    FAQs??
    -How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
    This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
    Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How much yarn do I need?
    Unfortunately, I will not be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.
    -What equipment do you use?
    Camera: amzn.to/2jkNDl2

    Ohhh my goodness this helped so much. I'd consider myself an intermediate level in crochet, but lat night I was making hexagons for the first time, and mine kept waving up, and the blocking wasn't helping much. I kept double checking I was doing enough stitches and couldn't figure out my issue. I didn't think to chain one between clusters!!! Thank you so much! Your tutorials taught me to crochet a year ago, and they're still teaching me new things today😅

    I've just started crocheting and have followed this tutorial - thanks so much. When I come to join them up I will watch it again as I found that part a little bit confusing. Did I miss something or do you not include any chain stitches in between clusters when you are doing the joining to another hexagon. You have been a God-send to me as I find the pause in between so helpful.

    I found a pattern for a xmas stocking in Woman's weekly knitting and crochet magazine (dec 2014 issue),which uses hexagon granny squares and i am really struggling to read the pattern! But your video makes it look so easy! But the one i found seems to double crochet a border, which is what is confusing me as my hexagon is all curly! 😒

    Hi Sarah-Jayne. Love the new video. Thank you. I have a question about yarn. I noticed you use Stylecraft Special DK. Do you use it because you truly love the yarn? The reason I ask is because I am having a hard time finding yarn that I love and I thought I'd buy some Stylecraft Special DK to try out (because you seen to love it and there are so many colors). Since I am a beginner crocheter, I wonder if you would recommend this yarn for a beginner. Also, is it very soft? I have found that I don't like working with very soft yarn. And finally, are some yarns for knitting only and others for both knitting and crocheting? Thanks!!

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  9 лет назад

      christine james Hello, Yes, I just love stylecraft Special Dk mainly because of the colours and its very inexpensive. I wouldn't exactly describe it as very soft. I would recommend it for beginners. Yarn makes no difference whether you are knitting with it of crocheting x

    Sarah Jane is it best to stitch the pieces together in the order you have in this video? Or can you put them in rows or doesn't it work that way? (Geometry isn't my best suit!). Love listening to your voice as I try to keep up and I LOVE the way you pronounce 'cluster' 👍🏻

    hey bella, im using this pattern to make a blanket for a friend for christmas, but ive run into this weird setback.
    ive gotten to the fifth row of hexigons but now I have one sitting wrong. so when I look at the pattern all the hexigons form rows in a diagonal pattern which is consistant throughout the blanket. BUT, I have this one spot where two of them sit in straight on top.of each other. pulled the offending hex out. then I was left with this weird gap. then I counted how many I had in each row from one edge to the other and found they have the right amount of hex's and in each row from side to side, including row 5 that has the weird gap. I cant figure out how to fix it or even what I did to cause it.
    any thoughts?

    • @palmerhusky
      @palmerhusky 8 лет назад

      never mind. I figured it out. there was one hex that I made wrong. on the first round I made 7 trebled ingress of six. I must have been exhausted at the time, bit I figured it out and fixed it!

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  10 месяцев назад +1

      I'm glad you like it 😊 Make sure you're working all of your chain spaces correctly - if you skip them or don't chain the correct amount then it can cause your hexagon to curl. Blocking also works wonders at getting crochet to lay flat; just stretch it and pin it out for a while.

      +Kalynn Gill Perhaps your tension is a little tight? Usually they straighten out once joined though x

      I would double check that you are using the correct hook size for your yarn 😊 You may also need to block your hexagons once you have finished them by stretching them out and pinning them into shape.

    I'm trying to make a hexagon but it just keeps turning into a star.

      You can see the written instructions with some helpful pictures for this pattern here: www.sarahjaynefragola.com/2015/04/hexagon-granny-pattern.html to double check that you're working the hexagon correctly. You should find that the hexagon begins to look more defined as you add more rounds 😊

      @@bellacococrochet thanks, it just seems to pull in where the single cluster is. I'll have to give it another go another time because I frogged it and I'm making something else with the yarn.
