Mile 264 to 163, This is part one.
I'd like to toss out the entire video but I'm having issues getting my videos to render, so I'll be uploading in sections.
I drove to St Charles the night before my trip started. Slept in my car in the parking lot at the Bike Stop Cafe, which is who I was getting the shuttle ride from.
On the first day I got shuttled from St Charles to Clinton MO, Mile 264 on the Katy Trail.
The shuttle ride was around four hours, 8am to noon.
Day 1, Shuttle ride and biked from mile 264 to 227, Clinton to Sedalia. I was gonna camp at the State fair grounds but couldn't find where the camping area was so I camped at the Katy Park.
Day 2, Mile 227 to mile 163. I camped at Coopers but wouln't recommend it. Theres no shower or food available and they charged $38. They told me $30 but i was billed 38.
The Katy Trail State Park is a state park in the U.S. state of Missouri that contains the Katy Trail, the country's longest continuous recreational rail trail. It runs 240 miles, largely along the northern bank of the Missouri River, in the right-of-way of the former Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad.

A great video! A very good job of getting interesting shots! I enjoy seeing the KATY again. I joined a group ride put on by the MO DNR 2 different years, and enjoyed it very much. It was a well supported ride with camping, SAG transportation, and breakfast and Dinner and a hot shower truck provided over the 5 day ride. I think we had about 300 riders total in the group. The camping was in different towns each year, so it made it more interesting. This was about 15-17 years ago, and now that I am retired I hope that I can do it one more time before I get to old to do the ride.

@@arnoldgrubbs2005 my thought process is that we get too old when we stop doing it. Unless you get injured and just can’t, keep at it! @@TheBane1979 Yes, I think you are right about keeping at it! The KATY was fun, riding and camping with 1 or 2 friends from back home, along with the rest of the group made it very enjoyable. It was HOT the 1st year I was with the group, at night it only got down to the mid 80's, and was happy that I picked up a small battery powered fan for use at night in my tent. Since the SAG trucks (Support and Gear) carried our camping stuff from camp to camp, the extra weight didn't matter, and made for better sleep! - - Life got busy about the last 3-4 years on either side of my retirement from work, but as things simmer down now, I still have a few bikes that look at me from the storage shed and I can hear them calling me to go ride!

I ride the area between Rocheport and Cooper's Landing all the time.
