And with that being the case either Santa does exist and Clark found him, he still exists and Clark hasn't found him yet is still looking, or Santa doesn't live in the northpole in this universe.
It’s my head-canon that one of two things happened with Batman in this episode: 1) He entered the Monitor Room in the Watchtower to begin his watch only to find a pile of gifts left for him by every member of the League in the seat by the monitors. Alternatively, he found a note left by Superman with clues on how to find gifts in various spots in the tower from every member of the League. Batman, while annoyed at first by either gesture, is nonetheless touched by the inherent kindness in his teammates, knowing that they truly value and respect him. 2) Wonder Woman stayed in the tower to keep Batman company and share the burden of monitor duty with him. They have a quiet, intimate Christmas together. Regardless of either scenario, Alfred checks in with Batman to wish him a Merry Christmas and assure him that dinner will be waiting for him when his watch ends. In the second scenario, Bruce invites Diana to join him and the Bat Family for the holiday feast.
if that were true, then I'm betting you batman would ask wonder woman"I see everyone's gift, but I don't see yours yet", and depending on how you want to interpret it, they will have an intimate moment alone in the watch tower
@@SirusCreed I’m sure he does. In other continuities. It’s not clear if he does that in this continuity. And even if he does, it’s said that in this episode he “practically begged for monitor duty.”

I remember a comic where Dark Seid was afraid of one man, a man that is able to get through all of Apokolips's defenses, shrug off any blow, and to stand in front of Dark Seid without fear. This guy is Santa and he always gives Dark Seid coal for Christmas.
@@GameGodZEROHe was certainly pissed. Santa breaches his defenses EVERY YEAR to personally stand before Darkseid, double check his list, give him his well deserved coal, and then leave.
I actually liked that John was uncomfortable to entire time at the bar fight. To me it's telling of how much he likes Hawkgirl, willing to be in situations he doesn't like just to be with her.
I don’t know, that part never really worked for me. John is not just a superhero, he’s also a Marine. Getting into a bar brawl with a battle buddy shouldn’t be throwing him like that.
It's also very possible he met the man. Admittedly the Justice League universe is technically different from the comics universe, but at least in the comics Santa is very real and superman has interacted with him before... Hell, Santa manages to give Darkseid coal every year despite the increasingly absurd level of defenses he keeps every year.

That's the thing about Flash. Superman's got a sort of general kindness and goodness to him, he works on such a scale that it's not unreasonable that everyone gets the same treatment... but Flash, Flash will call you by name, complement your shirt, ask you how your day has been and actually listen. He goes out of his way to make things personal, and I think that's why even his villains love him, and that's something that Superman can't do that he can.
13:55 Just to note. Santa does CANONICALLY Exist, and EVERY CHRISTMAS makes his way to Darkside, through INCREASING security on his home planet. Just to hand him a lump of Coal.
Regarding the ending of the J'onn / Superman / Kent story: The cherry on top is that the Kent family cat, which was at first aggressive and unwelcoming towards J'onn, even in his humanoid form, is now laying on his lap in his Martian form. It just melts my heart to see that, just as J'onn has learned more about Christmas and accepted it, so has the cat accepted him.
I was going to mention that, but you beat me to it. I agree, it took some time for J'onn to warm up to Christmas just as it took time for the cat to warm up to J'onn. But in the end, they both did.
Something I remember about Ultra-Humanite attacking the Museum on Christmas was because he knew it wouldn't have any people there, so no one would be hurt by his rampage.
@@solblackguyprobably because they know the flash doesn't take kindly to that, and what the flash doesn't take kindly too wakes up a few weeks later in a prison infirmary with lots of broken bones

*actually* santa does exist in dc. theres an entire comic where he single handily braves the entire arsenal of Apokolips to give the literal god of evil a lump of coal. ..and its insinuated he does so every year. it is wonderful, and even though its not explicitly canon in the dcau, i can easily see it fitting with the vibe of the verse.
@@oshkeet Yeah, he could literally read or hear what every kid wanted for the holidays, zoom around the earth, sneak in, and leave the gifts for them. Santa is totally realistic to him.
13:40 counterpoint: in a word where superhumans, gods, and aliens exist, a jolly old man that delivers presents to all the world’s children in a single night isn’t much of a stretch, so it would make sense that Superman would still believe in Santa
The flash could act as Santa if he gave up superheroing, he proves it with the orphanage, so yeah who says Santa isn’t just a speedster who has the money to acquire more toys
Fun Fact: For Justice League, only George Newbern (Superman) and Mark Hamill (the Joker) delivered their lines standing up. All the rest of the cast sat down
@@tripelon well i dunno about newb but hamill loved just getting up and gesticulating wildly while he acted. makes sense, he's an oncamera actor first.
I take it like he is at peace with being himself at the Kents farm and is singing the christmas carol in his native tongue, which to simple farm people is not something you would see every day. since you see him in what is essentially his superhero outfit or his noir detective disguise for most of the episode.
I thought it was him being not feeling any prejudice for once in his life. As a Martian that's super rare, especially considering how the Guardians had them locked in an eternal race war until the population of Mars was destroyed.
I always felt the Santa thing was Clark not wanting to break the fantasy of Christmas. He's an adult, he knows Santa isn't real, but while at home during the holidays he likes to keep the childlike aspects to the holidays because it's relaxing.
I could also easily see clark truly believing in santa because compared to a clown gunman, a talking gorilla, and literal satan....santas not the most outlandish thing that could exist.
“I miss when superheroes were good people.” Hot damn do I feel that. All they do these days is snark and scream and plot to kill each other. That’s why I love the DCAU. These cartoons had so many smiles between the drama, and everyone got to be charming and wholesome once in a while.
One of my all time favorite moments is when the Kents tell Martian Manhunter, "Oh we're no strangers to aliens in this house. You just make yourself at home."
I swear Flash was always the best part of the Justice League cartoons. My favorite moment is when he confronts Trickster gently and concerned that he was off his medication. Flash even made a heartwarming promise to visit him and play darts.
What about when they were fighting lex fused with brainiac? Lex is all like “ you want some of this?💪🏼 “ And then flash “runs away” and then WHAM! Flash bitchslaps him till kingdom come!
Fun fact for Humanite I think this was his last appearance in the show so in the end Flash’s words and actions reformed the villain and he never caused crime again and served his sentence. The DC animated universe was and still is the best of DC to truly show how amazing and even human these gods of men and women actually are.
@@MerlinTheCommenter Well that and the Humanite is almost an Anti-Hero. He doesn't cause crimes because he's a sadistic asshole or anything, at most he has a rigid love for culture and art whcih causes him to make very dumb decisions.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 i mean he took a deal with batman to get his own jail cell more cushiony and his own classical music channel. Dude had 1 bill IQ and used it in a way for his own doing (the not typical villain way lol).
The few times we see humanite in the show he is usually the best part. Helps flash with orphans on christmas, gets triple bought out by batman to turn on villians. Dude is so anti villian that you can talk to him and actually convince him to do things differently. I wish they used him more through out but the few times you do see him it's usually gold.
I love that pose Shiera takes after smashing that bruiser's hand. I frequently forget that despite being a hardened Thanagarian soldier, she can still be adorable and "cute". Also? Ultra-Humanite is the MVP villain of this series. He is just… a class act. 💚
I love that he's in his Martian form at the end. It shows that he's completely comfortable and feels like he can be himself, especially since his manhunter form is meant to make people comfortable around him
reminds me of that Blue's Clues episode when they explained christmas is 'a special birthday' Good on ya blue's clues. probably had trouble getting Nick Jr. to allow even that much. that'll do.
So do I, there is way to many anti-hero’s. Yes I get it anti hero’s are more relatable, but if a hero makes the immortal choice 50% of the time they are not really much of a hero. As a concept antiheros we’re interesting until you got to the point where there are more antiheros then heros. Especially Superman he is supposed to stand for “ Truth Justice and the American Way” I always seen Superman as the moral equivalent to Captain American from Marvel or Allmight from my Hero of Academia. But sadly Dc writers hate the character and think evil Superman is more interesting. Especially Frank Miller who even said he hates Superman in an interview.
I always love The Ultra-Humanite episodes. For a character that seems so bland, he just ended up working so well for others to bounce off of. The ending where he gets his favourite TV funded has to be one of the most memorable ending.
@@alessandroortiz379He was like a Proto-Lex Luthor. He had a tendency to jump bodies, but the albino gorilla body is the most well known one and the one we see him in the most.
Who else had tears from listening to Martian's singing the song of his people?😢 Also, this is one of my favorite episodes. There is no real threat going on, just everyone celebrating the holidays in their own ways.
I’m sure it’s because gorilla grodd took over as the smart primate but ultra humanite never returns after this episode so the general consensus is he turned himself around after flash’s message of good will.
You should do the episode about the Flash Museum where Orion is forced to participate by Batman. Its such a great glimpse into who Wally is, and has Orion finally get it towards the end. This is major because Orion, son of Darksied, is always torn between his nature and the upbringing he received from HighFather. Every reminder he gets of why good matters helps reinforce his refusal to be like Darksied.
13:50 I bet it’s more like Superman really enjoys the belief in Santa and what it represents. Even around my family, who are all adults, we still like to speak of Santa as an actual identity. It helps keep the magic and spirit alive
I can sympathize with the scene quite well, I used to hold on to belief in Santa as long as I could. After that the magic was gone and I didn't really enjoy the holiday before adulthood, when Christmas got a whole new meaning as a time for rest and spending time with the family
Yep, my sister (who was 26 at the time) got kinda upset when my parents didn’t put “from Santa” on any of her gifts one year. It’s the tradition and spirit of the thing.
I like to think that diana and bruce had their own moment together. A popular idea i saw was bruce visiting his parents gravestone and Diana shows up to tell him that no one should be alone on christmas. I really like this idea since this show more than any other ships diana and bruce hard
I’ve always loved J’onn’s part in this episode. It’s not said what he likes about Christmas cause it’s hard to describe it. Also I just really love that he sings at the end. Not so much the song itself but the act. I also regularly sing carols and at church during Christmas and it definitely hits somewhere but I can’t say where.
A personal theory, though it is kinda cliché for J'onn, is that it is the togetherness of the season that made him internalize it. His family is typically never too far from his heart, so likely being immersed in a tradition that brings togetherness to the forefront sparked those kinds of memories in him. Plus, at the end of it all, Music truly is the universal language.
The flash from that show never ceases to make you realize how much central city loves him. Even the one where he stops Orion from rocking the tricksters shit and just levels with him loves rent free in my head.
Honestly I never thought of Humanite as a super duper bad guy. Just a thought of him a snob who took it too far. I mean, he quickly betrayed Lex for a donation to his favorite opera, he attacks places that, let's face it, are affronts to true art, and has a gentlemanly set of honor as far as I can tell.
My favorite, FAVORITE part of this episode, is a single line from Clark when he and John are at his family's house. When Clark is telling John about how he comes here to be himself, his dad calls out that he's plugging in the lights, and Clark suddenly gets a panicked look on his face as he runs down the stairs, yelling about how that's supposed to be his job. It gives me so many warm fuzzy emotions, along with a clarity of who Clark Kent is and should be. I firmly believe that Superman is the kind of guy who respects and loves not only his parents so much that he appreciates the small tasks they gave him as a child, but also respects and loves those tasks in their own right because of how special they are in his own eyes. Turning on the lights for the tree is HIS job, and it makes the living room look beautiful. That's the kind of small time stuff I know Clark Kent would appreciate. I'm not saying Superman can never be serious. Matter of fact he's also at his best when he's being mature or sly or confident in his day to day life, whether that be in costume or out of it. But that human nature that gets shown off? I will never be sick of it.
Santa canonically exists in the DC Universe and he's overpowered as shit, every year on Christmas he fights through all of the forces of Apokolips just to personally deliver a piece of coal to Darkseid himself.
14:00 - Santa may not wrap Clark's Christmas presents, but Santa Claus ABSOLUTELY IS a thing in the DC Universe. There is a comic where Santa flies to Apokolips and proceeds to dodge Parademons and many traps - all to deliver a large piece of coal to Darkseid every Christmas. I do love the Flash's and Clark's stories, if only to show a more down-to-earth side of 2 of the most powerful beings in the universe.
100% It is shows like this and other hero shows that DC licensed that make me trust this medium to handle the legacy of supers than their live action departments.
Honestly, this justice league show was amazing. Everything about it, from the characters, the arcs, the art design, the voice actors, every little detail about it was tailored to near perfection. IMO there will never be another justice league show as good as this.
fun fact in the first year of world war it was called the Christmas truce when German English Canadian and French soldiers on the western front stopped shooting and shelling their opponents and began to sing Christmas songs. some other soldiers even got out of the trenches and played a soccer's game in no mans land, in 1914 Christmas was able to compel the soldiers to suspend the carnage and for one day have piece on earth and have good will towards your fellow man
i know this had nothing to do with the video but i love Christmas too and too me this is one of the ultimate Christmas stories cause its real, and i don't think alot of people know it happened and that should change
Forgive me if propaganda has warped my perception of this, but isn't the song "O, Tannenbaum(Oh, Christmas Tree)" the one credited for being recognized, which led to both sides singing in their native tongues, and then history marches as described? I know there was a kids book that described the events like this, but I don't know if that is fact, or just a story and no specific song is credited for the initial cease fire.
@@RotaAbyssian Herschey's Cholocate commercial (unless it was some other chocolate commercial) depicted it as being Silent Night (Stille Nacht). But then again Western Front trenchlines were quite long so it is possible that in different sections of the trenches it was different songs.
I know you said "I miss when superheroes were good people" and honestly, at least with The Batman film, you feel the message at the end where has to be learn to be a good person. It was a great part of the film, I think.
I loved how Flash's subplot was literally the plot of Jingle All the Way with the Ultra Humanite coming in out of left field to deliver a surprisingly touching moment of character development.
That's one of those things that I really loved about Justice League's flash. When you work on a scale as big as Superman's, it's easy to forgive him for being a little impersonal... and yet thanks to the flash we know the names of so many background extras, because flash knows them. The fact that you see him at a big crowd shot and he's calling people by name, asking how their day has been, complementing their shirt... Superman is a protector, Flash is a helpful neighbor, and I think that's brilliant.
I THINK the other “thanagarian” is actually a reference to the hawkmen from from Flash Gordon since he’s got metal looking wings, barbarian like clothes and the helmet also looks like what they wore in the movie.
“That’s why I like coming home for the holidays, I get to just relax and be myself”, this is why Superman is great. He doesn’t see himself as Superman, he sees himself as Clark
This was always my favorite episode to show my ideal Superman. He's always at his best when the whole strongest being in the world thing is kind of irrelevant, and you see the kind of person he really is.
This and THE Big O's Daemonseed are some of my favorite Christmas specials in animation. ngl. Lex Luthor saying, "Do you know the real meaning of Heaven's day? It's the day God's son was born." at the end of the episode gets me everytime, especially because theology is so heavily woven into and throughout the story without being heavy handed.
I viewed Manhunter turning into his true form as him reminiscing of his people. While saddened by their absence, he knows he is not alone and with people that love and appreciate him.
I remember this one, Martian Manhunter spending Christmas with the Kent Family was the highlight for me especially given J’onn’s history 😭😭😭 Thanks for the new video Shady, have a Merry Christmas and go hug your animal friends all 💙🐱💙
Oh I love this episode, probably my favorite story in it is Jon aka Martian Manhunter spending Christmas with the Kents showing a more relaxed and for lack of a better word Human side to him...also establishing he likes Oreos. Also love the Flash and Humannite segment reminding us that Flash truly is the heart of the team, going out of his way to help kids while also showing empathy to the Humanite. The Green Lantern and Hawkgirl segment was kind of weak and frankly I wish we could've gotten something with Bruce and Diana. Seriously, I would've paid the equivalent of Scrooges bank account to see them on some kind of Christmas date.
@jayquickblade5002 According to BtAS he does NOT spend it next to a fire watching Its A Wonderful Life while drinking cocoa. Although Dick does talk him into it by the end of the episode. 😁
Reason that the GLHG segment was weak was because GLHG was a low point of the series to begin with because of how showhorned in it felt. Hell, they even had to kill off Vixen just so John would go back to Hawkgirl in the end.
@@Ability-King-KK my problem was it didn't even really show them in a relationship. It was some "will they won't they", they fucked, then immediately after the Thanagar invasion happened to break them up and bring it back to "will they won't they". We got more moments of heroes being in a relationship from Question amd Huntress for gods sake with his awkward flirting and her pushing him out of his shell a bit.
So, Christmas with the Joker next? After that "This Christmas will be without batman." I need it. The entire reason I got into voice acting was Kevin Conroy's performance in Batman The Animated Series.
I love how each member of the team has different layers to their identity. Superman is a secret identity. Mr. Kent, Pulitzer reporter is a secret identity. But Clark Kent, the farm boy, that’s his real self. Wally and Flash are the same person. Hood up or down: he’s him.
"your company is all the gift we need" ~THIS... I've been having some real hard times and the other day I thought back to something I heard while with a significant other who is no longer "here" anymore... "WHAT GREAT MEN HAVE IS ALWAYS FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS" ...our time is the greatest gift we can give, and for us to give it to others, to their benefit... is truly a blessed gift.
Man I think I should give this show the chance I never did when I was younger. Thought it was boring at the time, but now it's genuinely entertaining with maturation.
One of my most favorite Justice League and Christmas specials ever. This episode really made me love Superman and his family, along with MMM and the Flash in the more humanly and wholesome way. The Kents are such a loving and caring family that makes me miss seeing just a simple family in superhero related thing, Flash is the like the best Santa for the DCAU that makes my heart melt, and oh, the way Green Lantern and Hawkgirl at the snow planet and the bar is way too fun and cute than I remembered. Out of the three plots, the Superman and Martian Manhunter had always stuck with me.
"The comic relief character was the heart of the team" This is true, considering with Flash's death, the Justice League went rogue and became the Justice Lords.
13:58 You're goddamn right about that. When I was young and saw this episode, I always assumed that with all the crazy magic, time travel, extradimensional shit that went on, Clark had himself convinced that a guy who could deliver presents to every child on earth and still live completely undetected was a possibility, and perhaps that the idea of running into Santa one day may be a deep seated motivator on why he built his fortress of solitude there.
That was an incredibly lovely Christmas video. I really love the way they approached the morals, values, and traditions, and as always, Superman's "Lead by example" is one of my favorite values.
This is one my favorite episodes of Justice League pretty much for the same reasons you mentioned. One of my favorite scenes you lightly touched on was the one where J'onn is outside the church listening to the first verse of the Christmas hymn "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear." It is beautiful to hear and I wish that more series would be willing to pay subtle tribute to reason Christmas is celebrated: the birth of Jesus.
This is what the ULDRADARK stuff forgets. Lots of cartoons like this are lauded for their dark moments, but they only mattered because they stuck out and were well used. If it wasn't for the heroes feeling like actual people with likable personalities none of it would matter, angst is easy, making a character sad is easy, but actual character development is not. I barely remember the show because it's been a while and I have memory issues, but THAT scene, THAT scene is one I remember fondly. And I still remember the whole show fondly to, even if the memory monster has eaten a lot of the specifics. Also, I love that you're giving the Justice League cartoon some attention. I don't see much commentary on it but I hope to see more.
Man, the first time I saw J'onn singing brought me to tears. It's probably one of the most beautiful moments I've seen in animation. This special will always have a place in my heart.
Great video Shady! This is actually one of my favorite Justice League episodes, and I think my favorite joke is the, oh we are no stranger to aliens in this house, one. I miss when shows were written intelligently
Someone noticed that after this episode, Ultra Humanite never appears again, which makes me think that Flash made him permanently a better person. I adore that idea
Honestly I think it is the best Christmas specials than most Christmas specials. Where the stories tells you that Christmas should be good and all of that, here they show it and let each superhero express it in a different way. Even with the bar scene. Green Lantern experience something that Hawkgirl enjoys same with Hawkgirl experiencing Green Lantern enjoyment. Id say it is the weakest one but still holds meaning as they are uncomfortable but yet they enjoy the others company regardless. I think that is more real. Like some people may not seeing others family because makes them uncomfortable yet goes and try to enjoy themselves to be with the other. At least that's what I got from it. Now I will have to say that my favorite is Superman and John. That is when onions are cut when seeing that John can be himself
12:28 humanite was a great choice, because anyone who knows anything about how humans advance, taking care of their children is one of humanities most important evolutionary traits.
These were nice scenes with the league as most superhero shows can't have the adult heroes be casual or act childish without it being thier Entire storyline. Flash in the dcau is probably the best made flash in history with how he treats his enemies and shows as much compassion as batman and superman when the need arises. Do wish we got a batman part but the writers had to hold back making every episode batman based as he's their best and the best
Whenever he says “we had one just like it when…” I almost cry, just the shared love for memories of such nostalgic times no matter what holidays you celebrate
9:03 Wow that's a blink and you'll miss it moment... I didn't notice that Thanagarian until this video... Surprised John missed that guy in the crowd though.

13:55 Just to note. Santa does CANONICALLY Exist, and EVERY CHRISTMAS makes his way to Darkside, through INCREASING security on his home planet. Just to hand him a lump of Coal.
Not also mention batman trained under him and krampus
Regarding the ending of the J'onn / Superman / Kent story:
The cherry on top is that the Kent family cat, which was at first aggressive and unwelcoming towards J'onn, even in his humanoid form, is now laying on his lap in his Martian form.

Fairness, from Clark's perspective a lot of the things Santa can supposedly do aren't out of the realm of possibility.
I love that Santa is a baine of Darkseid that he has to prepare for each year
@@oshkeet Yeah, he could literally read or hear what every kid wanted for the holidays, zoom around the earth, sneak in, and leave the gifts for them. Santa is totally realistic to him.

What issue is that? I’ve gotta track it down for my collection.
13:40 counterpoint: in a word where superhumans, gods, and aliens exist, a jolly old man that delivers presents to all the world’s children in a single night isn’t much of a stretch, so it would make sense that Superman would still believe in Santa
Especially since Santa is actually in the DC universe, although maybe not in the dcau
Yep
The flash could act as Santa if he gave up superheroing, he proves it with the orphanage, so yeah who says Santa isn’t just a speedster who has the money to acquire more toys
Not gonna lie that I choked up at your realization this will be our first Christmas without Batman. RIP Kevin Conroy

Seeing J'onn singing mournfully in his Martian tongue at the end, in his natural form always sticks to me
I don't think he's singing mournfully, more reverently if anything.
He's an adult, he knows Santa isn't real, but while at home during the holidays he likes to keep the childlike aspects to the holidays because it's relaxing.
santa is real in the d.c. universe
Santa brings Darksied coal each year through increasing levels of security. To the point where I think it takes him the entire day just to do it.

“I miss when superheroes were good people.” Hot damn do I feel that. All they do these days is snark and scream and plot to kill each other. That’s why I love the DCAU. These cartoons had so many smiles between the drama, and everyone got to be charming and wholesome once in a while.
4:10. The moment that every Batman fan teared up instantly watching this. God bless you Kevin and RIP.
Hell he was able to quell the angry wrathful Wonder woman when toy man seemingly killed Superman
Flash moments were the best and that one is a personal favorite of mine.

Fun fact for Humanite I think this was his last appearance in the show so in the end Flash’s words and actions reformed the villain and he never caused crime again and served his sentence.
The DC animated universe was and still is the best of DC to truly show how amazing and even human these gods of men and women actually are.

I love that he's in his Martian form at the end. It shows that he's completely comfortable and feels like he can be himself, especially since his manhunter form is meant to make people comfortable around him

Good on ya blue's clues. probably had trouble getting Nick Jr. to allow even that much. that'll do.
Agree heck a johnny Bravo Christmas special ( I believe in the final season) had Susie openly talking about Jesus. I was blown away
I miss superheroes being good people too instead of making us try and relate or sympathize to villains.
I don't mind grey or dark characters, but modern writers keep trying to turn everyone into them.
Agree it's lazy, insanely nihilistic writing.
I'm ready for superheroes to be the ones to challenge the status quo instead of the villains being the ones who do that
"But we want it to be realistic"
And they think good and wholesome people aren't realistic? Like the saying goes 'A thieve thinks everyone steals'

My family still does a Santa Present every year despite all of us being adults.
"A snob who took it too far" is a perfect description of Humanite, honestly.
"betrayed Lex Luthor for a donation to his favorite opera?" I hope Montserrat Caballe was performing.
Gotta admit, that bit with the flash, supervillain and the aluminum tree almost made me tear up….
God do I miss shows like these….
This is shockingly nice. I knew the animated series had good writing but this really takes the cake.
Justice League was a character driven show. It put the character's values and interactions with each other on the forefront.

I loved how Flash's subplot was literally the plot of Jingle All the Way with the Ultra Humanite coming in out of left field to deliver a surprisingly touching moment of character development.
Flash is such a nice guys even Humanite almost caught himself opening to him about his childhood while talking about the gift Flash gave him.
Huh...you know that's not a bad observation! It does sort of fit for that back then.

I remember this one, Martian Manhunter spending Christmas with the Kent Family was the highlight for me especially given J’onn’s history 😭😭😭

Seriously, I would've paid the equivalent of Scrooges bank account to see them on some kind of Christmas date.
he gotta be careful around those oreos though. in the comics they interact with martian biology similar to an addictive drug lol
Honestly? I just wanna see how Batman celebrates Christmas

10:09 I just realized the writers of The Flash did this in Season 4 at Barry’s bachelor party lmao
This episode proves WHY superman is the best superhero and HOW he became the best super hero
"The comic relief character was the heart of the team"
This is true, considering with Flash's death, the Justice League went rogue and became the Justice Lords.
I showed this to my roommate and he fell in love with the episode and will supposedly watch it yearly for Christmas
9:28 Yo that plumber is drinking on the job!!
The Flash portion of this episode was my favorite when I was a kid, but J'ohn petting Streaky while singing hits me differently these days.
This episode was the calm before the storm!
Also the biggest giveaway for Hawkgirl!
I love this episode. Especially the part about Flash & Ultrahumanite.
Great video Shady! This is actually one of my favorite Justice League episodes, and I think my favorite joke is the, oh we are no stranger to aliens in this house, one. I miss when shows were written intelligently
BROOOO! That intro of the characters at 2:13. "We got your person of color. We got illegal aliens." YOOO YOOOOOOOOO
Someone noticed that after this episode, Ultra Humanite never appears again, which makes me think that Flash made him permanently a better person. I adore that idea
By far my fave EP of the series. It was nice seeing the justice league just chill out
Also yup now whenever I watch Justice Leavue I'm reminded Kevin Conroy isn't with us anymore and.....it hurts alot
Love the story with Jonn and the Kents. Not only really wholesome but encapsulates the feelings Christmas brings is beautiful
9:39, maybe that alien was just swearing
If memory serves, this episode was the last appearance of Ultra Humanite in the show.
So, you can headcannon that he reformed.
Whenever he says “we had one just like it when…” I almost cry, just the shared love for memories of such nostalgic times no matter what holidays you celebrate
