Tig is doing so good, and you are doing so good with Tig. I Have only one bit of advice for you, and that is about Tig's crate. Dog's are Den animals, so if you would drop a towel over the top, and do the same around three sides, or with what light weight fabric you have to use; leaving the side open that Tig goes in and out from, well he would just love his den and that safe feeling. They love that enclosed feeling for their den especially at night. I am so happy that all that is happening for you! A wonderful home to hang your hat in. A new friend called Tig, that will love you unconditionally, and many friends to share life with. I really like your property, and how you have arranged it. Good Vibes all around. This many be one of the best decisions you have ever made. Enjoy!!
Very impressive Eric that TIG has not had an accident in the house for a week. That is good training and being with him all the time he’s gonna make a great companion along with the kitties remember
Eric, I’m a long time follower; first time commenter! Only reason for that is I’m a farm-steader. Only a dreamer nomad. I just can’t get rid of my animals. I do farm to table beef. My cows all have names and are my pets; my vet just smirks and laughs! I also have had my round of SOA kittens; the only one left is Gemma and she is old and needs special love. Which she gets. Cats are not my first choice; i was bit by one ona military base as a young child; had multiple round of rabies and other vaccines . I’ve had some pretty awesome ones along the way. But I do appreciate you shifting in life to a grid-stead! For your reasons!! I’m glad to see you expand to doggy-dad! From a longtime doggy- mom; it’s hard at first! Please don’t give up! Once he’s trained and older; the bond between a human and a dog is like no other!! Tiggs will never leave your side; hence a dog is man’s best friend! You are doing great with him. I can see the love he has for you!! And you for him. Just remember dogs take a little bit longt to train. Don’t give up on him: he’ll be the best “side-kick” you’ll ever have! Best wishes for you and the what I call” kit-kats “ ( around here) and the pup!! Keep doing you- and I’ll keep watching!
I am totally speechless. With what you have accomplished, the friends who have willingly helped you, and the happiness we all witness on your face. This is a great decision you've made, creating a home base, and you are surrounded by an awesome support group. Sometimes, you just gotta do it! Good for you, Eric, and I wish you continued success traveling this new road in life! Hugs!
That was really nice to watch all your friends together for a property warming party BBQ.
Trimming those bushes is BRILLIANT, it not only gives you more of a tree affect but it does take away the ability for rats to hide and build nests.
Looks very sharp and your property's looking fabulous. I can't wait to see more and more improvements. I look forward to each and every video because I love homesteading.
Animals make great family.
The property is looking better and better all the time!!!
On your shrub trimming, those lower branches that were bare may serve are a wind break. It also the reason they were bare. Pine usually get their new needles in fall, most of the time they have a coating on them, it is kind of cloudy looking. This keeps the needles from drying out during the winter. Down near ground level when you get blowing snow, this washes that coating off up the the height of the blowing snow. Then those needles die and don't come back. Maybe a little each year but that's what happens. Now with those branches gone the trunks of those tree are at risk.
In the TX hill country we have what we call cedar that are actually juniper. We don’t have pack rat issue but these trees are still a pain. Also we have oak trees instead of pine mostly competing. The real problem the cedar present is the water they hog & hold. Yours probably do same. We have a new homestead so to speak as we downsized & we are removing all the cedar that is close to the oaks. We want our oak trees to thrive & water is too precious.
So fun to watch you, Eric, enjoying your new place. We feel your joy!!!
You should not let the dog always win the tug of war, that teaches them that they are dominant.
Eric-I have been in animal rescue for years and your dedication to your kitties and now to Tig, warms my heart. You are amazing! i have so appreciated your videos over the years, and your character shows with your babies.
So much fun watching all your doing at your homestead/basecamp. Tig is so adorable🐶❤️
Dogs are like family, Cats are like room mates
My solution for pack rats is my "Eloise" , my Jack Russell Terrier. JRTs are notorious raters. As a rule, pine trees have shallow roots which makes them susceptible to winds. When planted in rows, the roots intertwine to give support.
Eric, I truly enjoyed this video. I rejoice with you for your property 🙌 Great ideas 💡 and execution of the tree trimming and set up on the property. So great to have friends to hangout with and have their support.
All your babies will be fast friends in no time. How wonderful to have Tig.
It's so nice to see the Nomadic Fanatic Family unit thriving and making memories that last forever 😁😸😺🐕
Tiger is adorable. Glad the kitties are coming around. Put a comfy pad in his crate and he'll love it even more.
he had one in there i think its outside in that little fence where the kid was with him though. he will probably get another one. Tig sleeps in the little crate in the bed with him anyway.
Eric the Gnats can be a pain to help combat them put a box fan or a wind tunnel blowing across everyone. They do not like the breeze.
Try and keep fresh water inside and out for Tig. Looking great!
Love your little extended family here. Are you still planning on building a 'catio' at your home base so the kitties can enjoy some safe 'outdoor play time' too?
Love love full tiny house❤
Hey Eric, RV prepper Wayne’s friend Wes here, I just wanted to say thank you for pronouncing the G in gnats… I have always pronounced the G verbally, and dad always gets on me about how the G is silent and I always tell him I don’t give a crap.😂😂😂
I grew up in Texas Hill Country which is full of cedar or also known as juniper. They suck all the water from the ground. Completely take them out within 50 ft. of each pine tree. Just trimming them makes them prettier for sure but they're still robbing the needed moisture from the pines.
Is there anything you can call your homestead beside "the property".?
Excellent work on the property. Clearing out those Junipers makes such a difference.
I love the expanded pen for Tig. The gathering no doubt was a blast. 🤗
Never get rid of Tigs crate. He will always know that is his space and a safe space for him even when he becomes older and less active. I have a 70lb pitbull that still goes to her crate when she wants to and we use it whenever we must have her contained like if a repairman or someone strange has to be in the house. Had an officer knock on the door once to tell us about something going on in the neighborhood and he was thankful when I told him to just give me a minute to put her in the crate before inviting him in to talk.
little Tig is sooo lovely and the kitties doing good i am happy for you Eric
Im loving the changes Eric.
People sure say rude things or throw shade at you, and my others youtube favs. The Colonel is cool, it's about Americana, gosh people. Suddenly wondering what Eric may look like at the Colonel's age? Hmmm. You are creating a cool homestead and it reflects you, as it should. Does anybody else notice how relaxed, at ease, and happy Eric is now compared to 6 months ago. Yay! YAY! It makes me smile and look forward to more. Thank You for sharing.
That looked like y’all had lots of fun! So happy that your little homestead is bringing you so much joy. You’re doing great!
Wow Camp Eric looks awesome!!! You have great friends!!
I think you have done really well for yourself and should be very proud!! I’m happy for you!! Love to you, the kitties and Tig❤🐾🐾🐾
Eric nice to see you so happy, down deep happy. Now you got it right
When I was 7 yrs old my dad did the startup on the kitchen eqt in the first KFC in Portland Oregon. We were invited to the open house and we had dinner with the Colonel! He was exactly as portrayed....goatee...white suit etc! Was quite the deal! (I am 75 this year so it happened way back in time) I think your Colonel in lights is great!!
Dogs have unconditional love.
Love seeing the progress on your property and you seem to be a lot more happy and content since you been staying at camp. A nice break before you take off on any future trips
Papa H is the energizer bunny... He gets stuff done 😂👍🏼 I love how excited you get when you discover a new pine tree. That's the greatest 🌲 🌳
BTW, we LOVE it here 😊 but you know that already, lol.
Looks like a fun time with great friends. The property is looking great! It's awesome how everyone helps each other out.
You could set up a dog run for tigg. Fence it up and let him run back and forth
Hey Eric we are heading to Harley Davidson 120th. You should come on up.
Puppies have a way to communicate with cats.....I bet there will be big improvement over time! When left on their own, they will probably end up playing....Opie will probably be the first one to give in and play. Tara may always be the monitor, so to speak!
Dogs are absolutely awesome! Tig is a smart boy.
I love all you've done, Eric. Just love it.
Hey Eric what's going on man I love seeing the fun filled Adventures you and the Animals are having with your friends their # Fun times with Friends
Tig is saying thank you for letting me win dad😊... He is cute!!!
I bought a camper Cargo Trailer to come out and when it was time to head out, I couldn’t leave my cats behind and they would not ride in a truck. I’m down to 5 now, and I have to sell my house and I dread leaving them behind. That’s how I got so many in the first place, people moving away from here after 2009 and they left their cats. I just hope they get someone like me to take care of them when I leave in December.😢
I'm not sure about Arizona but in Wisconsin we are able to get bat box's that you can put around your property and they will constantly gabble up thousands of bugs every night and no electricity required 😂
HOMER (KATHERINE 2!) 😂 ROX!!!! You are lucky to have such awesome people in your life.❤ Tig is ADORABLE!!! The camp looks very nice filled w/wonderful people!🎉 The astroturf is a FABULOUS IDEA 💡! Safe travels... LUCRETIA
Your homebase is looking amazing. So happy for you .
Pine tree equivalent to natures lighting rod
Enjoy your new environment 😅
Consider a backup chainsaw chain as well as a backup battery.
"I got dirt on my hand but I'm building me a new home." -- Springsteen. All the best.
It's really fun watching you have fun at your new property with your new puppy and friends.
How wonderful to live off grid in such a beautiful area! You have adorable fur babies and a fantastic group of friends. I’m so envious! 😍
Totally agree with keeping the junipers near the road as a privacy screen.
I have never never ever seen someone hyped over Pine trees, lol, put a air tag on the dogs harness
Glad to see you so happy. Tig is growing quickly. Camp is looking great!
Tig is a great addition to your family Eric. Cats can be cool no doubt but there's nothing beats the loyalty love of a dog. Take care my friend I've yet to meet 😎 ✌️
I'm really envious of your place and your fun good friends
Your property looks good, Eric. That was a nice Home base get together.
You're constantly smiling now a days......And I'm here for it 😊
I could understand why people full-time nomads would like to come and visit and not leave. You make life so enjoyable.
He really likes his dog. Man’s best friend
The place looks awesome thanks homer and the guys and gals
Under your favorite juniper, I see a part of the trunk sticking up about 3’ where part of the tree was cut off. If you cut the top of that trunk flat, you can use it as end table to set drinks on. Would be cool. 😂
Pretty sure Junipers there are actually invasive and water robbers deep roots. The pines are native. Clear as many Junipers out and replace with pine
Great idea! You are correct, @Channel--Ai!
Everyone buying land in AZ and have potlucks 😂 boaring
I love the lollipop trees, they look great.
Something to think about when playing with Tigg. Make sure you 'win' tug of war more than the puppy. The thought is that you are the leader of the pack. Hopefully, that makes sense.
Man I am so glad I found your channel again! I used to watch you when you had the van, before you painted the van black. Now we’re looking at buying land near show low area in Apache county side and your videos are providing me so much valuable insight from someone who lives out of state. We’ll actually be out there this weekend to check out the area! Thanks for the quality videos Eric
Uhm ... Eric? Watch out that PRETTY and TALL pine tree doesn't turn on ya. - It could also turn into a LIGHTNING ROD in a storm !!!
Nice homestead setup.
Plug up the table hole in the floor before puppies leg falls into it.
Tara is doing so much better. She's not hiding as much. Camp looks great.
It took Tara a while to accept Opie. Be patient
Tig is a sweetie. Run him crazy. A tired puppy is a good puppy.
Great work on the property AND Tig!!! 💕
Please, remember to keep the fresh water available for the pup 🐶 and 🐱 Kitties!
CEDARCIDE is amazingly effective to deter and kill bugs!! Non-toxic to kids, pets and adults! No bug bites after y’all spray it on at your campfire. 👍🏻
Have fun!!
Looks so much better, I don't like trees next to buildings, but pines have a deep root system, some going 75 ft into the ground, depending upon the tree. Amazing how much you can get on just 1 acre.
TIG sure had the attention. he has the Lab disposition, lucky you.
Tig is just too cute.😅
Eric that trade was a GREAT decision!
Great Audio!!
Good Mic . . .
YOU ~ ROCK ! !
Those are alligator junipers. Best fire wood! It smells absolutely amazing. They only grow at higher elevation. If you go to lower elevation you'll find shaggy bark juniper in Arizona.
Your toys were fun, but that land is a much better investment. Doing some adulting there, kiddo 😍🤣. Looks like you're having a great time.
Good video. Looks like the homestead is jumping.
Looks better every week.
Love the Pine Tree!! 🌲
Clearing all that I’m sure is for fire prevention!!! ❤
Glad you are having fun and enjoying your new home!! 🏡 🌵
Get started on those mini trenches because I don’t want the downpour of the monsoon to catch you off guard.
How much do you have to protect the kitties and Tig from fleas, ticks and mosquitoes in the state of Arizona on that elevation and that type of dirt terrain and gravel? ? ?
@alexcarrn28, it's probably too dry for fleas there.
Hello love the new land just a heads up don't let your puppy eat cat food it has ingredient in it that can cause blindness in dogs keep up the good work
Places looking good tigs doing good tara and opie all get along with tig. Glad u have friends there.
Eric. You made the best trade, games for property… Your little family is growing tig is adorable . Kittens are sweet and tolerance . I have always have puppies but I have grown to like some kitties. Great seeing all your friends, the kids are all growing up . Keep enjoying your place there nothing like owning your own place. ❤
Loving the property progress videos! Do what makes you happy, but these are the best vids IMO and will target a larger audience for most people tend to stay near their base. Cheers
So much for watching camping and traveling .
How will this affect your winter travel with the 2 cats and a pup? Will that limit your Nascar and Disney?
Yeah man, You're livin' the Dream. 🇺🇲👍
The lighting is beautiful in your opening view! The sunset behind you! How fun to host your first stay-ovet guests at your new place. ❤
Property looking good...where did you get the light to shine on the flag..
The asto turf under the shade tree is awesome! My dog hates walking on the rock in my yard. I have two sections of artificial grass for her that she loves.
Safe trip an stay safe ur place is looking great see yah Eric an Tara an Opie an tigg hugs always
Good deal Eric. Ground zero is looking better every day. Many hands make light work as they say. It's nice to see all Ya'll together.
The pup is cute, but I definitely wouldn't be teaching him to bark. Barking dogs are the #1 complaint when camping.
