My mom had the Bernina store in Grand Junction in the late 70's and early 80's. Broke her heart to give it up during the great depression of Mesa county. Naturally her machine was a 930 and it is now mine (she passed in 2016)

Jeff! Where have you been all my Bernina 770 life!! The first year I had this machine I thought I made a mistake. I'm in to year three now and it's getting better. Putting the bobbin case back after oiling has been the MOST frustrating experience. I'm eager to try the cradle method. And my threader episodes have also been annoying. I have GLADLY hit Subscribe so I can continue my sewing projects with confidence that miner machine issues won't make me pull the rest of my hair out!! Hugs and kisses you sweet man!!

3 years ago I inherited a 730 record (1970) which had not been used since 1996. I put it on the table, switched it on and it just worked. I then oiled it and turned a hairdryer on it to melt the old oil. It has not stopped working since. Periodically I strip out the bobbin area and apply a hogshair brush to remove any accumulated fluff and I oil under the lid on the main shaft. It just keeps going. Thank you for the hints on cleaning the bobbin area. I didn't know about the lining up the hook. I have always just used touch. I have found off set tweezers near where I live but yours look wonderful. I love my Berninas. They just keep on working!

omg!!!! I thought I had a crazy thread lost in my machine due to a thread catcher cleaning issue and my screen wasn't responding. All I could think of was the hefty service charge I was going to have to pay or the expensive paper weight I owned. I must have taken the screen off line and needed to recalibrate. Holding down the needle left and right while rebooting fixed my issue!!! Thanks so much Jeff. I can't believe that worked. This video taught me so much about the inner workings of my machine. I wish when I bought it I had watched this video first.

Jeff, I know this is an old video, so I am not sure whether you will read it. But (!)… I MUST send you a thousand thanks for all your tips and work. I watched your video regarding oiling the different kinds of the Berninas as I had the one which was difficult to oil. You saved my life ( or at least many hours to drive to the mechanist). I am now the owner of a 740 and are watching all your videos. Of course I subscribed as you are brilliant in explaining even the smallest details of these machines. A really great job for what I cannot thank you enough. As soon as this pandemic is over and we can travel again to the states I will be happy to buy your oil and some other parts your are recommending. I hope you are doing fine. Take care and accept my deepest thanks. ( and…, please excuse any mistakes in my writing, I am not a native English speaker). Whish you many more subscribers! Your videos are worth it! I really like the way you showed how to put the bobbin in the race. Now it's not a 50/50 chance I get the race in. It goes in all the time the first time. Love the fact can oil the race from the top!! I do alot of quilting. Didn't like hearing about the knobs wearing out but I like using the touch screen anyway best.

My Bernina 570 QE has a knocking sound in the top area somewhere when dialing for straight stitch higher than 2.50. I use 3.50-4.00 for a gathering stitch. That is the only time it makes this knocking sound. The dealer worked on it but it's still there. Someone online mentioned it could be the "stepping motor" which the dealer said they had checked. I purchased this machine in May of 2021. Thank you for any feedback.
