    As a fan of this series AND of birds, thank you for blessing us with both. Dark green and violet is such an interesting pairing I've never considered, what a gorgeous take you had on it!

    Hullo Denise, I so enjoy watching your videos and I am so thankful you have better Patreons than me. I had to give up on all of my Patreon payments after my hospitalization and retirement. I still follow you and others hoping that one day I can make it back, who knows maybe that buyer is just sitting out there looking for someone to buy up their stock of paintings! HA! I remember to stop and let paint dry by going over a spiel I used when teaching classes in watercolors. Planning out your painting is so important with watercolors. This medium is not as forgiving as others, yet it can be the most spontaneous medium of all! It just depends on what your trying to achieve. I have dozens of paintings planned and several are already on paper! I am most excited about a Studio Ghibli frame from Spirited Away. It is from the window of the train when Chihiro and No face are going to the sister witches house and we see the lonely house on the water. That is what I ma going for next! I just love the dynamic sky with so many colors and in fact the purple from your painting just might be in there if not pure, in a mix! Well I see I have yet again not been able to just say "Wonderful painting Denise, Thanks for sharing!" but I do hope your doing well and we all can see your painting is still top form, even if you do not feel it yet, we see it just fine! Stay safe and be well.

    Hullo, Just a quick note if your looking for paint recommendations from Denise, just go to DaVinci paints of California and purchase one of her curated sets or take the names down and see what you might already have in your watercolor drawer! I was able to put together her wildlife palette from my DaVinci tube collection and only had to buy the real Cerulean Blue Genuine to complete it! Quality paints at a reasonable price!

    It always surprises me how useful greens can be in mixes. This was amazing! I love the dark blues/blacks and violets that you got here! I own neither of these colors, so the mixes were very interesting to see. And the pigeon is so cute! Great video, as always!
    By the way, I noticed that you are consistently working in the Etchr Signature Series sketchbook for your limited color palette series. I got their hot pressed version from 2021 earlier this year as a gift, and noticed a big difference between painting on the front and back sides of the paper. I love working on the front side, but I find the back side a lot more difficult to work with. How is the cold pressed version? Are you noticing a difference at all?

    • @InLiquidColor
      @InLiquidColor  2 месяца назад +1

      I haven't noticed a huge difference so far on the cold pressed paper, but I am always swatching on the backside and mostly painting on the front, so it's possible I'm missing something.
      I'm not super familiar with Fabriano Artistco paper, which to my knowledge is what is in these. But I'll look for it next time I film. My biggest issue so far with it has been how off white they are! It's been very difficult to color balance 😅

    • @WingedJedi
      @WingedJedi 2 месяца назад

      @@InLiquidColor Ah, that is interesting to hear! I guess it's possible the cold pressed paper acts different, or that the paper also changed a bit since the 2021 version that I have. In my sketchbook, the back side is also not consistently in the same spot, and sometimes both the left page and the right page of a spread will both be back sides.
      I don't mind the off white paper, but I'm also not color swatching (much) in this sketchbook, unlike you. I look forward to your next part of the limited palette series.

    But in this video you said something about Shadow Violet from Roman Szmal- does that mean you use the watercolour paints sometimes? Or maybe, you have found a way to get around this drying problems? 😅
