    Hi, what is a good proper thickness of styrene to build a 1/48 "O" scale building? I am a first time styrene building maker here. I have the windows and doors already.

    • @TandemCTelevision
      @TandemCTelevision  2 года назад +1

      I'm not overly familiar with building for O scale, but .060 is very common, .040 may be better for such a small scale.

    How strong is the material? I need a light workable material that doesn't flex. A little flex for larger pieces is okay, but it will need to support perhaps up to 10lbs.

    • @TandemCTelevision
      @TandemCTelevision  3 года назад

      You can get it in pretty heavy gauge but even in large sheets it's going to flex. I'm not sure the exact application you're needing it for, I'm thinking 10lbs would be on the top end it could support. Have you thought about a polycarbonate material like Lexan?

    • @_DarkKnight2301_
      @_DarkKnight2301_ 3 года назад

      @@TandemCTelevision I need to make a platform to place several sensors on. Chances are there will be two layers at least. The platform will have to be perhaps 14in long and 10in wide. It'll be going on a rc car that I'll have drive autonomously to collect data.
      I'll have to take a look into the other material you mentioned. Is it easily workable? As in not needing fancy tools to cut it down and easily drill able to put screws through.
      Thanks for the response. Kinda rare that someone responds on a video posted 1yr+ ago.
