I've been using Blender for years but before I learned how to use it, I used a simpler modeling software called 'Wings 3D'. On occasions I would often export the OBJ file from Wings and import it into Blender to use there.
I've just found your channel. Great modelling skills and I will follow along with the project. I hope that you have made a stand for the solvent bottle since making this video; we have all knocked over the bottles at some time. I find it hard to believe that this is your first styrene model: you handle it like an expert. Best wishes from the U.K.
@@georgeclements2742 Hey George, what if I told you that I've knocked over 2 bottles of solvents already and I just can't seem to learn 😅😅. And yes, this project is my very first styrene project. As an artist I've learned a lot about styrene as I go and only find myself getting better at it. Thanks for your comment and I wish you all the best in the U.K.
@@Tobe.smallcars Thanks for your reply. I have just re-started work on a styrene model building that I began before the Covid pandemic. I was delayed by caring for my wife who, sadly, died last November. As you said in an earlier video, procrastination is the greatest enemy of progress, and it's one of my greatest flaws. I'm now up to date with your youtube videos, which I have found both informative and entertaining: your character shines through. Best wishes again, and please don't take any time to reply to this message - I appreciate that you answered my earlier one.
@@georgeclements2742 Haha. I'm still gonna reply anyway. I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish for nothing but strength and a peaceful recovery for you and your family as time goes by. I just found your channel👍😎all very good stuff👍😎. It's nice to see more scratchbuilding on yt.👍😎. You have a new sub👍😎. Thanks for showing and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓
It is actually Polystyrene, not PVC. I have a habit of incorrectly calling Polystyrene sheets PVC sheets. Though similar, they are two different materials. Thanks for bringing it up.
Wow very impressive i am a full-time model builder from toledo Ohio been building models for over 45 years i started building big trucks and Construction equipment. Just like you it man you my friend are very good i know how hard that is .are you on Facebook or anything else. Hope to see more videos. Keep up the great work 👍 👏
Thanks for the comment, Vaughn. Always feel free to leave suggestions, tips and any advice you have. I'm always willing to learn, especially from an expert. Thanks for the encouragement.
Congratulations on the job. very good. I would like to see the construction video of the front and rear suspension, and wheels. Amauri Cascapera from Brazil
Thank you Chris. The chassis is aluminum. I actually didn't make any videos of the chassis. When I made the chassis, I didn't even plan to build the truck. I was bored during quarantine and wanted to test my skills with the aluminum lol. I made it with two pieces of 1/2 inch aluminum C channel. I just grinded them down until they looked like chassis legs. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
@@IWONTWICE I accidentally forgot to press the record button when I was making the roof. The few clips I did get, didn't show much and so it didn’t make any sense to use them.

Bobby, thanks for the tip. I have a little bottle of styrene scraps in acetone. Someone told me about it a few years ago and I've been doing it ever since. Thanks again. When you say pattern, do you mean blueprints? I actually make my own. Let me know if you need any more help to make your own, I will gladly offer whatever assistance I can.
True modelling, no kits or upgrades, everything built from scratch, excellent skill👏👍
If you haven't already, YOU NEED TO ENTER CONTESTS!!!! You should have an expose in Finescale Modeler!!!
Absolute amazing. I am building truck models in 1/87 scale with modifications, kitbashing and/or scratch.
I am completely blown away by the attention to detail and engineering that you put into this build. All I can say is awesome!
Total Awesomeness! 😮 😮 😮
I have been trying to make a conventional truck from blender on my 3d printer and it is a pain...I finally found something promising...thank you sir.

Got them hard beats in the background. I let that bass line drop as loud as I can stand
Great work, hummingbird hands! I love this stuff.
Awesome work and appreciate mixed speeds and info of video. Thank you
The Craftsmanship is Top Notch, especially for the 1st time doing something like that! Also, fantastic video....... 🙂👍 WOW, very nice............ 😍
This is a fantastic build.
Nice job
I'm going to make a 1970 Shadow MK1 using this technique, hopefully soon 😁
@@fishbarbeque8540 It should work because those cars don't have too many crazy body lines. All the best with that project.
So great watching you build and seeing how things come together! Excellent work 👍

I agree Peter.

Incredible...detail is amazing....so about how many hours was invested just at this point.?
Lol I have no idea.
Great work, great video! Thanks

Polystyrene. PVC works too.

Thankyou. Well, I didn't make the wheels myself. They came from an Italeri truck kit. Those are the only things I didn't make myself.
Fantastic... love it !!!
Great work. But I can't find a video of the chassis. What do you make it out of?

That's what I've been saying but they just don't listen. Lol.
I humbly appreciate this comment brother. I'm still learning.
You skipped over the most important part of the build. How did you shape the top of the cab?
You should make it Radio Controlled 😁❤️.
Lol nah. I'll save that for other projects.
Un hermoso trabajo 💯👍
Where did you learn how to do this?
Just from experimenting, research and practice
Ya iam so sure that’s what your hands do u r doing it
