I leveled UH in original Wrath. I mounted and gathered as many mobs as were available and killed them insanely fast. It was OP AF. Corpse explosion ftw.
yes I did the same but we are not going to have that OP unholy blight like we did back then, it was removed that fast back in the day I only managed to hit 75 before they patched it out 🤣🤣🤣
Nice one! One thing to think about though... the number of mobs available when everyone and their mum are leveling at release. A good way to level when things calm down. I will stick with blood when wrath releases. Mostly because I like 100% health after every fight and blood is what i leveled with back in the day. We're gonna have a great time boys and girls! :D
Layering will be so heavy at launch I don't think it will be a problem plus mods dynamically respawn. And you if you have the capacity to get ahead by playing longer than most people and preparing qs to turn in you should be able to get ahead of the pack and then it's smooth sailing.
@@alihorda If I'm not mistaken, blood was always more tanking oriented. However, you needed frost PRESENCE. Spec and presence were different so it was confusing. In cata (or mop) they normalized it so that blood spec would need blood presence and frost spec would need frost presence. Haven't played a dk on wrath at all though so I'm not sure.
DK's should level as whatever the hell they find fun! Don't suck the fun out of your own experience trying to go for what's the best, or what's the easiest. Unless you're the top 1% of the game you can literally play anything, when people say "oh you wont get invited to stuff if you play x spec/class" they're full of it - you absolutely will, because the majority of players don't really give a damn. This is especially true if you're in a guild! This isn't a dig at MetaGoblin btw - merely reminding you that you're allowed to play what you find fun, and that you aren't forced to play what other people want you to play!
still would rec. blood, you can get into dungeons and it does amazing damage and is less gear reliant. You can do the same thing with blood and pull everything. Its also great for group quest soloing.
I remember being a huge Blood spec Stan back in the original. I really enjoyed Unholy as my offspec, but Blood was my main whenever I would do group activities! Being a Blood Tank was something no other classes could recreate in terms of power fantasy! With that said, I'm really thinking into maining Unholy once WotLK Classic comes out! The whole warlock-ish feel to the spec always looks fun as fuck!
@@parkerfrode5101 Blood does fine damage, but glad you follow the youtube videos. Go look at an arp capped shadowmourne blood dk dps. It's just as good as the others. And while leveling you have ZERO downtime and cleave everything down with heart strike, and fill up completely with death strike.
1:11 Vicious Strikes doesnt increase total critical strike, It increase critical strike of PS and SC and that means talent isnt synergy with wandering plague. I agree with unh being best for leveling but I prefer being in unholy pressence for gcd and movement speed.
You don't seem to be considering the fact that you need to get your health back to pull the next pack. That is where blood comes in. You could go blood and get corpse explosion and 20 percent mounted speed and not take the final talents in the blood tree. Combined with being able to solo group quests and tank dungeons I think it is blood for me.
Vicious strikes does not count toward wandering plague, vicious is only for plague and scourge strikes while wandering plague pulls from the crit chance of your melee auto attacks
Great video! Just a bit of feedback, when going through talent builds try hovering over the tooltip a little longer instead of constant back and forth between different talents as it makes it really hard to read the toolitip. Thanks for the great content as always though!
100% disagree. People need to get over the stuff they think they know from private servers. They are not the same and won’t be the same as what we get. Blood is the better spec to level with always was. This has all been done and found out before.
Im gonna level up my DK ina dungeon spam group together with a Holy Paladin, Warlock, Shadow Priest and a Mage, do you guys think this unholy build is working for that kind of dungeon spamming? I thought Unholy would be great for the AoE Curse of Elements, but i also heard that unholy tank wasnt really a thing any more in 3.3.5.... so would it be better for me to go Unholy or should I rather go Frost Tank?
Would this be a good build to go if you were to be doing dungeon aoe spam? Or would the elites snap you if you had large pulls unlike being ranged as a mage/lock?
You could tank a dungeon easily with this build just have some tank gear and put on frost presence. But to do dungeon spamming with big pulls you probably want to go blood. But dung leveling was slow asf on pservers plus you miss out on like 5k gold so I wouldn't recommend it.
Blood is the true tank spec. At the original launch of wrath you could tank as any spec but by 3.3.5 they’d made adjustments that make blood the true tank.
Frost AoE is bursty but dependent on howling blast procs. So if you round up a ton of mobs but don’t get the procs you could be screwed. UH is super consistent. Plus move speed talents and permanent ghoul which helps a lot with any big elites you need to solo.
Play what is fun, all 3 specs are so extremely overturned the zone you chose to level in will make more of a difference in your leveling speed than your spec.
@@Average1212 To be fair, in 3.3.5 DK are less stupidly OP than in 3.0. While you’re right that all 3 are perfectly viable, (compared to trying to level as like a holy priest or something) Unholy has some clear advantages (move speed talent, permanent pet, gargoyle will NUKE elites if you choose to take it for leveling, etc). Blood will never die but UH really won’t either and has faster kill speed. Frost does good damage but UH moves faster and has slightly better survivability / solo elite ability via permanent ghoul. So anyone looking for a “best” option should be aware that UH has some objective advantages.
@@Average1212 which is the MOST valid point I did not include. If you hate UH so much that you literally log off because your tired of playing it then absolutely any other spec is better.
Unholy is the way. I played Unholy on wrath and I still play it to this day in retail. Both aoe and single target damage is solid in wrath. Anyone that says differently doesn’t understand the spec and would rather play a 12121212 rotation spec like blood.
question: why make a youtube video on DKs for wotlk? No one is going to be playing that class. Could you imagine DKs swarming over azeroth like a plague -swarm of locusts? Not me, because that class? nah, doesn't appeal to FOTM Andys. /s ;)

6:55 inscription will come in the prepatch just like jewelcrafting did in tbcc
step 1 blood
step 2 dungeons
step 3 ...
step 4 WINNING
Step one: pick any spec, because all specs are meant to tank
Step two: winning (despite not having lfd from the start which is laughable)
Except if you level as blood you can que as tank which is very nice and outside dungeons you just quest in blood stance.
You can tank as unholy you dingus.
Nice video:) what rotation are you using on the big pull ?
I was just looking for a video like this! Awesome 👏🏼

can we have a video about how to gear up your dk in prepatch?
LOVEEEEEE the Oblivion background music
Great video, are you able to show the macros you use
What about dungeon group leveling? Still unholy or go frost?
Sure UH is better when it comes to handling mobs but I'd rather go Blood to be able to solo elites.
hell yeah dude, i was unkillable back in the day
Anything you can solo in blood can also be soloed in unholy
Can solo ramparts low level shit as blood for crazy exp.
Would be nice to see blood chart next to unholy for comparison
