I agree with you about battery bikes. It gives people the opportunity and enjoyment to do something they weren’t able to do because of health issues or age. Your right about cyclers not giving the right away or not letting you know that they’re passing. On a gravel trail you can hear them, but not on a paved trail. Having a bell on your bike to let everyone know your passing is a nice thing to use, especially when your coming up on a walker that can’t see you. For a new you tuber your doing well! Thanks

We did the Katy Trail in 2022, we were going from east to west on our way from NC to SD. So we got off in Boone and continued on the Lewis & Clark trail. Anyway enjoying your video brings back good memories, it was my wife and I.

@@TheBane1979 Yea that was my second kinda cross country. Was going to do a North Carolina to Phoenix AZ this year but fell and messed up some ribs. So that went on hold. But we are retired so that helps ;). But at 71 am slowing down a bit.
I love your outlook on the E bikes. I picked up two Aventon Aventure 2 bikes about six months ago, along with my buddy. We haven't been outdoors this much in years. And we are getting great exercise as well.

@@TheBane1979 Problem is with ebike...you see these lard buttts with a cig hanging out their mouth zipping along on a walking/bicycle trail 15mph not peddling at all....Im ok with the old or disabled using them for sure....but it's no accomplishment to buzz around on an electric scooter...
In 2023 I rode the Katy trip you did. A good trail, a good time. RE Coopers Landing. It can get crowded and NOISY, often having bands. I’m an old fart….so not for me. I just rode by and slept in the gazebo at Hartsburg. I enjoyed your video, safe travels to you. Bob
Great series. You really did your homework and knew most of the spots along the way. It’s a nice trail to just get out and ride. Wish there were more accommodations too. Would definitely like to hear more about your bike setup and supplies. Thanks for sharing!
You are correct… the towns along the route are missing out on some great tourist dollars. I was very disappointed in the lack of food and water, restaurants, and places to stay. Then, there are really awesome towns that go above and beyond for the cyclists. I have yet to ride the entire trail. I have ridden from Kansas City to St Charles and back to Sedalia… 500 miles. Been one other time for a short 4 day trip. This year. A buddy and I are parking at KC, taking the train to St Louis, ridding to St Charles to the trail and then back to KC.
Amtrak has bike service on the Missouri River Runner from St. louis to KC and points along the KT Trail. Glad youre wearing a helmet but you might thinks about safety glasses. It takes only one bug or piece of dirt to blind you. Thanks, Bane.
hey dude, glad you mentioned it about coopers landing. i will not be staying there. Especially with no showers, and i am not gonna spend 30 bucks on some campground with no amenities!! Lets talk about butt butter, i don't think it stops you from hurting in da butt, it helps from getting saddle sores !! i don't use a brooks saddle, i use a nice gel saddle , and i use biking shorts!!

When I camped at Cooper's Landing there was a food truck there, and someone had a pizza delivered from somewhere. But it still sucked to pay $32 for a tent space and no showers. Great video again, keep making more
@@TheBane1979 In the morning everyone there was told to GTFO because the entire place had been reserved for a wedding that day. I won't be stopping there on this year's trip, and I recommend planning your stops to avoid overnighting here :/

That’s awesome! The Greenbrier has plenty of places to hang, I’m finding that isn’t always the case! I’m working on finding a way to set up on the ground in places where I can’t hang. Still working on it

@@dominicschaeffer909 I agree, lumping a whole class of people together is silly. I have more issues with people walking than I do e-bikes. We just gotta be mindful of others and practice good trail etiquette even if others don’t!
Many hate ebikes because of the crap we have seen.....these idiots should not be allowed on bike trails....but for a 66 year old guy...I have no problem with that..
When i ride my trails, and dont see very many people out, I get a little disinterested. I like to see humans when i ride. The rail trails can be boring at times. Keep the videos coming Bane.

Quality content for sure !! I've heard alot of the amenities are closing or just doing weekends . Catering to weekenders !There is a couple places along the trail you can call and they will fix you meals and bring it to you. ( $$$$) im glad ya road my home state and yes im 60 and own a E bike LOL Glad your not a hater 😂 planning on doing the trail in sections outlet to outlet . Keep it up great videos!!!
I have no idea what’s wrong with people. A bike is a bike! If they’re not damaging the trail then there really isn’t any issue. I’m glad you’re able to use one and still get out and ride! You can bet, when I’m no longer able to do it unassisted I’ll definitely look towards an electric bike!

@@PapaBuffalo-716 a lot of people seem to put out the pretty picture and avoid the rough side of things, I try to be pretty up front.
It’s a nice place to stop and sit by the river, but $30 without food and showers is insane. I stayed there in 2022… won’t be back for that price.
