I have a Dec 2015 XR8 in Kinetic Blue, stock standard auto and with less than 17000 on the clock .
It is my first ever v8 and I'm 68 years old.
I regularly watch your videos and really appreciate your love for our Falcons.
I've owned Falcons and Ford products since continually since 1986. The most enjoyable vehicle I've ever owned /really loved was a 2008 FG XR6 in Se t
rayback ute that was full LPG, a sensation blue utevery impressed with the vehicle, but there's no way I would like to drive it in wet weather conditions.

Great review Ross, as an owner of an identical FGX XR8 as this one, ive been waiting for you to do a review although mine is more or less stock compared to this beast. They are such an understated car, no FPV Badge but are the exact same spec as the GT R-spec, with a blacked out interior, and an aggressive front end that looks fresher than ever.

I agree, I have the fgx turbo and when I bought it new I was happy that ford went with the all black interior, the light coloured head liner of previous models never matched anything

@@RossReviewsau you're one lucky man to be in the drivers seat to experience the magic of a great combo. I really like this car just from this video I can see the effort and thought put into it. The FGX front is the best since the XA or XY unsure, still, nice modern car indeed.
Should have tried the 0-100 with the launch control/2 Step that you can only use with the traction control ON. You put your foot on the brake, hold the clutch in & stab the push the accelerator 100% with your heel or toe of your right foot while holding th brake pedal. So now that you are pushing all three pedals at the sane time with the traction on, the car will rev not rev 4000RPM (it will bounce from 3500-4000RPM). Drop the clutch & let go of the brake & hold the throttle flat & wait to hear a tripple beep from the dash that goes off 250rpm from when its the perfect time to change into second or any gear💯‼ I got about 5 seconds flat in my XR8 Sprint with the factory 265mm Pirelli 19x9 imch rims & factory tune back the🎯‼
What a great car, Ross. Sure is fast and a great looking car. I’ve always liked the FGX. I own a 2015 XR6 NA in the same colour but I’d love to get a FGX V8 just for the sound. Keep the great reviews coming. I’m really enjoying them.

Brilliant,Wezza represent. Great roads to drive down near the cliffs mate. There's probably more special Fords around there than anywhere in the whole country. Old school market gardeners loved their Aussie muscle back in the day. Top job Rossy.👍

0-100 is irrelevant in this car and in Barras also.. it’s the 100-200 that scares the shit out of you

One day maybe what about a Holy Grail Falcon if you could get a go at one ...Generally regarded with the full package as the fastest and best handling one of all . Got to be because the incredible FPV crew were behind it .. This one though is nuts and the sound is bonkers , I have an FG XR6 as you know , love that and didn't get too excited about the FGX initially but once I saw one in real life I loved them ..Will buy one , one day and a V8 too if at all possible ...Thanks again for another great vid ..

Thanks Ross for yet again another great review. It’s fitting that the best ever looking Falcon was the very last one produced. Also the Kinetic blue is the best of any car colour which truely defines the Blue Oval machine.

Dam fast this thing. The only thing is can you have to much power? Just imagine if you could put that power to the ground? My BA XR8 with the 5:4 Boss V8 with tune, Cold Air and Difillipo tuned length headers, hi-flow cats, Hi flow exhaust with Herrod sports exhaust from cats back in a 4 speed auto will do sub 6 second 0-100km, but l can stomp on it and my 243kw at the rear wheels will get 100% of its power down. I am running FG 19” XR8 rims with Pirelli dragon sports 245/45 all round. It is not a criticism to the beast of a car but l can see that it can get you into trouble. It would take finesse with the a pedal to drive this thing but wow these coyote 5L V8’s are physco.
These motors are so strong but exactly right it’s difficult to get all the power down!

@@RossReviewsau Thanks mate. Yeah it's the same same as mine. He's just got flex fuel + 58mm pulley where as mine is 64mm. If I did that also, it would be same power. I just did what I did for longevity of the supercharger and 470rwkW is honestly enough HAHA

That 6.1 sec to 100 is a cry for help. I saw first gear take off wasn’t right but…., what is the point of that much power and torque (and running it on E85 on top of it) if there is no traction. Actually the wheel spin didn’t look that bad. Try different tyres like Yokohama A52. Similar price to the Cup2 but superior traction.
I think he just didn't want to fry his expensive tyres hahaha.
With that power you need drag radials on the street. Rd tires don’t work.
I did 6.5 in mine, it's a supercharged V8 ute, same thing, you cannot get the power down to the group d, the tyres smoke all the way past 100
It’s a 750hp RWD manual.😅 I ain’t a pro race car driver and i gotta be careful on the back roads

Ok well Johnny did a review on my car, the black/yellow SS ute. To give you an idea, I was between Daly waters and Darwin and I overtook a road train, I was going 80km/h at his rear wheels and I was going 180km/h when I passed the driver in the cabin. So that's where all the acceleration is, in 3rd gear.
Then later on I overtook 3 road trains in one go, again was going 80 at the rear, by the time I got to the cabin of the front road train I was going 245. And this was still in 4th gear.

This level of power demonstrates why the 911 turbo is the king of using all of the available power to good use. 200hp less giving a sub 3 sec sprint to 100. Madness

A wrecker mechanic said the ford fg gts and fgx use mustang engines.

They use a supercharged version of the coyote engine used in the Mustang
Yep called miami in Ford speak.
Ford Aus, used the Coyote block. They changed the crank pistons and supercharged it and more mods than that totalling $40 million in development back around 2009. It also included a further modified intercoled engine. Ford Australia and America recognised that the modifications were enough to warrant a name change from Coyote to Miami. Every engine was hand assembled and signed by the engine builder as per Ford Performance US standards and same as the GT HO phase 3 with QT stamp back in 1971 everyone balanced blueprinted and hand assembled by the the same builder.

are these really reliable tryn to get one as a daily between the xr6 turbo and the xr8 and cant get much of information on these on longevity

What's your recommendation on the best one to buy I'm looking to buy one as a daily for about 5 years it should be an automatic then turn it into an extremely aggressive project car but I do not want to sacrifice any reliability for power

It’s a BIG car so you gotta be careful but steering felt nice.. and the suspension was good but might not be stiff enough for this HP
