  • In this video I'll show you techniques for painting simple watercolor flowers and how to turn them into cute little cards. I'll also share techniques for how to use the brush and paper rotation for better control and easier painting process.
    Please support me by clicking the 👍 button if you enjoyed watching.
    Materials:
    Watercolors from Daniel Smith. You don't have to use these specific colors just think about having a darker and lighter tone of each.
    Brushes from Da Vinci (Petit gris pur size 0) and Raphael soft aqua size 12. Sizes depends on how large the area you are painting in is.
    For cutting the paper into smaller pieces I'm using Flintronic cutter and for rounding edges a corner cutter from Vassen Creative

    Hi. I am enjoying your videos. I find that moving my paper helps so much. I'm a bit tired of other artists that say you should know how to work without moving the paper. It just doesn't work for me. I would rather have fun and play with my watercolor than follow the "rules". Take care

      Hi :) happy you enjoyed and thanks for sharing your experience. In my opinion there shouldn’t be any rules when it comes to art. You should just find what works for you and go for it.

    I love the idea of painting upside down and rotating the paper. I am left handed so this technique really helps from smudging. So much more control. Thank you for this tip!

    Such beautiful paintings! 😍 What kind of hairdrier are you using? Do you recommend any specific type? I see that it's a bit different from the ones I've seen to be used to dry hair.

    • @Neginz-Art
      @Neginz-Art  Год назад +1

      Thanks 🥰 you can use any hair dryer. Mine is an old Babyliss (the ones with a comb attached, which I have removed). I recommend low air speed and high heat with some distance from the paper.

    • @marymirko
      @marymirko Год назад

      @@Neginz-Art thank you for the tips! Some people have mixed feelings about using a hair dryer to speed up the setting process. Do you think there is any difference between waiting to dry naturally versus drying it with the hair dryer?

    • @Neginz-Art
      @Neginz-Art  Год назад

      Yes, there are always ups and downs. It speeds up the process but also can move water around and create unexpected effects if you have too much water on the paper, so you need to be careful. At the same time it helps getting rid of buckling and warping. Then if the heat is too high or too close to the paper it can damage the pigments I have heard (but not experienced). It has been working fine for me so far and is part of my painting routine, specifically since recording videos would take forever if I was to always let it dry naturally.

    Please tell which type of paper do you use in your videos - cotton or cellulose? Thank you for your videos!

    • @Neginz-Art
      @Neginz-Art  5 месяцев назад +1

      Actually a mix, for a more simplified paintings like this where I don’t apply too many layers of washes, I use cellulose or 25% cotton.
      Otherwise for the ones with more layers I go for 100% cotton.
