- Marisa Hunter is meticulous about keeping her teeth clean. After all, as a model, she has to make sure her pearly whites look perfect for the camera. But while her teeth are spotless, what about her toothbrush? Inside Edition sent Hunter's and her fiance's toothbrushes off to a lab to get tested and see what bacteria and other critters might be lurking in the bristles. So how dirty were those toothbrushes? As it turns out, pretty filthy. #InsideEdition

I change my toothbrush about every 4 months AND regularly pour boiling hot water over the back, front, left and right side of it in between uses to kill any germs on it. I’m battling Cystic Fibrosis and I have to avoid infections at all costs.🇨🇦
For how many minutes? And how do you make sure after the boiling it would not get a bacteria?

They did. They said to let your toothbrush air dry before capping it and to close the lid to your toilet to keep poop particles from flying into the air and contaminating your toothbrush.

They should've mentioned the names of the bacterias present. Because naturally, our mouth has a microbiome of different types of bacteria living in it. I'm guessing the other bacterias weren't mentioned because they normally reside in the oral cavity. However, e.coli shouldn't be there for sure. Just put a toothbrush head on & you guys r good.:)

i change mine once a month
I spray mine with a bleach solution in a spray bottle every time I use it.
Another tip is to clean it after every brushing session with rubbing alcohol. It helps. Rinse it thoroughly.

Most dentists will give you a new toothbrush at every appointment and you're supposed to go every 6 months anyway so that works out well.

Once a week I soak my tooth brush and toothbrush cover in peroxide mixed with water over night. I also change my tooth brush once a month or when it’s time for me to open a new container of tooth paste.
So if I don’t brush my teeth, I would get bad breath

i have no clue what username i should have - just because they’re a news channel doesn’t mean they’re always right. It’s actually safer to replace it every month. Waiting for 3 months until you replace a toothbrush isn’t sanitary at all. Dentists even recommend to replace your toothbrush every month. If you don’t believe me, google it.
