      You’ll find a ve omega series 2 stock will rip the pants off a xr6 and as for the turbo you throw a turbo into a series 2 ve omega, you’ll quickly find it chops ves you’re welcome,

    Was always a Ford guy, hated on Holden for so long. After selling my BF xr6t 2 years ago I decided to look into a commodore and settled on a fully optioned 04 VY Series II Ls1 Manual HBD with just 64.000kms , and ill tell you what ill never look back. Its slower yes ( by a fair bit ) but as for driving experience the SS is so much more enjoyable. Done the usual Higgins Heads and large Crow cam + supporting mods and its makes a healthy 300+rwkw. Cosmo purple with colour matched leather, just hit the 80.000kms. Best car I've ever owned but financially not the smartest car to be driving to work 5 days a week. 😂 Both brands do their thing in their own way, I will always now respect both.

    This is a good comparison of a motor making power as compared to the turbo making power.sure a turbo motor will make more peak power but in 90% of situations that leaves you playing catch up to the car with proper bottom end grunt even if its got less power overall.

      The turbo barra makes waaay more midrange torque than a NA LS

  • @davidtranmedia5112
    @davidtranmedia5112 Год назад +3

    Up the LS & BARRA can't go wrong with either.
    I'm in the states so closes thing I can get to a Barra is a 2JZ-GTE or B58. But the displacement is what makes the Barra special. The extra displacement gives it more tourqe.
    But yeh a VE or any Holden if you spend the money on coilovers and whiteline everything it dies really well. Alot G8 guys over here throw the whiteline catalog at it with some crazy coilovers and man they are crazy fast around a track.
    Holden has always had pretty decent handling just needs a little help is all.
    The VF is a different story those are monsters around a track stock. So alittle tweaks here and there you got a weapon with a V8.

    Not sure with your experience why you say that about the xr6t in terms of its 0-100. The whole thing about the 4.0L is it barely suffers from lag at all. The issue with 0-100 times with a built xr6t is traction. Not lag. My 0-100 times suffer because it just won’t stop spinning. Even when it was on factory power, with a ZF behind an FG, it will light up 1st gear. Absolute weapons. An SS brings torque on way later than a Barra. Love the reviews as always though, thanks mate

    there's a VE getting around near me that sounds absolutely wicked. i feel like this one in the video might have more power, but the one getting around near home just sounds mint. he's always out doing skids at night too so i hear it going ape shit nearly every day haha. those v8s definitely sound nicer than I6s, but i reckon i'd take an XR6T over commo v8 any day. also going on torque figures, the I6 makes retarded torque numbers. i know a fella with a BF XR6T, last dyno sheet i saw was 335KW and 1001NM at the wheels. i wouldn't be surprised if that XR6 makes more torque than the Commo

    I've always loved the Barra motors, and they can make stupid power quite easily, but there's just no beating the sound of a V8, especially a cammed V8. And for a street car sound is important when most of the time you're sitting in traffic or at the lights or just cruising along. And that rumble without even needing to get on the loud peddle is unmatched.
