I got one of these with my X-E2 back around 2014. Since then I've switched cameras to the X-T30 and then X-T3 but the lens hasn't gone anywhere. Last week I brought it on a week long vacation and although I brought a couple of other lenses, I never ended up reaching for them. Didn't need them!
This lense was one of the reasons why i got my XT4 last year and im really happy with it. I might buy one with another zoom range, but so far im really happy
Credible post, convincing arguments, humorous “apple orange /pineapple” bit and lens stored without front or rear caps on a shelf. You do use lens caps, don’t you?😊
Very funny video 😂. I've just bought the X-E2s (yes in 2023!) as want to move back to Fuji away from my Sony system. I got the 18-55mm but sent it back as I wasn't sure it was for me compared to the Sony's kit lens 28-70 which I'd bought recently as a lighter alternative to my other heavy Sony lens. However, after reviewing the shots from the Fuji vs the Sony I was really surprised and opted to have the seller return it to me immediately, and sold I ended up selling the Sony. Sadly, I just can't lug the Sony gear around all the time anymore - it just drains my desire to shoot or 'freedom' for creativity, so it looks like I might be transitioning across to a Fuji as my everyday camera system and I've also now bought the 27mm pancake. I'll likely upgrade the camera itself at some point, these two lenses are likely to say in my system as long as I own the camera.
really really love the lighting in your video! and really good video...i just ordered an xt 30 mark 2 with a 18-55 kit lense...im glad i spent a bit more money to not get it with the 15-45...2.8f sounds sooo much better then 3.5
@@StarBattle08 ngl, I like how kit lenses usually do the job and are very compact, but they are nothing special. This kit lense is so good it doesn't even feel like a kitlense, absolutely love it and I am sure you will too!
Bang on. This is a brilliant lens and, in fact, i try not to call it a 'kit' lens as that puts it in the same bracket as the awful Canikon 18-55s. The Fuji is in a different league to those and never lets me down. Subscribed!
Quick question. The ocean shots with the surfers. Why does it look so blocky? Does it have to do with the bitrate compression in youtube or is this raw footage (edited)?
I got this lense with the X-T1 coming from a nikon this the Sigma 18-35. Love it. I had to get the 14mm as 18 ist simply not enough for landscaping and architecture. Wich i could have both in one like the new Nikon
Great video! I was looking into this lens, and at the local store I went to, they had the 18-45, and I am sad that I didn't get this one. The power zoom of the 18-45 is meh, but I love how small the profile is. But I am upset that I didn't grab this one instead!
I can always grab the 18-55 mm and it’s always surprising how dynamic this lens is. It makes you free to go out for a citytrip with just one lens and make pictures without thinking about changing lenses. Love it!

Agree fully. I almost never use it, but this weekend I did. Sharp as hell, really.
I bought my XT-30 3 years ago that included this kit lens. This is the only lens that I have for all my usage. Thanks for the video!

I actually own the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-F4 for my Nikon D5500. It absolutely brilliant. It has replaced my Nikon 18-55mm

Thank you for the video, I'm thinking of buying this lens instead of expensive prime lenses for simple portrait shots and for my niece's wedding.
I purchased this lens with the XE-2 when it was released and still use it to this day. It’s great on my X-Pro3
The strategy of the "cripple hammer" is behind the marketing of the kit lens. They force you to upgrade to other lens. Not Fuji of course.
Can you please explain what's that?
@@Akagami753I think it's a term coined by a very popular youtube channel calledn Camera Conspiracies

Recently picked this lens up with an XT4. Got a steal for this lens at $280
I use this on my xt-3 98% of the time. It is a great lens. I bought it with the camera and saved money.
I'm still using it so much!
Nice and cool video! I recently got this and it's my favorite for my X-T2.

Totally agree with you it's a great kit lens I got with my x-t3. I do own a couple of prime lenses but this is a great walk around and travel lens.
This lens is awesome✌Great video. Great channel. Keep it going 🙂
Thanks!
Thanks man, very good video, super quality
Thank you!!
Am lentila asta si o folosesc pe video si foto...excelentă lentila

Bear in mind this one is 400$ more than the 18-45. For 400$ u can get 2-3 really great used third party prime lenses.
Great video!!!! Very useful. Thanks a lot.
Thank you for the nice comment :)
That shelf tho
Love it!

Best kit lens in the market
Awesome..i have this lens ❤
which mist filter did u use?
i bought used xe2s & xf18-55mm for 350 $ only 🙃
Wow amazing deal!
Value for your money 😊
Exactly!
Good
Yes, it's not a kit lens. It's one of the lenses in the Fuji lineup.
1:34 nooooo
I own this lens and after 5 years I still do not understand why people adore this lens.
It is sharp as hell and so portable.
its an XF lense not a "kit" lens.
I'll report myself to the camera police
@GertjanVanVooren What he means is the phrase "kit lens" has a bad connotation. The 18-55 is one of Fujifilm's XF range.

This is the worst lens I have ever used!
How so? I'm quite happy with it!
