Hopefully this illustrates why we shouldn't race dynos guy's. There is so much more to it than a peak number. 🙂 If you have seen my previous dyno video, you will know what I'm talking about 😅.
117 at 417whp adds up to me. I trapped 131 with 417whp but at a lighter weight....and with a ls.
That's an awesome number mate. Gotta be stoked with that.
I'm definitely happy with how the car is progressing 🙂
Great vids mate, good to see the NA V8s still doing so well.
Thanks mate! surprisingly well yes.
Always better to have under performed on the dyno and over performed where it counts. Like everybody else, I've seen some dyno Queens.👍
I'm definitely a fan of low numbers, people are more likely to race me on camera if they think they are going to win 😉
Maaaaan what a weapon....what sizing is that short exhaust???
I got bored during covid disconnected exhaust just before the Y goes to single 🤣🤣🤣3inches of fury wrny for a drive got to 4k rpm set off car alarms 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The power out of the mods you have seems minimal but the times and trap speed etc. seem exceptional. Loving the content 👍
Cheers for stopping by mate! Yeah the peak numbers and overlay from a stock curve look very different and even if you remove the numbers from the graph, much broader curve.
7400 redline ... Wow , that's impressive alright 👍💯🔥
It's been 8000 a few times, usually shift at 7600 🙂
@@GapSauceRUclips I must say., Your chilled approach to it all is refreshing and confess across as inclusive to all , be it in a standard car or a worked beast 👍😁
@@MrKrueger88 Thanks mate, I don't believe there should be a rift between top level guys and those who are starting out. Everyone is learning and the moment we think we know it all is the moment we fall behind.
I'm a changing world, we all need to support each other and we might as well work together 🙂
Really appreciate the feedback, and thanks for watching 😎
So impressed with how this thing performs. If only I knew how that Saturday would go haha
If only 🤣 thats next week's video haha
@@GapSauceRUclips just add to the range of your channel
Those are very respectable numbers for a Boss 290, and I swear she just gets better and better sounding. Loving the vids mate.
Thanks Ben! Hopewell I can pull a few more ponies out of here with the new motor 🙂
@@GapSauceRUclips are you raising the compression, or porting the heads with the new build?
@@benjaminhoffmann5452 Yep, I'll cover the whole thing in a build series as it happens 🙂
Awesome! Can't wait for the reveal!
Best sounding GT
Cheers Joe!
The Commodore at the end sounds the business. Very slick.
Yeah its a monster, roughly 900whp, there's a few vids of it on the channel too 🙂
Best I’ve seen an Na 350ci class V8 done ! Most I’ve seen before that was 380 ish .
They are bad for on 330cubes, especially being stock heads and bottom end. There are a few guys that have made more power on the dyno but haven't gone quicker at the strip 🙂
Gap sauce No cap! Keep them coming bro chur
Yeah buddy! Cheers Curtis!
Great video as always! All your videos are educational. I’ve learnt a lot from you!
Just a question .
What clutch do you have in your car?
Hi mate, thanks for watching. I try to work something into each video, hopefully a few people learned to use drag calculators this time 🙂
This clutch is an NPC coppermix organic single plate, I really rate it.
Nice numbers my guy.
Thanks mate!
Car kicks ass simple as that. Stock bottom with a few mods, very good results.
Cheers Mark 🙂 for a basic setup it's not a bad number.
@@GapSauceRUclips The power you made here is consistent with others I know that run the same cams. Plus or minus a few kw it makes sense.
What RPM limit would you suggest for boss 260 stock cams. Some say under 6000rpm some say 7000rpm. There isn't a lot of information out there for the Ford V8's.
Hi Adam, they seem to make peak power a touch under 6000, I'd set the limiter to 6300-6400 and shift around 6000. The reason I lift the limiter is to avoid hitting it, for longevity more than anything. I'd be happy to spin a stock bottom end 260 to 6700 if the limiter wasn't going to be bashed, but you will need cams to make power up there.
I spun my stock 290 to 7200, although it made the same power at 7200 as it did and 6300. I was careful not to clip the limiter too often and it survived alot of racing and continues to with it 7700 limiter now.
At the end of the day, depending on what the car is used for will change the way I tune it. If it's a drag car seeing high rpm for short periods, I would lift the limit, bit for endurance or circuit racing, sustained 5000fps piston speed is going to end badly. From memory that's about 7000-7200rpm for a 5.4.
This thing makes me want to sell my f6 and get a gt . Loving the content mate and great to finally meet you at all Ford day 💪
Cheers mate! Nice to meet you too!
I knew it’ll be over 400rwhp
417 is a good number be it doesn’t reflect the performance of the car
Witch shows us how important a good driver and over all set up is.. fuck yeah bro 👌👌
I agree, peak numbers don't tell the whole tale. Thanks for watching Chris!
Haha I like my luck, walk through the door and DYNO time 😂😂
Yeah buddy!
Great video mate - can't wait for the next one! Keep 'em coming brother! Russ & Shawn
Thanks! Will do guys!
I've personally never bothered with dynos for numbers other then tuning, running smaller cams in an auto with hi stall and 4.1,and boltons ran 390bhp at the wheels, street tyres full weight, ran 12.4@114mph, 1.960ft. Plenty for the street. 😉
What's next Blake full rebuild ported heads.... 👀
That's very decent, especially the mph! Definitely a better street car than mine!
Yeah, ported head and more cubes/compression. She's 170,xxxkm now, getting on.
Hey Blake what exhaust system are you running? I had some herrod extractors that I was gonna put on my xr8 that my old man got when he bought his enforcer but I didn’t want to drop the k frame just for them. I’m thinking of running a twin 2.5 inch merged stainless with 2 Magnaflow boxes and 2 50 cell cats.
Hi mate,
It's hurricane stepped 4into1 headers, custom twin 3inch. X pipe.
You dint need to drop the k-frame, you can jack the engine off the mounts but it is a lot of work.
Thats really healthy for a 10:1 5.4 4v, gotta rev these small engines to the moon haha
Yeah, she definitely does like to rev. I wasn't really screaming it and it was still moving well which is nice.
hahaha When you said "put the enkei's on the back", i had to stop and think whether you were talking about the RPF1s or the factory FPV rims (also enkei)
I actually didn't know that one, I guess I swapped to the smaller, lighter Enkei's! haha
I was expecting 330 rwkw for 11 sec runs and 118 mph.
So I'm guessing, something is not right for her to start missing, so the next dyno run should show better power which will match the 11sec runs.
Great to see that weapon doing so well, cheers.
Yeah, lots of factors influence the numbers, and maybe it wasn't running 100% at that point but at the end of the day, it top ends other cars that have made 330kw+ in the past. I'm really not fussed, I'd prefer it be lower and surprise the people who race me haha
@@GapSauceRUclips keep doing what you are, great viewing and most informative and there is a hell of a lot of us, that love the B 😊
Hey man, noticed the shirt and got me wondering... do you sell merch or were they just custom prints you had done?
Hi mate, they were just one off print's but if you wonderful people want to rep my channel then I'll get some made up, I have a Gap Sauce mask too 😁
417 hell ponies is a decent figure, 30 more than mine 😎🤙
Yeah its definitely healthy for a 170,000km motor 🙂
@@GapSauceRUclips yeh totally.

Trap speed is the only true dyno
Absolutely!
Yeeeeeeweeeeaaaaaaaah boi. Trap money cams bitches money. Lol
Ripper vid bro. If it didn't nose over my rwkw guess prob would of been close.
Yeah it was odd, it usually holds flat to the limiter but as I said in the video it sitll went 117mph again so the power was all there later in the day 🙂 10years ago that would have been quite impressive for the mods
@@GapSauceRUclips hell yeah mate. Might be a coil.. i had one dump but only noticed it at hi revs. Once i replaced all coils and plugs it was a big pick up in power.
Can I ask, this car gets driven hard and put on dynos and sent down drag strips so often, what kind of oil do you run in the 5.4?
Yeah, she's seen her fair share of work and often at 7000rpm+
I've been running Castrol edge 5w-30 or 0w-30 both with LiquidMoly friction reducer.
Main bearings looked impressively good for the KM and the abuse it has seen.
I think the key is not beating on it before its warm(obviously) and keeping an eye on the oil temps.
This is Awesome 💪😎👍
Sure it’s a little more
Excellent woo hooo 🚀
Cheers Daniel. Even if it was running well, I'd be happy. It performs onnthe strip strip that's what counts for me 🙂
@@GapSauceRUclips yep totally agree👍
Ok I get 521 fwhp and 416.8 rwhp with a 20% loss through the the drive train . So sounds about right . In the ball park .
Sounds about right to me mate 🙂
Did you have your water/meth spray activated on dyno?
Trap speed dyno is king. Can't fudge it...
I didn't, it was already running pig rich so I just left it off.
4180 pound car doing 117mph equals around 515hp at the flywheel.. so, that’s about right..
Pretty close I'd say 🙂
383
I still think 310kw an over I think o said 315 to 325 kw last time
Close enough! It picked up 10rwhp between the first and second run.. perhaps a 3rd would have made more again, who knows!
Is it duel 3 inch or duel 2.5
Twin 3inch pipes off the headers, that's it.
