This set up is with a stock ECU with 7psi of boost very basic and easy to do with great gains of at least twice the hp

Really nice video, i have a Land Cruiser prado J90 with this engine and i want to know how is the fuel consumption ratio affected by the turbo, could be possibly an improvement?

Natural air pressure is 14.7 psi. So adding 7 psi will increase the air by a little less than 50%. Power increase is at most 60% considering the increased volumetric efficiency
Boost is a measurement of restriction to flow. A 3076 will flow a lot more than a 14 or 16g
thats true. i made that comment a while ago and im more knowledgeble now but the logic behind that comment is generally true.
i have a turbo k20 with a gt3071 at 9 psi making 420whp. most others make 380ish with bigger turbos at 13+psi because their piping has 4x the bends mine does

Will you still get the thermal syphone effect with your water lines hooked up there? I'm sure it pushes plenty of water when the engine is running but from my understanding a big pro of water cooled is having the ability for coolant to still flow while the engine is off do to a thermal syphone effect. I T'd mine into the heater core and don't necessarily like the look of it, great heat in the winter though!
The water feed and return can still flow fine on cool down of the engine the water feed for the oil housing comes from the thermostat bypass thus proving a constant flow of coolant / water it's tidy and less complicated

Any tips on how I could get a similar setup for my 1994 t100? Only has 84,000 miles. I need to work out some kinks with injectors or something since it’s idling funny so I figured I might as well crack it open and do something cool.
The concept is the same low psi , rising rate fuel reg and colder plugs
Any chance of a full parts list, is a inter cooler necessary for a everyday driver around the horse power that car is making now?

I'm unaware on e36 with a stock ECU setup you would be making around 200hp
was you recording this in a mirror?? around 30 mins mark the tag and turbo are in opposite sides.. I was like wtf something is weird..

I would highly recommend doing rods and pistons when boosting a 2trfe. That's if you want to start getting above 250hp
Im not sure if the 3rz has the hose that runs from the iac to the stock intake pipe like the 2rz. But my question is where did you guys plum that house from the iac on the turbo set up?

They choke up over 10psi mate these engines love to breathe with a 45 or 50mm gate with make boost easy to control

Hello .. what max boost will a stock unopen Toyota 3rz motor handle with 750cc on pump fuel without charging pistons , rods and head gasket
Lots of variables… generally the head gasket will go first, then rods. Stock head gaskets and bolts generally won’t go much over 250hp. Rods not much over 350. This is all dependent on turbo size, so boost is relative.

What blow off valve ? Or not running one ? Iv got a 2rz. Maf before the turbo with no blow off and it immediately dies after coming off throttle. I was thinking that with no bov the maf is reading the air come back out of the turbo from the flutter making it die ?? How can I solve this ?, simple as a bov ?
That will be the idle control Valve under the throttle body take it apart. Clean it and check that it works if not may have to be replaced
@@TunaRacing this only happens with the charge pipes on . With them off it runs fine with no problems.. the icv could still be the problem ?

I would be looking at going down in diff ratios is where you will make the most gains

Thanks mate👍 Yeah no shit I had to cut a little section out the lower rad support today just to get my bonnet latch to fit on😂I tryd the 500x300x100 but it’s too thick for my grill I’m swapping it for the 450x300x76.so when you cut the airfilter maf off the original air filter housing did you just cut it close to the mesh inside? And didn’t use the mesh? Thanks heaps

Hello i am from Pakistan, can u please guide me how much boost can take on stock 3rz?
This is a topic of great debate I have seen them blow up at 18psi some at 26psi the answer is unknown
From what I've heard (don't take my word for it), the bottom end can take 40 psi, the block of the engine can take around 18-20psi, the top end can take 15psi, the injectors can take 5-8psi, and the stock ECU can take around 10psi (American Tacoma 3rz)

As for stock engines I wouldn't go above 15psi seen to many pop at around 18-20psi
I heard the 2rz can handle more boost then the 3rz in stock form

So, I have a question regarding the computing. I have a 99' tacoma (USA), I've seen videos of people boosting them on stock ECU but being limited to like 5psi, so in other words less than 200whp. How do you go about making as much power as 400whp on stock ECU? Is there someone that can tune the stock ECU? Or is it a matter of controlling the system via analog means such as fuel pressure regulator, wastegate spring pressure and a manual boost controller? I'd like to turbocharge my 2RZ in the near future and want to get an understanding of what my options are. I'd like to avoid aftermarket ECU usage as it makes matters MUCH more expensive, and I'm intrigued by your usage of the stock computer.

I watched it through, I am just trying to figure out the tuning solutions for stock ECU setups, how it can be adjusted and what are the limitations. I don't intend to push more than 15psi thru the motor, and will do a headgasket and studs job to accommodate for that
