Every time I watch one of these oldies and look at the lineup, those St. Louis teams had some good players on the team. Better than what their record indicated. Of course, it was great listening to Jack Buck.
I was at this game. Sat in the end zone where the game ended. In all of my Cardinal gear and didn't care. Got beer poured on me on my way out. I took it as a badge of honor. This marked the last time I would see the St. Louis Cardinals live(I saw them earlier in the year in STL when they beat the Bucs in what is still the largest 4th quarter comeback in history). They would move to the desert for the following season.
I think I remember watching this game when I was in college. I remember a friend saying that Buddy Ryan was kind of dismissive of the Cardinals calling them like "nice little football team".
The hc who never won a playoff game despite 3 straight appearances. From 88-90 playoffs they averaged 8.3 pts/game over those 3 losses. And Cunningham wouldn't win 1 till 1993. He was a decent QB, but only had that 1 MVP season when he reunited w/Chris Carter for the Vikings.
He Rarely shook hands...Great Defensive Mind, but horrible head coach...These Goofy Philly fans here still praise him like he won sumthin..0-3 playoff record..
Eagles fans don't love him because of the success he had (or lack of). They love him because of his image and personality. He is my favorite Eagles head coach since I started liking them when Vermeil was their coach, and almost every coach they had since then was more successful

Losing 2 of 3 strike games didn't help.
Lomax had a hell of an arm

7:08 Facemask on Cunningham.

Strangely, he belittled the Cardinals the season before after getting beat by them 13-10 in St. Louis.
Buddy Ryan had something negative to say about every team the Eagles played
@@StLouisFootballCardinals don't forget the horrible 10-10 tie that season as well.

Love those Gridbirds
Did Buddy Ryan shake hands?
He ran to the locker room as soon as the game ended.

He never shook hands as far as I know. Great defensive coach for the Bears, but he was a sore loser when he lossed
Back in the day. Cards . lol Cardiac Cards. 😁
They weren't the Cardiac Cards that season.
@Rockhound6165 1977... Yes' but over years Cardnials still remained Cardiac Cards.
Neil Lomax lol.. I remember that bum!!
Jack Buck is the play by play guy. Who is the other announcer? It sounds a little like Will McDonough but I don't think he was an announcer.
I’m pretty sure it is McDonough
@@doublek321 McDonough
Man Randall Cunningham was a horrible quarterback
