It's an Amazing smartphone, excellent display, Amazing battery life easy 6 to 7 hrs screen on time over a period of a day and a half. Barebone Android is the way to go. Camera is excellent too
Can you tell me which settings you have for battery saving, because on my Xperia 1 It hardly last one day with one charging?

I have the same and believe me battery can last from 06:00 till 23:00 moderate use.
I love how you fully explore the phones that you buy for making videos. I haven't seen any other reviewer giving so much screen time to Xperia 1. Part of the reason could be that you need to actually buy the phone rather than getting the phone for free from the OEMs for review. Its smart to generate maximum return from the investment :P

I just bought this, and it's amazing
Sony needs only few things - 1. Improvement of marketing, ensuring the availability of its phones at least at the minimum variety of models; 2. Using more possibilities the company has (more battery, more RAM, more internal memory, more megapixels). The substantiation of my words is Samsung which has internal memory 1TB; Apple with the same characteristics. Some brands have 8 GB of RAM and over 4000 MAh battery. Why Sony doesn't want to utilize its power in such areas for me is nonsense. Sony please know for sure - many smartphone buyers who don't care the brand chose their phone based on these characteristics. By the way why not to produce flagship smartphones in different varieties of specifications like Samsung does. For instance you may produce Sony Xperia 1 with different sized of internal memory (128 GB; 256 GB; 512 GB; 1TB) with different sizes of RAM (6GB or 8 GB). Think about this SONY - please.

Adaptive brightness makes the display brighter in direct sunlight as compared to adaptive brightness being off. Most people don't know this. The display and camera's manual mode experience is incredible. I think it charges quickly as well and offers plenty of features for the price. Wireless charging also doesn't work due to the battery care feature. It feeds a signal to the charger to turn off. I would much prefer the smart charge to wireless charging. I get about 5 to 7 hours of screen on time. All I can say is, this phone just came out, and we can see alot of very positive patches and updates in the future. Great review Nick.

one thing for sure what i really notice when i receive this phone is top quality display, color is really great natural and accuracy is great. you can tell the gradation color, not really overcontrast or oversaturation. i was using note 9 and still having it but sony xperia 1 in term of display is beyond a head...
i love watching movies and playing game, trust me since i have this phone i almost never using my laptop or my monitor to watch movies..demn really spechless

Your battery comments about phone is totally wrong, it has an amazing battery for me over a period of 32 to 34 hrs it gives me 6 to 7 hrs screen on time.

Wayyy faster than S10 plus and 13 pro max and battery is awesome.
18-20 hours just one charge.
Fingerprint is great never any issue.
Camera perfect.
u don't have reach to the top to see your notifications panel ....u can do it from any part of the screen just swipe down..

I received mine a week ago and couldn't be happier, the aspect ratio makes it quite tall, but everything is great from the screen to the pictures it takes and even battery life. 2 days is easily reachable for me.
How you manage to reach 2 days of battery life?

We used to have days or weeks of battery in the old days..now, barely a day. Small battery. Needs at least 4100 mah battery.

You can switch to Gesture Navigation to get rid of the navigation buttons at the bottom. I think this option was made available after an OS update. I got an app called Full Mode Screen Tool, it gets rid of the status and navigation bar. The screen is all freed up now.
I just discovered that the centre lens doesn't come in use at all ...the bottom acts as wide angle lens while the top doubles as regular as well as telephoto

I've been using the Xperia 10 plus for a couple of months, got so used to it, that when I go back to my pixel it just feels so fat, so I love the photos in 21:9 want to know if it's possible,
Its like a victorias secret angel. Tall and slim. Great to look at. Thats how i describe this phone.

Have to had any Updates to the Cameras, and could you explain those updates in short...?
Did any of those updates include the fingerprint here it seems like that's the biggest letdown? Lots of misses that I've seen in a few video reviews.

i know this is not the best phone out there but well ... i'm just waiting for mine, cuz i managed a monster deal on it... yes it's 950 euros in my country.. but mine after points rebate, selling the ps4 that comes with it and selling my current samsung A5 2017... 360 euros....

You should do a durability test, because it looks like Jerryrigeverything is skipping this phone and testing some Nokia phone no one will buy instead....
You can swipe down anywhere on the default screen to drop the menu down

Understand what you're saying but sony is a premium brand most of their products are expensive its not a cheap Chinese company try buying a flagship tv from sony it will break your bank account but you're getting a 350 us dollar headphones with this device when its priced at 950 us is a pretty awesome deal

Sony X1 has 120 Hz screen as well -) I'm just saying, the problem is think how long the battery would last at 120Hz and 4K resolution -) that's why it was reduced to about 90, but it's definitely higher than 60 Hz!
i've heard it is 60 but they have some kind of trick they use to make it feel higher. idk mine gets here in a couple days, can't wait.

I personally would not buy this just because I can't stand the 21:9 aspect ratio and the lack of wireless charging drives me crazy at this price point. But I'll admit I was tempted by the siren call of Sony, especially that 4k panel. but for those reasons I'm out. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk

I think the screen is showing 60hz in normaluse, but if games needs it, the screen cranks up to 120Hz.
I don't think it can do 120Hz... it was a hidden feature on older Xperia's but not this one. I made a gaming test vid on this to test it out.

You should never have super high expectaitions, that way you would be less disappointed :)
It's 2m pixels short of 4k at 6.3m pixels. 4k is 8.3m.......25percent less than 4k. It's a lie and will not be noticeable over 2k on other phones. Battery is shocking with more pixels for same viewing experience and far less screen time. Ridiculous.

Due to the narrow form factor and light weight design quite easy it's taller than other phones but not ridiculous so that it won't fit in jeans

The S10 plus is way better. this phone is garbage there is nothing on it to justify its high price I ordered it off Amazon and tried it out for a day and I did not like it whatsoever. Additionally the battery is horrible I could literally see the battery draining with my own eyes going down when I was looking at the battery percentage in the status bar.
