Your thinking reminds me of my eldest brother (RIP). He was always on the lookout for the simplest, practical solutions to little annoyances. If something laying around the house could fix something else, it got used; maybe in combination with some other item added to make it work. Wish you weren't so far south and over the mountains from me. I would really like to be in one of your classes. Hope they are going well.
i feel so ditto on this ... i would love to know more about my bernina 780 that was unexpectedly gifted to me . . . the local shop is very, very busy and i have not had a chance to spend time with them on basics, like winding the bobbin, threading the machine, tips to help me get, basically, started seriously sewing . . . the bernina i've used for years in a 1230 and i love it still! anyway, i'm a visual learner and would love to be shown how to do these basics . . .
Love this idea!!! I've always hated those stickers things they seem to put on everything & there hard to get off!! What as great idea!! Even with the spools of thread sticky!! Love your scraper idea too! I'm going to order some. Thanks Jeff!
I have a Bernina 570 and while I’m trying to embroidery a empty bobbin and thread wrapped around the bobbin case keeps coming up on the screen and machine stops. Sure wish that if we touched on the question mark it would tell you maybe what the problem could be. Thanks for any help I appreciate all your tutorials. Pat from the Adirondacks NY
Are you putting the drop of oil on the top of the race hook "instead" of putting it on inside when the bobbin case is removed? I have a 570 and all my instructions do not specify this.
@@berninajeff Awesome!!! I just had a German retailer ship me 2 bottles of machine oil. Cheaper in price and shipping. I know lots of U.S. shops won't ship to Canada. Wish the Mobile Spindle Oil came in much smaller batches. I won't live long enough to use up a full size LOL.
Yes you can use magnets on your Bernina machines if they have plastic covers. They are protected from magnetic fields so if your throat plate will attach a magnet use it.
Yes it is the exact oil that comes with your machine just in a much better dispenser there are two weights the red cap for the hook area and yellow cap for moving metal parts and classic machines.
I was on a tour of national parks last week and we ate lunch in grand junction, I was within 2 miles of your store and couldn’t convince the tour director to take the bus by “for a couple minutes”!!
Those bus drivers, we were on a tour and got a bus to stop for wine tasting and cheese. Two hour stop but we had a consensus or riot if he didn’t stop. .
Lots of good tips -another Vera
Glad you think so!
I love watching your videos….very gratifying….thank you Jeff!

Hi Jeff! Is the red-cap oil also for the Q-series? Thanks for all your helpful info!
Yes the red cap is perfect for the Q hook.
Why no tips for 880?
Test from jeff

This is a new approved method that I feel is easier than removing the hook race every time. I really works well.

Can you use a magnetic side on a Bernina

@@berninajeff i always wondered about that ... yes, do it ... NO, DO NOT DO IT ... i consider your word the bottom line, so thanks ...
Is that oil the same as the one that Bernina recommends?
Yes it is the exact oil that comes with your machine just in a much better dispenser there are two weights the red cap for the hook area and yellow cap for moving metal parts and classic machines.
I’m sure it doesn’t need to be said, just a wee bit of oil and remember those cleaning pads ARE abrasive, so go easy.
Jeff, stop posting these great idea because I have to keep buying things. Lol
What? I gave two these guys to scrap my cast iron pans. 😀
Can you ever over oil your machine. QE 570
Yes too much oil will mess up the thread cutter. If you open up the black race cover and there is oil build up there you are using too much cut back
Thank you so much!
Can you talk about over oiling in a video? What does it look like, and how do you know?
