As a car enthusiast, which do you think is more important? Improving engine performance or suspension/ handling performance? Would love to hear your thoughts on this topic.
TQ Adrian, love the local content. Keep your videos coming. Problem for me is finding a credible professional who can take my feedback and recommend/tune the suspension setup that suits my driving and priority (safety, balance, sporty fun drive at bends). I'm stuck right now knowing who to go to who does proper install.
Can you do a video analysing the various combinations of springs + damper on the 987.1 boxster? B4 + lowering springs, B6 + stock springs, B8 + stock springs, B6 + lowering springs, B8 + lowering springs etc. and which combination is best for what situation etc
Some info on my 987.1. It's currently running on B4 with PASM, so it's lowered by 10mm from factory. B4 & B6 are not designed for lowering springs, if you want to pair with a lowered spring it will have to be a B8. You can fit the lowered springs on the stock suspension, but it will make it worse from my experience. Currently very happy with the B4s on the 987 cause: - the 987 chassis is already very capable. Even without mods, it is more than adequate for B roads - if I need it to be stiffer, I have the option of turning on PASM - my primary concern is comfort & practicality, so the B4s are good enough for me - I also dont plan to lower the car as I dont want to valet park my car. So it must be able to navigate thru the urban jungle which is the shopping complex underground parking ramps If in the future I were to upgrade, the max I would go would be a B6 for B roads. However if one was to track the car, the B12 (B8+ lowered springs) will be the next recommended upgrade.
@@ThePorscheLover I see you mentioned already lowered by 10mm. Does this mean that the boxster S stock springs are different than the normal boxster stock springs?
Bro enjoying the videos so far. One suggestion if I may. If you are part of the aurizn group, please don't flood your videos with ads like them. Its getting worst and worst to the point I stop watching them unless its really something interesting. RUclips ads are already annoying and they are doing own ads more and more. Wish you all the best. Cheers bro.
Thanks for your words of encouragement! Really appreciate them 🙏🏻 I am good friends with the Aurizn gang but not part of them 😂 Thanks again for your comments 👍🏼
Good info Adrian. I've a C43 and just did a ECU tune. Stock 390 hp at wheels now probably 10% more. The stock suspensions are horrible at corners (above 120kmh). Not sure if it's relating to the wheels and/or suspension. Any recommendations? Would like to have your contact if possible as considering btw 987.2 or 981.
Yup, the stock shocks on the w205 C43 does not go well even with the original car's power. On a side note, I have a set of lightly used Bilstein B14 that was previously on my w205. If interested, please whatsapp me bro. If you're available, can drop by my place to have a chat & I can help to test drive to see if there's anything up with the suspension bro 👍🏼 Sure bro, can whatsapp me at 0126730363 Adrian 👌🏼
Good topic. I would have a better handling car on road than an outright powerful car. Just curious if anyone had the DSC Sport unit replace a stock PASM controller and compared the two? Seems like a path to go down. The stock PASM programs are not the best on real roads.
Thanks bro! Agreed, the only exception is that if the car has a poor power to weight ration then perhaps you'll need both performance upgrade to the engine & handling. tbh, I rarely use PASM on both my 987 or 997. I do a lot of mileage on B roads & like you succinctly pointed out, the PASM (turned on) makes the car too stiff for Malaysian road conditions. The PASM is not an adaptive damping for the 997, hence it's either on or off. With the DSC, it makes it adaptive. I am also very curious to try it out too but never gotten around to getting one lol
@@ThePorscheLover Got to agree on your observation on PASM. The sports mode is hard on our roads. I have been looking at the DSC Sport for a minor suspension upgrade to see if it all settles.
your B8 in w204 is installed with stock spring or lowered spring? as far as I'm concerned it is for shorter spring and the distributors in M'sia do not bring in B6, which is supposed to match stock spring. I'm running B12 on my w204, basically it's B8 + eibach spring.
Tbh I made a boo boo for my w204. I initially wanted B8 and perhaps lowered it, then changed last minute to B6. However, I couldn't change my order hence ended up with the B8 & with stock springs. I've brought the car to You Yam a couple of times (the w204 wasn't a terribly good handling car to begin with), the B8 does help it but nowhere near do what a E90 can do if it was on B8. Currently scrapped the idea of lowering it as it's meant to be my 'comfortable' people carrier and to take a break at times from driving the Porsches 👍🏼
@@ThePorscheLover I believe Porsches have much stiffer ride .. I'm trying to save to get a 996.. most affordable 911 so far.. what is your opinion on that model? I know about the infamous failed IMS bearing, fried-egg lamp design, water-cooled engine.. but I don't mind that.. is that still a good 911 in your opinion? back to w204, how is the ride pairing B8 to stock springs? I used that once.. extremely bouncy.. not liking it at all!

I see, what car were you referring to & what's the setup you intend to or already put in?

@@ThePorscheLover Stock suspension actually.
Thanks for covering the topic, Adrian. Similar question too - if the car comes with PASM, what would be the natural route as an upgrade?
