Fun fact pirates were apparently pretty diverse. Europeans, arabs and Africans
Assassins creed stories are becoming insanely long and boring, kind of like a 5 hour movie. Sure, it gets everything right, just so long and tedious to watch, you almost forget the entire thing or give up. Idk if anyone shared the same sentiment, I’m definitely not finishing 😅
@@RL12778 that’s a fair point. Although, I just googled the name ‘Eivor’, and interestingly it says that it is a female only name, which seems to suggest that female Eivor is cannon.
Eivor can be male/female just like how you can choose between Kassandra and Alexios in Odyssey. However, Eivor is a female name so it’s supposedly the canonical one. The reason they give for being able to choose the male option is that Odin’s DNA being in Eivor’s bloodline alters the Animus’s view of Eivor.

Thanks, it's been a while since I finished original...perfect catch up that I needed. All should sub. Great work sir.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that, I’m glad that my video could help you out.
Omg this story is so fucking long and convoluted!
I couldn’t even finish this video, no way am I buying the game lol
I am just glad that I didn't even try playing this game.
I feel this game is deliberately wasting my time after about 100 hours of gameplay so I',m done... thanks for this abridged story
You’re welcome! Yup, this game is way too long
Great video, pretty detailed and there arent many other Valhalla story summary videos out on youtube, but allow me to offer some constructive criticism, I suggest you practice reading at a slightly faster pace, I watched the whole video at 2x playback speed just to get the dialogue at a normal pace.
This game sucked but I needed to know the story so that I can better understand Mirage. This was the perfect video for that! Thanks!
You’re welcome! Glad I was able to help with that! 😄
@@thebaranesen I see i was debating on whether I should play far cry 6 or origins (since I have heard it has a pretty good feedback) I guess I will look more into them
It may be worth noting that Origins should be much cheaper than Far Cry 6, but anyway I hope you enjoy the game, whichever choice you make
You, my friend, need a red bull
Noted 🤣
Weeellll let's say randvi didn't get gently let down we tossed. But I also never finished the game soooo. Good videos though thanks!!!
Damn. I started this hand shot 6 times. I can’t finish it. The story is so boring. This recap confirms it.
"horse miss steps" *literally gets hit in the leg with an axe*
Wicked vid boss
Thanks mate
*Whats the original video from? with Eivor's narration?*
No offence but I think that wasn't the apple of Eden but the crystal Connor (AC3) uses to foresee events of the future. And thanks for making this video by the way.
Thank you for the correction, I believe you’re right about it being a crystal ball. Nevertheless, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😄
nah cus i’ve played this game for a full year- and i’ve only played… 4 minutes of the story line 💀
😂😂😂
playback speed > 1.25
Question in Vinland did you buy a weapon or just use fist only
Great video mate
Thanks, glad you liked it
Thanks for the summary! I am very glad I stopped at the 30 hour mark. This story is way too far fetched. What a chore.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I completely agree, took me 70 hours to finish the whole thing, too many unnecessary but compulsory plot threads that has nothing to do with the main story. You just saved yourself 40 hours of your life by not finishing the game!
i am really hoping they could diverge to a new modern times settings
How modern are you thinking? Like the times when they enter the animus, do you think it should be set then?
@@thebaranesen like 1990's or like 2010's settings or into whatever watch dogs year is set in
@Quasar.iLLumia that would be interesting if they do it in one game but I’m not sure if I’d like it for all the future games because I like the whole historical aspect.
@@Quasarii Bro that would just be like hitman
Just wanted to say that I like the pacing and tone of your voice. Inflections are perfect.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that 😄
Odyssey was the better game 😩😣
Even though I have my criticisms of Odyssey, I think I agree tbh
I played the game until the Ubba & Ivar quest line started. To that point the only enjoyable part was A: the intro and B: the fight against Kjötvi. The rest of the time this game was so boring and one sided. Simply didn't catch me in any way. Now that I know the whole story I'm glad that I didn't continue playing.
1/10 for valhalla. Thanks for your summary
You’re welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed the video even though you think the game was sub-par (which I agree with).
One year later and I finished the game. I had to see by myself if it’s really that bad. In conclusion:
Story takes forever and I enjoyed 4/16 alliance chapters. Ending was alright
There are some mercenary’s I need to take care of in odyssey
I like the game but it had some problems like it took a long time to finish but I liked it 8.5/10
Fair enough! I personally think it was repetitive, too long, the stealth was weak and far too much of the compulsory missions (different cities to visit) could have been side missions. It was just done to pad out the game. Personally I would go with a 6.5/10.
after 30 minutes, where was assassins creed part?!!
Is AC like it was before AC3?
I feel I can't keep up.
So this game explains how the templars are made
Yes, it shows the origin of the templars
I thought that was origins
@Johnny Kass Hanna as far as I remember origins showed how the assassins/hidden ones came to be and what came before the templars. There was an organisation before the templars called order of the ancients, this here (Valhalla) is how the order of the ancients became the templars as we know them today
I fell into sleep twice.
It's so weird hearing you refer to Eivor as a she since I've been playing as a guy.
The name definitely would make more sense if it was a guy
same
@@Theonlysaneperson Eivor is a female name
@@Theonlysaneperson Bro Eivor is a female name 🙄
My decisions were all contrary to yours 😂
That’s the beauty of these types of games 😂
I think a good way to tell a viking story is one of realism. They should have had him/her or them be captured by ottoman pirates to be sold as a slaves and thus from there the MC become introduced to the assassins. There are Norse or Scandinavian peoples being taken as slaves. Men worked but Christians women were often sold because Islam did permit muslims to be slaves or something. Also wealthy Christians or should I say politically Christians, because there nothing Christians about dealing with slavers. Would by Christians slave women for wives and so because laws forbidding Christians and muslims having relationships of marital or sexual nature. I could be wrong of some details.
this is awesome insight thank you
@@jaharahmuhammad244 theres a channel called "voices of the past" I believe.
@@jaharahmuhammad244 ruclips.net/video/M2EJChRdxL0/видео.html this is the video of this one story
Great job! Helps
I’m glad I can be of help 😄
Good Video
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
Is this all of it or there is more ?
Thank god i did not bother to finish it
Assassins creed stories are becoming insanely long and boring, kind of like a 5 hour movie. Sure, it gets everything right, just so long and tedious to watch, you almost forget the entire thing or give up. Idk if anyone shared the same sentiment, I’m definitely not finishing 😅
100 hours. Finally finished. This game sucks.
Short but sweet, straight to the point and well summarised. I agree to be honest.
So wait wtf happens to Basim
Story only gets interesting after 28:57 😂
You didn’t really play the game if you don’t call him Hemminger Jarl
I think male Eivor is much more fitting for the story.
Why do you say that, I honestly don’t think there’s a difference.
@@thebaranesen I just think that Odin being reincarnated as male Eivor makes more sense.
@@RL12778 that’s a fair point. Although, I just googled the name ‘Eivor’, and interestingly it says that it is a female only name, which seems to suggest that female Eivor is cannon.
1.5x also works great
I did mine a lot different. Good video tho
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
without any of the bullshit filler the story is almost good lol
But the filler is like 80% of the story 😂
I see NO assassins creed story or theme in this.
Why do i think ali g is voicing this video
Eivor is a guy no? Or is this another "We'll give you Alexios so you stop bitching but the real protagonist is Kassandra" situation?
Eivor can be male/female just like how you can choose between Kassandra and Alexios in Odyssey. However, Eivor is a female name so it’s supposedly the canonical one. The reason they give for being able to choose the male option is that Odin’s DNA being in Eivor’s bloodline alters the Animus’s view of Eivor.
So the king thought the 'order' was too crazy.. And then made the templars that we know from the other games? 🤔
