    • @intifadayuri
      @intifadayuri 4 года назад +46

      DeVaughn Taylor well, usually good directors didn't tell the actor an exact action for the scene. What they do is giving them the pieces to build the character and now that the actor knows well his character he can think: "hey, maybe I should say x instead of y". That could change the whole charecter from what it was at the start when the director or the writer made them

      I think it's definitely an afterlife punishment, specially when he's still alive at the end. Plus not being able to approach the light. No matter the interpretation, this movie is incredible and an absolute must for movie lovers.

    • @Karin_Allen
      @Karin_Allen 4 года назад +10

      There are so many different ways to interpret the story, and I don't think we're supposed to settle for just one. I think Eggers and his co-writers layered it on purpose. So yeah, hell is definitely one interpretation, especially since Ephraim/Thomas refuses to repent for (or even acknowledge) killing his last coworker.
