This is an older video but I finally wanted to comment, I really love your videos! People have been trying to teach me to crochet for years and I just never got it but watching your videos have finally made me get it ♡♡ also I like that you repeat things that are probably super tedious and obvious to crochet gurus like 'yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over pull through 2' because even when I'm not watching the video I can hear your voice like a gentle reminder when I'm doing the stitches and I really love that it makes the patterns easy to remember
Wow....just gorgeous! I always loved the idea of hexagon grannies, but I don't like uneven edges on my blankets, just a personal thing, but then you beautifully straightened the outer borders and this will be an upcoming project for me! Thank you!
I adore this pattern! I was gifted some beautiful yarn for Christmas and was wondering what to do with it. Now I know. You're so easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your talent. 🥰
Great pattern, one of the best blanket patterns, for sure. Took me a while, had watched other patterns and found the talk over confusing being in old English, so glad this is clearer. Thanks.
Hi Robin, just wanted you to know that I love your teaching style and it is very easy to follow your videos, thanks for sharing your knowledge and love of crochet. I can't wait to finish this blanket😊❤
Beautiful blankets, thank you so much for showing this, beautiful cat too x Amazing tutorial and fantastic camera work, i will be trying this as soon as i have finished my project.
Hello Robin this blanket is Gorgeous 😁 & so is your Cat! Ha ha! 😋 I have just started crocheting a scrap blanket doubled stranded with multi coloured yarn & black 😋 I might have to scrap that now & do this blanket instead! 💕 😋 Love it 💜 so striking with different colours & black 😁 Erica x
Love your videos and I also love that you hold the crochet needle & yarn like I do, before I found your videos I thought I was holding it incorrectly, but I just can't hold the yarn like others do. Nice to know I am not alone in the way I crochet :)
So glad I found this. I have some yarn , I do not know why I purchased it, in the first place. Had it for 5 years, still do not like it, but it will look good as a blanket. I love your result . Off to the nether regions to find it, it was banished. Thank you so much I hate waste
Ok so I had to go back and rewatch each step and of them with you. I have been crocheting all my life and don't think I have ever done the 2times DC. Like iinn the 2nd row. I just made a sample hexagon with 1 color. Will make more in the 2 tone.
Just bought the yarn to do this project! The multi color against the black - very inspiring! I'll be using Red Heart neon stripes and black yarn! Gotta look up that border pattern - so sweet! 😊👍🏻Thanks
heyyyyy! i saw you video some years ago, and finally got to crocheting my own hexagon blanket (for my first baby), my hubby says i should make more of these 🤷♀️😅😅😅 anw thanks so much, great pattern 🥰🥰🥰
If you chose to start with a [chain-6, slip stitch to first chain to form a ring], crochet over the tail. This will allow you to pull on the tail and cinch the center closed after completing the first round. 😸😺
Love that blanket so much I'm going to have a go, but I'm sitting here giggling cos you didn't want to work with the black wool in case we couldn't see, and then you worked with white wool on a white background lol 😂 now that's what I call Irish lol 😂 still giggling xx
@@HookedbyRobin you're welcome 💖 I'm working on a bee blanket at the moment but as soon as I am finished this, I'll definitely be trying my hand at this beauty! Amanda Therien that's next on my to-do list! I am going to do a tutorial for the half hexagons to make the edges straight and then one to show how they are joined (I used join as you go so I'll show that method for people who don't like sewing!) Xx Hopefully they will be up by next week 😄

Hello again, I'm addicted to doing this tutorial. So much so, I am ordering the Rainbow yarn so i can make a copy of your blanket, please can you tell me, what black yarn did you use, was it chunky?
Jerzey Girl Crafts Maribeth oooh good question! My blanket is only lap sized as I was using up scraps so I haven't made a full size afghan - each hexagon was about 4" wide so I tend to work out a rough guestimation from there depending on the final size I want the finished product to be x (not much help am I? LOL) 🙈
Jerzey Girl Crafts Maribeth oh no wait, sorry I misread your question - my lap blanket is 46 full hexagons and 6 half hexi's BUT it is a little on the small side so I'd advise doing maybe 60 full hexi's( and 8 halves) would give a better size?
Loved the blanket and your video. Especially the bit with your cat. However, would have preferred it, if you had been using UK terminology for the stitches
