Even though I think I am an INTP I find your content very valuable, as you seem to give very good detailed descriptions of the functions and especially the ones you use, which in turn help me understand if I use those functions or not.

Very interesting take! I’m with you on not relating to the guy who’d watch the movies so he can make recommendations to people. Give me a few weeks and I’d probably not even remember details about the movie, only whether or not I enjoyed it, which might not be super helpful to the customer 😆 On the other hand, I’m not adverse to receiving recommendations. While I do like to explore and discover things on my own, who knows when a recommendation might open up your horizon to an amazing experience you might never have found yourself? 😊 -a fellow ISFP

I ask people i like spending time with a lot about their tastes and likes, or things they want to try etc so I can find movies and tv shows that we can watch together or go out and have a succesful cinema-dinner-cafe experience etc in a new restaurant or cafe etc. Or to get ideas abot day trips, travel that we can do together. Or even so I can buy gifts for them or surprise my girlfriend etc
So my closest people’s opinion (friends and family)like or dislikes about things is very important for this. But strangers I dont care about. Or whatever is popular or trendy and whatever I usually want to almost do the opposite or at least something in opposition to that…I also expect their tastes to change with time a bit…so I keep updated on this info to avoid the relationships from going stale. I do too. But I see that as completely different. If I am going to spend time with someone, of course I will want to know their preferences. But I am talking about finding things I like for myself. Such as a movie I will be watching alone.

@@myisfpjourney7813 Ah. Got ya. Yes then I agree with you 100%. I usually do not even take recommandations for music to listen to or a show to watch even from my closest. I like it best when I find it myself. It feels like there is some extra spice to it then :)
Sometimes I will look at reviews from a reviwer I like or Imdb score for something and «try» something out based on that…but in such moments I really try to separate wehter I like it or not based on my own feelings and not based on what I heard others say or not. Or their expertise or experience with it.
Top video! It got me thinking!

If you ask to know whether a lot of people like a movie in order to find out if generally people like it, then it does not mean you automatically agree with that. You can unfortunately not always know is movie is good before waching it, so it can be a timesaver to ask others what they thought. It does not mean you value their opinion so much as it can give some perspective of the likelyhood of you liking it as well, as all humans are different but not that different usually.. If 9 out of 10 people like a movie, then the chances might be higher that you like it too than if 9 out of 10 hate it.
If you actually like something just because other peope like it, then that's another story (that would maybe be a more clear Fe example). Howeve,r I think though that Fe people like their own things too, but are aware of what is generally liked and respected or not. However, I do not think they internally like these things too. My girlfriend is Fe dominant and she knows what the concensus is on most value based things, but while she is aware about all these things, these are not her own personal opinions too.

One trick to determine if someone's an Fi hero person is to look at how they communicate. Do they use "I" statements alot? If so you may be talking to someone who is Fi hero such as an ISFP or INFP.
